I have tried the LG update software, nothing detects the phone, it instantly boots into emergency mode hoping I have not bricked the phone. This all happend while trying to downgrade the baseband and it just stopped at about 25% and stayed there for ten minutes, I attempted to reflash and the same failure happend, I then rebooted the phone and it has been in emergency mode since then with no detection at all.
did you flash a custom rom? or were you using the stock lg rom
try use other usb port ???

check downgrading ur phone detail just flash ur desired android version.
if sucessfull via lgmdp(latest method) search threads for lgmdp method or use kdz which solved all probs.
Try to enter emergency mode with vol up + back key + power button (not just power button) and then connect it to usb.
I have tried the kdz(after emergency mode issue) and lgmpd method already as it was required for the baseband flash the first time, I have clockworkmod recovery installed and cannot boot to that, was downgrading the baseband so I could go back to using CM7, as we speak I tried using CDMA setting in KDZ and I seem to have gotten a response, will update with whatever method works to unbrick
well after using KDZ method in CDMA mode, with shaking the phone, crossing fingers toes arms legs and eyes, I flashed riginal firmware and unbricked my phone, thank you for the links, after about 8 different pages I managed to get it working thank you all

try 3 button combo home+vol down + power and see if it comes out of lg logo and boot
I'm stuck in the Emergency Mode!! yellow screen with my P500 too.
I tried with KDZ Updater in all possible combinations and got the error "Upgrade error WParam:100. LParam:502" at each attempt.
I tried these rom's: V10A_00.kdz, V10B_00.kdz, V10E_00.kdz, V20B_00.kdz.
With LGMDP THUNDER v1.5, but I run into this error, after pressing the Start (write ROM button): Error! Partition Table.
Help!
I opened a dedicated topic here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17307504#post17307504.

Hello, my P500 is not detected any more by computer!
I looked over the internet and it seems a hardware problem. The phone is charging but cannot be detected as hardware. Unfortunately to resend it to warranty I must first remove Superuser because I rooted my phone. Is there any way to install the firmware once again from the sd card? I cannot make it through a computer because as I said before is not detected. I have custom recovery installed: ClockWorkMode 5.0.2.0. I looked over this forum and found some custom Recovery Zips, but I don't know how to use it. Any idea please? I must get rid of root access so I can return my phone to warranty! Thanks!
Hi people
Today i wanted to go to clockworkmod recovery (through rom manager) to flash the latest kernel of franco (19.4) , but it didn't went to the recovery mode , instead it stuck on lg logo.
I tried the following steps :
1) getting out the battery + sim + sd card.
2) pressing home+vol down+power - didn't get to the clockworkmod
3) connecting the phone to pc , trying to use adb => getting the device not
found error.
None of these steps worked.
The only thing that "worked" was getting to emergency mode by pressing back+vol up+power. If i connect the phone to the pc , in emergency mode, it is still not being recognized.
Please help !!
thanks a lot

Your phone is bricked. Flash KDZ to get back to your original firmware.
Anyway, don't use Rom manager. Safe and easy way to install amon_ra recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13347868&postcount=249
ok thank you
I'm downloading now the original firmware of the phone (it's actually P509 T-mobile)
Still the phone isn't recognized by the pc in emergency mode (i disabled the lg modem in device manager) , is that supposed to be like that ? will the kdz updater work?
thanks

Should be.
Uninstall all LG drivers, make sure that is done! Then restart pc and install these drivers again through lg mobile utilities. Restart pc again and plug your phone to pc. Then your pc recognize your phone.

