I'm currently running Trigger 3.2 with Bullet kernel but I've had this problem with every kernel I've tried (stock Trigger kernel, Overstock, Bali etc) and with other roms (Bionix) and with or without Voodoo lagfix enabled. When I have wifi calling enabled, the caller on the other end hears an echo of their voice. This is true whether they call or I call and no matter where I'm using wifi. I've tried at home, work, coffee shops. No matter what, they hear themselves when they talk. Anyone else experience this issue? I really want to take advantage of the free unlimited wifi calling but if the people I'm talking to have this issue, it's not going to fly.
Anyone?
No one else is experiencing this problem? I just tried stock Froyo and I'm having the same issue. Hardware problem? Wifi settings? I tried changing my wifi security to open to test it and still experienced the problem.
Yes same problem on team whiskey roms... about to try a different rom... ugh, will post if it fixes
echo echo echo......
yes i have the same problem ive tried trigger and sgs 2 clone still same problem
I've got the same issue myself. The caller hears themselves with a delay. I thought it was due to bandwidth problems, so I made sure I had NO transfers going on my PC and reconnected the call. Same echo throughout - and THEN wifi calling force closed and dropped the call. I've been having these problems throughout. I certainly hope they improve WIFI calling and release app updates over the market (like My Account) rather than leaving it as is and/or waiting for an entire firmware update.
Same problem here on EDT Project V. I've had to stop using wifi calling because of it.
We need to bump this thread to get more people aware and to find a solution.... It is REALLY annoying!
I'm having the same issue.
Using Wi-Fi Calling version 1.0 on Bionix Next Gen 1
Same issue here also...ive tryed many roms and apps..but no change...ive givin up on the wifi calling months ago...it would b great to see it get fixed...that is if it can be...im starting to think that the echo ia just how it is...who know!!
simply galaxy 2.8 vibrant
Im having the same problem. It happens with every rom/ kernel I try. Only thing I have found that helps is to turn down the in call volume. It still echos, but not as bad.
this is probably with the t-mobile app itself
I know this thread is a bit old, but I'm also having this problem. I'm currently running Bionix-V 1.3.1 Fishman Mod V3 (Bali kernel). I don't think I had the wifi calling echo problem when I was using the regular Bionix-V 1.3.1 with the regular froyo kernel.

Since upgrading to the EB01 Froyo leak (debinged/deodexed) I have wifi issues where every 3 or 4 times I attempt to enable it, it will fail, and show "Error" under the Wi-Fi settings (where it ususally says in blue text "Turn on Wi-Fi", "Connecting..." "Connected to <network>", etc). I finally got the log message associated with it, and was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to address this?
From what I gather insmod is the kernel's mechanism for (in this case) loading the wifi driver, so this would be an issue with the kernel? So now what?
E/WifiHW ( 2467): return of insmod (args:firmware_path=/system/etc/wifi/bcm4329_sta.bin nvram_path=/system/etc/wifi/nvram_net.txt dhd_watchdog_ms=10 dhd_poll=1) : ret = -1, Invalid argument
At first I thought a reboot was necessary to get it to attempt to reload the driver, but I've since found clearing level 2 ram in the task manager does the trick. Still a big PIA though.
Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem until I flashed the EC10 kernel, hasn't happened since.

So, if I'm not mistaken I can just install the non-voodoo zip w/ Red CWM directly over EB01 with no wiping/cache clearing, etc, and be up and running with no data or configuration loss? Sounds like a pretty quick and easy way to fix my issue.
I haven't been following the EC10 thread, but I just took a look and looks like the static issue when the screen comes on during a call is fixed as well, the only other issue I've had.
Guess I may have to give it a shot! How long have you been using it?
KF
I've been using it for a couple days and have to say that it combined with SuperClean 2.9 has made my phone super smooth. I haven't found a single glitch so far.
Took the plunge and updated to EC10 last night. I've had only a brief time to play around with it, but so far so good with the wifi. Thanks for the help!
Could just be my mind playing tricks on me, but I could swear in general everything is more responsive as well... Not only loading apps, but when I brought up navigation this morning I've never once seen it lock on and start driving directions this fast.
Nevermind... Same problem still with EC10. Got my hopes up there for a minute.
I got the same problem with SC 2.9.2v and had with any other SC Froyo build. I'm using JuiceDefender so WiFi is turned on/off lot of times (every 15 minutes on schedule or when screen is unlocked). Usually once or twice a day I find that there is an error with WiFi and the only way to fix it is to wait couple of minutes and try turning it on manually or switch to airplane mode on/off.
I also use JuiceDefender w/ Wifi. If it doesn't occur less often with EC10 (too soon to tell still), I'll have to disable the wifi controls in JD so it's toggled on/off far less frequently.
Glad to see I'm not the only one seeing it. I bet the JD users will just notice it more since we are loading the wifi driver all the time.

