[Q]Metro UI widgets - Optimus One, P500, V General

Is there any Widgets app on the market that i can use to make shortcuts on my home screen that look like WP7 (The grid tiles, they look squarish).
Or maybe ones that look like almost the ones on the galaxy s 2?
I kinda like windows phone 7 but i would rather want to stay with GO Launcher than to change to a WP7 launcher.
Thanks in advance

You can try Desktop VisualizeR... it's free and as far as I remember (I only had it for a couple of hours), pretty easy to use and feature-packed!

[Q] A scrolling Facebook widget that works?

Has anyone found a scrolling fb widget that does not crash when you look at it? Or am I the only one having these problems?
I tried Facez, Colorize Widget, Seesmic and probably others that I forgot. Every single one caused problems
What do you use?
Launcher Pro plus works for me

Hm....but I don't want to switch to a different launcher just to have one widget. I currently use Sweeter Home after spending a lot of time with ADW and Zeam.
LP+ is out of the question

Also, best paid launcher around IMO.

That's right. Easily one of the best out there. But now that I'm starting to get the hang of Sweeter Home, there's no way back

[Q] Launcher Pro Plus

What's the benefit of purchasing the Plus version? Is it worth it for the Gtab?
The calander widget is the best I have ever used. Can make it full screen and looks awesome. The Facebook widget is epic. Also the fact that it lets you resize any widget is as practicle as it is awesome. Pay for it.... your only doing you, and good app developer justice. They have a great free app and the paid version is totally worth it.

^ 100% agree. The Facebook widget alone is worth it - it's basically the one from HTC Sense but ya know, without the crappy Sense.
You guys convinced me. Just bought it.
Its good to know that it adds some useful widgets. With all the other apps I have bought from the market I only have to buy it once and I can use it on both my phone and my tablet. Will launcher pro plus do that too or is it one per device?
I love ADW (free version) on my OG Droid and I've been trying out Launcerpro on my gtab. I'm finding that all I care about on my gtab is the icons/widgets on the screen and the app drawer. I have no interest in the dock.
I'm thinking about trying Zeam launcher for the simplicity. Anyone have experience with Zeam on their tablet?
Yes, the best part of launcher pro plus is the widgets. The calendar and agenda widgets are nice.

I purchased this on your recommendation! Now can you tell me how to change the launcher settings so I can get more rows and columns?

Zeam is excellent, a very fast launcher. You can change the number of columns and rows up to 8 and autofit widgets into the grid so it looks nicer. The only desired feature for me is the ability to hide apps from the app drawer. Too bad Zeam is no longer is development.

Launcher?

I have been playing around with my tab 10.1 for a while now, and considering to change the launcher for another one.
Is they're anyone around with a experience using adw ex?
Looks nice but would love to hear some users ...
I have tried to instal go launder ex, but Al lot plugins in the market show not compatible with your device....
Suggestions?

I am using adw ex pro and it works like a charm. So far no problem. The only thing is, when you try to move your apps from one place to another place on the screen, you might get confused
But it works so smooth and fast

yup
I'm using ADW Ex and I wouldn't go back to something else.
So fast and smooth that it makes you wondering why google can't get a better launcher. Maybe ICS will be the answer...
ADW EX is the best for our tab. Day and night difference when compared to stock launcher
I am in the same boat as everybody else and I agree with everything everybody has already said.
Think i Will buy this one then ... Thanks

Related question, does anyone have insight on free version of ADW? It seems to do most of the same stuff, just curious if there are features on the paid version that would be must-haves.
Differences between ADW.Launcher and ADWLauncher EX
ADWLauncher EX is based on the ADW.Launcher opensource core with a lot of new additions and improvements, like for example:
-5 different app drawer styles/behaviors
---3D Nexus One like application drawer
---2 different plain vertical drawer styles, the "old one" and a new fast and smooth one
---2 different Iphone-like horizontal application drawers, a traditional paginated one and a new one with continuous fling
-Different desktop transitions: new animations while navigating through your desktop screens. Try them all, they're crazy!!!
-New Icons configurations/look and feel: Tweak your desktop icons, change its sizes, add coloured backgrounds, change font size, color, etc!
-New fast presets mode: Quickly change the whole desktop configuration by 1 click!
-Editable desktop icons for applications, shortcuts and folders!
-Lots of code improvements
-More, more more to come!!
thats straight from the market hope this helps
Thanks, I did read that on the market. I guess my question was more related to actual use and experience, but I guess I will just go ahead and try the free version, and if it doesn't do enough of what I want I will buy the pro version. I just didn't want to spend a lot of time working on it just to have to do it all over again if I upgrade.
I totally agree.. ADW EX is definitely the way to go here. I haven't found anything that even compares. It's good on my Droid X but when they ported it to the tablet they added so many nice touches!