First it happened to me also. To get rid of this jus t keep shaking your phone from as soon as you connect it to pc to until the software update starts. I know this is wierd but it works only after shaking.
Thanks terratrix,
I flashed 2 OCT v1.1 kernel and my P500 now works like a charm. battery usage is looking good and i OC'd it to 729MHz, but seems my phone is getting hot after few minutes of normal usage.
Thanks.
I know there has been other treads about this before but none of the suggestions seemed to work for me. I searched and searched and I'm just not finding a fix. I hate to do these posts when an easy answer is right there but I just can't figure it out and it's killing me. So here it is:
I just got this Verizon Galaxy Tab that would not come on - only showed the battery charging icon. I just charged it over night and it came on once. However, processes kept shutting down. For instance, when I went into settings and tried to connect to my wifi network, the whole process would just close down. So I let it get to about 40% and reboot it to download mode (there was no recovery). I found the correct .tar file for it and flashed it with ODIN3 v1.85. It completed successfully but now it won't boot past the Samsung splash screen. Once the splash screen comes up, it will just go back to the large battery charging icon in the middle of the screen.
Then I tried the other option where you get into recovery and nothing happens at all. The screen is backlit black (you can just see light around the edges of the screen) and nothing ever happens.
So now, it's just charging but it seems to charge very slowly. I was wondering if this is a battery issue or some strange sequence that needs to be done. It seems to be at about 40% again. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
These are other things I've tried:
hold the power button down for 30 seconds
Hold the power button down while touching the screen
More suggestions would be appreciated.
Now the tablet is fully charged but it still gets stuck on the splash screen when trying to boot up. Still have no recovery. Also, I'm not able to find a PIT file to re-partition. Can someone tell me how to get the stock recovery back at least? I've been looking but I can't find a file to flash for the recovery.
Same problem
Hi, I have the same issue basically. I have the Galaxy Tab SGH i957D 8.9 (TELUS) and flashed it to root last night, now I have the same problem. Except I have CWM installed, I was able to install that AFTER I locked it up. Help from one of the GURUs here would be great. It's obviously a problem caused by flashing it.
So try flashing with CWM, at least you'll have a good recovery on it. If we work together, we may be able to come up with a solution for our dilemma. I don't believe it;s a major problem, I had the same issue with my captivate phone when trying to CWM and Cyanogenmod, and I got it working perfectly, so there is hope.
I have tried the stock rom, rooted rom, and a couple of others, but still can;t get past the splash screens. Left it overnight trying to boot, and all it did was kill the battery. I can;t even turn it off, it just reboots every time I try shutting down. I CAN get to download and recovery mode though, and flash it all I want with Odin 3.7 and 1.83, just never boots past the splash screens.

Thanx for the reply. As you can see, I've been around these forums for a long time and usually I'm able to work it out but this one has got me stumped. Just wanted to ask you if you have tried to flash a custom ROM in Clockwork? Also, did you go through unlocking the boot loader befor you flashed it? I did not because I received the tablet in this condition. I tried to flash clockwork mod but I get an "invalid file" error in Odin. Once I flashed the stock recovery and it worked fine. But after reflashing the stock rom, the stock recovery is gone now. Do you have a link to the files you used? I'm thinking that the stock recovery is messed up but I can only find that one file.
no I haven't tried flashing through CWM, as I wasn't trying to flash originally, I was just rooting and going easy on it, then it wouldn't boot, so I wasn't prepared and now can't add files to my SD drive.
I didn't unlock the boot, as none of the instructions I read mentioned it (rooting was all I was trying to do).
I don't even have a stock recovery either, all I have is CWM and TWRP.
I'm going to try mounting it in Linux and see if that makes any difference to put roms on my SD drive, as windows doesn't like it anymore, except through Odin, where luckily it seems to work fine... For now.. lol
Fixed!!!

I'm glad you got the right firmware and fixed your tab! But this site does not list a firmware for the SCH–i905 anywhere. Unless the Verizon Galaxy tab has an alternate model# there is no firmware on the site for my device. Oh well, at least one of us got tablets fixed. Congrats!
Download mode issue.
What recommendations do you guys have for a tablet that will not recognize in download mode?
I accidently flashed a bootloader and had auto reboot on - couldnt flash kernel and modem in time.
My tablet fully boots up, (rom manager says cwm is installed) as well as when i boot into recovery its completely black.
My main concern is that download mode is not recognized. it was previously working prior to installing the bootloader.
What can i do to fix this issue?

Can you start by giving as much info as possible about your tab, make model# etc.
can you actually get into download mode? Power button and Volume down button till it boots then release pwr.
you may have bad drivers on your pc. I had this problem with my phone when I installed CM.
get into DL mode and then start Odin and hopefully you will see the Com port attached.
then in PDA load the stock rom for your tab.
hopefully at this point youll be all set.
if your tab is fully functional, then try just flashing CWM or TWPR to your tab. I found with mine that CWM works best. I like TWP better for looks and the touchscreen functionality, but I found it gets a bit flaky after a few flashes, where CWM seems more stable.

