UPDATE 11/19/2010 4:00pm
DOWNLOADS INDEFINITELY REMOVED, taking a break from XDA, and don't want to return to a thread of nothing but bug reports, whining, and more un-credited use of my work.
And lastly, I never used to care about people using my work if they gave me credit, but I've found a lot of people re-packaging my battery icons without any mention of credit, or link to my original threads, and its just really annoying, takes barely a few seconds to add a "credit/thanks to xxxx" note or link somewhere in your posts. So from henceforth if you want to use my mods/theme in your own rom, mod, etc. you MUST:
1) ask my permission to do so.
2) you must link back to my thread and provide credit to me in your post
3) your mod/theme/etc. must be for non-commercial purposes
4) you must also share your mod/theme back to the community
Nice. Thanks.
I was gonna try and mod it myself for accurate battery and all but then thought nah Jocelyn will post something in the next few days and her stuff always rocks.
You gonna add in the bluetooth and power menu mods?
Could you do a black mod? This woud be awesome. Thanks!
Thank you very much for this! I LOVE it! The blue really goes nice with my already blue wallpaper and blue glove. The animations are freaking awesome as well!

Hi,
On JK2 the bluetooth toggle seems fixed already, at least for me, when i click it, it toggles on and starts scanning for devices in a popup automatically, so there really isn't a need for that.
And once untermensch ports his power-menu mod and the epic/puzzle lockscreen mod to JK2, I'll add them both.
I know he's working on porting some of his mods to froyo already, and I might look through the power menu to see if I can do it without waiting for him to port it officially, but the lockscreen mod is definitely over my head until he releases froyo specific mod/source.
Cheers everyone, =)
removed I figured it out
awesome work as always,
flashing NAO!
Perfect! Really like the color changes and the window shade look, plus the battery icon. Animations are ok.... Wasn't there a way to speed up animations system wide?
Tapatalk sent this.
Updated the OP with a couple options to switch to the AOSP lockscreen instead of the samsung glass-lock.
Cheers, =)

Hi,
You can speed up animations using SpareParts.apk
I don't honestly remember where I got the apk I'm using now, but you might be able to find it on the market, or likely a CM5.0.8 or CM6 build for the nexus one.
Cheers, =)

Hey Jocelyn -
Actually, the power menu mod is already working in Obsidian V2. All you should need is some components from their framework-res.apk, the framework.jar, and the android.policy.jar, and it will work on the ROM you are using. I have it working on mine just fine (same ROM as you). At the very least, if you get stuck trying to do it yourself, using these files as a reference might help.
Good luck.
can i install this MOD on AOSPish 1.1 ? (JK2, as i know)
just flashed this and got the animations and the color changes but no AOSP can be found. I flashed the latest jk2_matte_with aosp lockscreen. Tried turning puzzle on and off in display but still only the glass lock screen is showing.
tnx Jocelyn

Awesome! Thanks so much for your awesome work, s0niqu3! This what what I had been missing from the JK2 rom!
In Eugene's Macnut R10 build, the baseband is listed as JK2 and I know he ported some of the unofficial leak over to that build, I'm wondering if this is compatible? Has anybody tried? Or what else do I need to look for to check compatibility before I try it. I can restore, thats never a concern, but would rather avoid fc cutting if I can.
Edited: no, no it does not, but i gave it the old college try. hopefully eugene's next build will be more jk2 and compatible, cause i dig s0niqu3's battery mods.

s0niqu3, great mod. Would you be able to make a black version of your notification menu(basically invert all the elements )?

Hi,
Sorry, totally my fault, forgot that most people don't have JK2 deodexed, lol.
Anyway, updating the OP now with a version that should work on people with stock, odexed JK2, please let me know if it works.
Cheers, =)
Updated the OP to atone for my moment of idiocy forgetting that most people don't have JK2 deodexed.
In other words, zip files for the AOSP lockscreen have been re-uploaded with versions that should work for people on stock, odexed JK2.
Sorry, and cheers everyone, =)
Intro
First of all, this is not a module
I'm trying to port Gingerbread's TV screen on/off animation to Froyo. Those f**ckin cool animations are the only reason for me to use GB!. I'm happy with Froyo, as everything works, and smoother feelings.
Progress
- Screen on : Good.
- Screen off : Good.
- Animation when screen timed out : Good.
Release
May 27th, FroyoBeam source is pushed to my github : https://github.com/doixanh/X8Features
Notice
We (the X8 users) spent some time testing the animations in my FroyoBread, and it seems to be good. I modified CM6 source, so it may not compatible with some ROMs. If the compilation fails, check inside the published source and take the lines around "dx" to your ROM's source.
More notice
0. This is a work-in-progress. I don't care that it's on xda-news or not. This is my attempt to satisfy my need (GB animations on Froyo). And I saw somebody saying it should be finished before being posted on xda-news. Did you fully read the news?
This hasn’t been released yet, due to the developer wanting to make sure it works perfectly, and he has kindly asked that you do not ask when it will be released