Funny, the free version was available two days ago, but now says it is not compatible with my device...
Guess I'll cough up the $3.32 to check this out.
Bought this launcher and happy with it!
Thanks, have to put in some more time add there are a lot of options here!
Thanks!

I guess I'm alone in thinking that adw is trash but oh well. Prior to using trebuchet on the ics kang I used SPB shell 3d. Its 15$ but its completely worth it, imo. Go launcher isn't tablet ready yet and probably won't be for awhile. Or you just flash the ics kang and be done with it (and save the money)
I have both AdwEx and SPB Shell on my tab. I like adw way better. SPB shell looks good but I think it compromises productivity for the look.
Just purchased ADW EX after reading through this thread, liking it so far , very quick and responsive. I'll be sticking with it for a little while.
i use go launcher just because i can make folders in app drawer. i find i gets super cluttered when you have 20+ games all the **** Samsung apps and Google apps you suddenly start to see three pages of apps. i never find what i just downloaded if i want to try some new app/game, so its nice to putt all games in one folder all productivity apps in one etc.
so far non of the other launcher have this feautere. oh and iphone like uninstall, just hold down on an app and click red x to uninstall. brilliant.

Same here, bought adw but the ability to create folders in app drawer is a plus. If adw had this feature it would be amazing. That and the option to
to use the home soft button to open app drawer.

Icon help

I like having big icons on my phone but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that. It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? I've used desktop visualizer to no avail and I'm pretty sure I've gone through most of the more popular launchers but was unable to find a resize option in them.
My phone is unrooted and I'm using a Xperia Pro
Any help would be appreciated.

What problems did desktop visualizer give you? I used it with LauncherPro, which is very fast and light, and it didn't give me problems.

Launchers

Hello everyone, I’m back in the Android family again and I see a lot has changed in the last 3 years. I went into the playstore and don’t see all of the apps I’ve purchased, and I’m assuming that’s because of Android OS compatibility. I was very happy to see some core apps I use were still there, but what happened to the launchers? The variety is nothing like it used to be. At one point in time, I had between 10 - 14 on my phone that were similar but also different for one reason or another. Thankfully Nova Launcher which is my number 1 pick is still available. I think Apex Launcher is also, sadly TSF Shell and Next Launcher are gone. I liked those, but I see Go Launcher is. Now I haven’t used that launcher in at least 7 or 8 years, because they began charging for things that used to be included for free. I remember when that was the top launcher and was worth using. The reviews I see are terrible to say the least. I tried to visit their website and got some message basically stating the site isn’t up as far as I’m concerned. What is going on here, and what could they possibly be selling for an in app purchase for $109? I would never spend that kind of money for an in app purchase. Are there any other good launchers available that I’m missing? I saw a couple of launchers that were based on Windows Desktop layouts, and a MAC OS layout.
Launcher choice
I didn't like how the stock launcher only gave you only a few applications to choose from on the top screen when you were in 'T' mode. I played around with Nova Launcher and changing the options to auto rotate seems to work pretty well. Let me...

Microsoft Launcher seems to also work well with the Wing.
You will lose the Carousel Apps though in swivel mode.
But it seems to take care of the 5 second delay that KLWP has when launching Apps from the Home Screen.
Nova also takes care of that though
Wow that looks good. Is that KLWP also? I haven't played around with a build your own widget since UCCW.

Yes, mainly KLWP. Not really a widget but an entire theme built using KLWP.
It's a fairly steep learning curve, but works well on the Wing

Lol Yes it's not the easiest to get to grips with. Cheers
Btw which launcher did you settle on in the end.
That looks really slick!

I switched to Nova to play around with KLWP, because I am not entirely sure if Win-X Launcher (NO ADS) is compatible. Its either that, and/or I really just don't know what I'm doing yet. I plan to learn more about to use it this weekend.
I use Total Launcher and have for years. It gives you a blank palette to place any widget, any icon, anywhere. Allows for windows with swipe actions. Use of any icon pack in the play store. Mix and match icon styles. Completely customizable. Works with KLWP and KWGT. Has Tasker plugins.
Overall, IMO its more freedom to customize than any other launcher. You be the judge. Happy Launching...