So i have a sch-i905, 4.0.4 - I CAN boot into normal android
I flashed a bootloader last night and had auto reboot ticked. was not able to install the modem or the kernel.
I can get into download mode without any issues, but now download mode says "waiting for cable" and is not recognized by pc as it once was prior to the flash.
I can also get into recovery but its completely black ( assuming due to no kernel flashed )
I can get into android normally, but cant fix firmware through download mode, and recovery.
Please help :X
side note: rom manager says twmp and cwm is installed, though i get no display in recovery only blackness
if i can get download mode to work again or get cwm to show up i can fix it, but dont know where to go from here.

I don't get it. First, you can't flash a kernel using Odin. Second, your tab won't even be able to boot without the kernel.

If you can get into DL mode, then its probably just an issue of drivers on your pc. Download the samsung drivers and reinstall.
Then put your tab in dl mode. Then connect to the pc with cable, try a different usb port than before.
Then start odin, if you get the Com port showing up in the status box, then flash CWM recovery to the tab. Then start over with what you are trying to do. But I can almost garantee its an issue with drivers on your pc. I had the exact same problem with my phone when I did it,
and fixing drivers was the issue. I wss stumped for a long time on that issue. If that doesnt work, look into Heimdall flash utility or Kies and go from there.
Hope this helps. Or at least gets you on the right track.

dont think its a driver issue.
it was working fine in download mode prior to me flashing a bootloader.bin, and yes you can flash a kernel.bin through odin, as well as a modem.bin.
I was in the process of installing cwm this way when it happened.
I can get into the os, i can get adb working fine, recovery is just a black screen though it goes into it. and i can get into download mode still, just stuck at "waiting for cable" no interaction with device manager

Ok... Im getting confused here... You Can still flash with Odin? Then you can install a new recovery on it. If device manager on the pc is not working, then you probably have a corrupt install, or the wrong rom file for your particular tab, and the usb drivers arent correct for your tablet.
Personally, I would start by downloading a stock rom file and return the tab to factory before starting anything, so you have it working as it should before continuing further.
If you DO HAVE a stock rom, maybe you could pass it along, i believe shawndh who started this thread is in need of one for the same tablet.
confusion fixed

Oh... Well then it is beyond the scope of any problem I have encountered, or seen a solution to. I thought you could still connect in download mode.
Can you change usb debugging mode in tablet settings, that may enable you to connect? If not I dont think I personally can help, as your posts read like you could still use Odin.
On my phone, (galaxy S) nothing would connect after I messed up, but could do things with Heimdalls utility. See if you can connect with that. Worth a try, it does the same as Odin, but connects differently somehow.

Thanx for the reply. I have the SCH-i905 32gb Galaxy 10.1 tab. The carrier is Verizon. I've spent days looking for another download source but I can only find one - there's a link from this site. Others have posted that it did restore their devices so I'm thinking that there are some bad clusters that need to be quarantined but I can't even find a tool for the Galaxy Tab that will do or check for that. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look though. Thanx.

I don't think its a cluster issue, just a bad flash previously. But you'll see from the link, yours is also known as the P4vzw. Well check the link and make sure that's your tab that I found. Then have a look at ALL the files for that tab.
Have you seen/tried this one... here's the thread STOCK ROM FOR YOUR TAB...
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342995
Here's just the file.
http://goo.gl/XPMXv
Try flashing CWM recovery to your tab, and try a file from cyanogenmod
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/P4vzw_Info
Or just try the CM ROM first maybe and see what happens. I don't remember what you have for recovery. There are a bunch on there, but all nightly that I saw, but even that would be better than nothing for now if it works.
I'm still looking, but I know what you're saying about few and far between. I think they all are for the tabs. Let you know if I find anything else.
Another mod ROM. http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/08/...tab-101-sch-i905-android-411-aosp-jelly-bean/
Hello everyone, it's with a great thrill that I found a couple of days back the existance of the beautiful wackyrom available on your forum.
After considering it I took willingly the risk of installing it... and following all indications of flashing cwm via odin and wiping all for of data in the proper oder, I got myself stuck in a pretty unpleasant situation : CMW recovery loop. I tried to start from scratch again and again and I even tried to go back on the stock firmware (which wasn't the original french one installed on my phone but a foreign one). I know I may have made a newbie mistake, but seeing the strength of your helping community Im hoping to revive what now looks more to me like a brick phone than ever. In advance, I thank all attention and anwsers to my case.