And thanks for the airplane mode tip- I'll have to try that. I was clearing level 2 ram in task manager to do it. AM would be slightly more convenient.
jt1134's source build EC10 didn't help, still having same problem with WiFi. My log is showing the same thing.
At least the new kernel fixed the static issue. One thing at a time, right? I hope that this means there will be ED01 kernel drop
Actually, maybe April Fool's day is a bad choice...
What radio are you using? EB01?
Yes, I did the full Froyo update to EB01 over the stock 2.1 Verizon eclair, then installed the EC10 specifically for this issue. That's all I've done. Oh, went back into CWM after seeing the problem for a few days to clear the Dalvik cache. That's all I've done to date...
OK so it's not radio related but kernel/rom then. I'm on EA28 radio cause I had problems with missed calls with EB01.
Solutions? Bump?
Sorry for reviving this thread, but I have what I think is the same problem (on EB01).
My wifi always works after a reboot, but then if I turn it off and try and turn it back on, it gives me an error message until I either
A) reboot the phone
or
B) repeatedly turn it on and off again (usually takes 3 or 4 times to work again)
Anyone else having this specific problem or know how to fix it?

I was able to get rid if the problem by using Auto Killer Memory Optimizer. It turned out to be a memory issue. Use one of the preset profiles, like aggressive, and see how you do. I was having the problem several times a day and it never came back.
Or, upgrade to PWGB, which takes care if the problem too and doesn't require messing with memory mgmt settings...
I have tried JT's kernel from source and imnuts kernel, and with both i am having issues that i was not when using either adrynalyns eb10/16 (dont remember which)
Issues: when people call me and phone is asleep pone does not ring, nor does it show up that they even called me. It almost seems like it depends how long phone has been asleep.
when phone is asleep and i receive emails or SMS, i do not get them until i wake phone and unlock.
Tried data wipe, and now going back to one of adrynalyns eb10/16 kernels to see if it fixes it. If not maybe i will try re-flashing SC again?
Suggestions? Or anyone else having this problem
Start over with EB16 tar package than install SC 2.92

I didn't think there was an EB16 tar?
I'm not certain if this is specific to this kernel or not but I have problems with my phone dropping my data connection down from two bars to one then zero bars every time I access data. Then when I let it go back to dormant then access data again it briefly shows two bars then lowers to zero again. The only way I can fix it is to reboot the phone, then signal stays strong at 2 bars. This usually happens if I have not rebooted my phone in over 24 or maybe 36 hours. When this symptom happens my voice signals (the bars that show when data is off or dormant) stays strong at 3 bars.
I am going to roll back to EB16 to see if this problem persists on it.

hm maybe i just need to re-flash sc, just thought it was odd that it was not an issue until all the new kernels came out
You can check gizmodroids post in the development section, he has a list of all in one odin/sc packages
Been utilizing GSB and Ginger for a bit now and do not recall experiencing this particular issue before.
But since CM 7 and the SD Card tweak ... can't remember precisely when, it seems that I loose connection to the network after receiving calls. Maybe once or twice that I can't attribute to a call.
Rebooting fixes it and then I learned about the Airplane tip and that does it without a reboot.
Anyone else having similar issues or any ideas on what might be causing it?
Install procedure I have been following is the standard complete wipe, flash rom, flash GAPPS, set phone back up.
Thanks,
Collin
the only phones that can talk and use internet is Atat..so wen ur on a call ur network wont work.. only wifi.
Not quite the nature of my post. After ending the call the network is not connected even though it's on in settings.

Does anyone know if there is a way to remover launcher pro as a launcher after flashing GSB 2.8 and essentially run vanilla?

Didn't you already post this in a new thread? Also, your post has nothing to do with "losing network" so it's not nice to hijack an unrelated thread.
I've been losing my 3G connection, as well. There also seems to be an issue when using the notification power widget. Sometimes it will work perfectly turning it on and off. Other times it will light up when I want to turn it on, but 3G won't actually connect, then it is hard to toggle it back off. Not sure if it's a cm7 issue or not. It appears that the checkbox is checked in the "wireless and network" settings when the notification power widget is toggled "on" even when it isn't connecting.
Yeah after reviewing my posts and questions since March 12th or so when I joined XDA, I have not the issues that I am having now. From Ginger Tazz 12 through GSB 2.7 CM 7 RC4 things have been very enjoyable.
I have been following the standard routine since March about wiping, flashing rom then gapps.
I first noticed the issue with GSB 2.8 CM7 final. Just dealt with and was sure that it would go away in the next build but 2.9 hasn't changed much.
Losing the network has just become more random. Sometimes it returns after whatever causes which I thought was incoming calls but today I lost it after receiving an incoming text. Just odd.
I have also been experiencing exchange push issues which I didn't have before.
With posts on both forums reporting issues, I find it hard to believe the issues stem from Shed and Tazz both at the same time.