Flash this Stock recovery via odin : http://d-h.st/hcA
Instruction:
1) Put phone in download mode by powering off ,home button and volume down while plugging the phone into the computer(if don't and don't understand search google their are many guides and videos for it)
2) You should now see the first square in Odin turn yellow and say "Ready"
3) Click on the pda tab in Odin and select the Stock_Recovery_GT-I8552.tar you downloaded
4) Click start and wait for your phone to reboot
5) Done!
Well, I should have added that to the list of things that I have tried before. The only divergence to your methode is the fact that the keys to force start the downloading mode does not work so I only can acces it thrue a restart in downloading mode within CWM...
I have wiped all pilots/kies traces off my computer, checked rooting of the phone using kingo android root, reinstall my drivers from scratch and yet Odin still dont recognise it.. Does anyone have a clue?

I also have the same problem. I have read all threads from google about this matter, that say flash rom, clear whatever2, blaz bla
BUT, still for 3 days I cant fix it. when it stuck in boot looping or turn off, odin didnt recognise my phone
Dear friends,
Install Samsung kies and it will install all the proper drivers for your phone.
Then use another port of your pc or laptop to connect with odin.
If changing your pc ports doesn't work then try to install kies on another pc perhaps.
After the phone gets connected to pc follow @lols21.10 instructions.
Worth a try.

Also: if Odin don't recognize your phone, try to change your usb cable
Changing PCs worked for me a while back.
not working

not either. because my phone need to be turned on in normal mode when connect to my pc, then i need to choose the usb option whether to transfer files/camera/charging.
and only then Odin say "ready"
Do this: put your device in download mode and then you reflash firmware with Odin.
You can do this by turning your phone on pressing the buttons HOME, POWER and VOL DOWN. When your phone vibrates, release POWER and keep pressing ther other two. A screen with a warning will appear, and you press VOL UP to confirm. After that, you open Odin, plug your phone on computer and select the stock firmware by clicking on button "PDA" at Odin. And then it is just start and wait.
Same Problem
my samsung grand quattro get stuck at cwm too.. it keep booting to recovery mode when phone start up, I cant connect to Odin because I cant access to debugging setting.. HELP PLEASE :crying:
Hello
My situation goes as follows: I'm on a Cyanogenmod 11 nightly, as I flash a new ROM from time to time. So I know how to get into recovery and that kind of things. I've installed TWRP recovery, instead of the CWM one. I'm on a mac by the way.
As I was a little bit fast, I accidentally rebooted into download mode instead of recovery. Now my phone remains that way, only without the info in the top left (normally it says ODIN Mode and four other lines of information).
I tried to get the battery out and to drain the battery, both gave the same result: it booted in "downloading... do not turn off target !!"
I tried ODIN, Kies, Heimdall and adb trough terminal, and even the CM installer; none of these things seemed to recognize my phone.
I've been googling for over two hours now and I'm getting desperate. Is my phone ready for the bricks? I can't go to a shop tomorrow as it is the national holiday in Belgium. So still 32 hours of trying ahead of me...
Any ideas? If you guys have any additional questions, please ask.
Thanks in advance

Removing simcard and external storage didn't work, as well as putting another card in my phone. I'll try the hard reset and come back to you.
Thanks!

Have you tried the hard rester method?
Whilst in download mode hold power button for about 1 minute until it vibrates? Maybe your buttons are stuck.

Hard reset as in tried to flash trough Kies, I can't do anything else, right?
I tried the pwoer button, but it just loops in download mode, without the information on the top left.
I do get it into download mode WITH the information, but than Kies simply says there's no phone attached.

Are you familiar with the PC flashing tool Odin? It's specifically for Samsung devices.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...08-2013-odin-3-09-odin-1-85-versions-t2189539
Download and install Odin onto your PC it will flash a stock image onto your device (No root, Stock recovery)
http://www.sammobile.com
Head to Sammobile and download your ROM firmware specific to your device.
Run ODIN on your computer and connect your phone.
When it recognizes it, check "Auto Reboot" and "F.Reset Time".
Everything else should be left unchecked.
On your computer, unzip the ROM file you downloaded. It should give you something with the extension of
.tar.md5
Press "PDA" on ODIN and select this file.
Everything should be as shown here: http://gyazo.com/fea7a1c8b7a7b5bb287fb0a0c70056dc
Click Start and wait for it to do it's thing. It'll take quite a few minutes.
When it's finished, you're done.
If it hangs on boot ones it flashed, reboot to Stock Recovery and do a factory reset it should boot up fine now, (also 1st boot takes about 3 minutes.)
Let me know how it goes