I've experienced this a couple times after calls, and even once while I was browsing the Amazon app store. I was in the middle of a page load and then my 3g was just gone. I also noticed that when this happens the cyan theme for the signal strength goes out. I usually get the network back by going into settings and disabling and reenabling the data. Its only happened a few times but still kinda weird. Oh I'm on gsb 2.8, planning on flashing 2.9 when I get back from my holiday..

My theme goes out as well. It turns white and gets bigger.

Having this same issue on 2.8. Disabling and re-enabling Mobile Data seems to do the trick, but only in the settings menu, not from the power widget.
Seems to roughly coorelate with making or receiving calls, but I am not 100% positive about that as it sometimes takes me a while to notice.
I'm going to try reverting to the stock theme and see if that makes a difference.

Just an update. The issue continued under 2.9 & 3.0.
Trying out GT and it occurs here as well.

this issue happens to me too on GSB v3.1. for me, it seems to happen pretty randomly, not after i make or receive a call. sometimes rebooting fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. sometimes turning on airplane mode then turning it off fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. another thing is that when i lose my network connection, my battery gets eaten up suuuuper fast, almost as if it's using a ton of battery trying to re-establish a connection. very annoying
I honestly have been experiencing low signal strength over many roms lately. which in turn, means quicker battery drain. wonder if it is more on the cellular side than the roms?
Haven't really noticed it happening with the latest roms. GSB 3.2 and higher. And not once on Condemned Soul.

Hello! I have been kind of tracking an issue, and it seems that there is just no rhyme or reason to it.
I seem to miss somewhere between 25-50% of my incoming calls. I'll be in full 3G service in a lot of these instances, GVoice alerts me to a new VM which is my clue.
I tend to listen to the VM then return the call and always ask if they just called, and it is always within just a few short minutes. So the VM is getting to me, but not the call.
I thought that maybe my ringer was getting turned down - not the case.
I thought that maybe things were going awry, but every time I test, the phone rings as expected...
I am running KangBang(CommRom)1.3 with the OTB Kernel (v1.3 as well) and my radio is ED01.
Unfortunately I cannot say when the issue started - it may have been there from the get-go, but unknown to me. I can, however hypothesize that I have seen this issue over more than one radio (and therefor ROM and kernel) version...
I am at a loss and rather unsure how to proceed on troubleshooting the problem.
I did call Verizon Tech Support today to try to make some progress, but they simply had me do a *228 2 to reset roaming and test. Of course the test call came through (like when you have a rattle that won't reproduce at the mechanic's shop).
The tech who helped me was really kind and actually SMS'ed his info to me in case I need it, so I have an avenue, but I think it best to return the call with things to try. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in coming up with things to try.
TIA.
had an issue where i missed 2 or 3 calls when i first switched over to new radio and ROM, I re-wiped and reflashed everything again, radio, ROM, and kernel and haven't had any missed calls since,
give that a try, just back up everything with TiBu
I will give that a try.
I did a full wipe this weekend when I was trying the 1.4 kernel, but I then restored a CWM backup, so I'll give that a go.
Many thanks.
I have the same issue everytime I do a fresh install of Google Voice after a long period of not using it. Check your GV settings, try toggling 'do not disturb.' I can't really pinpoint what fixed it, but all is well now.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
This sounds like an issue with Google Voice and not your phone or rom. I'd uninstall and redo as well as double check all settings, do *228 (both options), reboot, etc.
Samsung/USCC have acknowledged a missed calls issue on the Mesmerize that they are working on releasing a fix for. No idea if it's possible that the Fascinate has the same issue but I wouldn't be surprised.
Thanks for this! I did re-wipe all data and caches to no avail. Had not even considered GV as a culprit... Many thanks!
Is anyone else experiencing problems using Skype on LPH?
I can't complete calls. It seems that the sound jumps astronomically high for a split second then drops out. Calls don't seem to work at all.
Tried deleting the app data. Didn't help.
Anyone?
I need Skype to work, but I don't want to go back to GB
Which ROM exactly are you using?