1. This mod should be compatible with most devices
2. These animations cannot be packaged as an update.zip, because
3. Lots of things are modified inside the CM6 source, not modding xml files and so on, and
4. The "release" that I mentioned will be a source release, and is intended to be used by ROM builders.
5. End-users will have to wait for their ROM builders to rebuild the ROM with patched source.
6. My FroyoBread ROM is built with personal purpose, and for experimenting my source code modifications.
Enjoy, ROM builders and users
Great, so people like the animation too.
Well, what files that related to the animation?
gosh...this is what im waiting for ...old tv screen off..it's gonna be awesome
Are you going to make one specific animation, or are you getting a few of them? Or are there even multiple to choose from?
Also: is it a script that runs some animation files? What are these, gifs, mpgs, avis? Because we could create additional ones and simply replace the animations within the script (if it works like that).
Awesome can't wait !!
WTF guys? Don't spam this thread with something like "yeah I like that..."
Stop spamming until the topic doesn't contain [DEV]
I don't consider my post spam. I'd like to prepare new animations (if I'm able to prepare them in the output format), so I'm asking specific questions.
This is stock screen on/off animation from gingerbread. You can see the clip. It's nothing to do with new animation or output format.
It's hard-coded inside android source.
is it only for froyo? wat about eclair?
I am asking, what files that related to the animation? I want to know, not just saying i like the animation.
Oh, I see. I simply didn't know how it works And I believed that it is still based on some graphic files.
Well then, good luck porting it

You've probably already seen that but just in case
This CRT animation is burried in surfaceflinger an has lots of dependencies on gb changes. Many have claimed this to be impossible... please prove them wrong mate ;-)
Sent from my X10mini using XDA App
Yep I'm trying to do that ;-) It seems that I cannot "take screenshot" to make it as an GL texture for screen on...
aldee_s: it's in the source of libsurfaceflinger. You have to modify the source and recompile if you want to do anything
hoo, then i cannot do anything yet, because i dont have the source yet, cause my connection sucks, hehe, sorry, i thought i can help.
Well, good luck doing it, you're super(module)man.
sorry if you consider my posts here as spam.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&feature=search_result
There is an app that does something similar so it is clearly possible to do, just needs building into the system and then to replace the default power button action
Yeah I know that program. It does not work in case the screen is off after timeout, or when pressing power button...
Lockscreen should be modded for this to make this work.
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
I don't have to mod anything with any lock screen....
/edit : uploaded first WIP clip. Check first post.
Update:
On/off animation is working, but only white/gray color. I still couldn't get the screen content to put into the texture. Will look deeper into this.
I managed to enable the animations while pressing power buttons. When the screen timed out, there is no animation. Maybe we have to look into power management service also...
It there a way to Export the Screen Off Animation from CyanogenMod?
And the Lockscreen also.
Would be Fine if we Could use them in Other Roms.
kind regards
There was a thread here within somebody tried to port the screen off (and on) animation from another guy who ported it to froyo to ur g3. But he had not enough time and his thread was deleted... btw the guy i'm talking about is android.aimad. Pm him if you'd like
I did not see the EXCELLENT work of UPWARDSPIRAL and DON'T PANIC in the I777 threads so I thought I would point them out in case anyone that hasnt seen them could take a look at them. I DID NOT make these or have anything involved with THEIR projects, I AM SOLELY a USER of them since my Captivate Days on CM7 and have continued on my SGS2.The Themes can be found at the link and also available in the market for the CM7 THEME CHOOSER, The DON'T PANICS Morphs that go with these themes can be found at his post.
I personally use Red Remix Theme Chooser Theme from UPWARDSPIRAL and use the associated morphs (BASIC ADDONS,SLIDER ROTARY MORPHS(TRANSPARENT), STANDARD ADDONS, FINISHING TOUCHES,EXTREME'S DIALER, BOOT ANIMATIONS, and NOW the IN-CALL DIALER DON'T PANIC HOOKED ME UP WITH TO FINISH IT OFF). Below are some sample screen shots of their work from my phone or from their pages. Hit up their links and give them Thanks if you like them and use them.
These are the links to their Post for anyone to check out.

I have always considered these themes and morphs as the MOST COMPLETE as far as Looks, Integration, and style.
(I will UPLOAD pics from my phone here so you can see the setup, you can also check out their sites for the full look and feel).
If you have your own screenshots of using any of the UpwardSpiral themes feel free to post them. I have also replied in both their original post so maybe they will copy their post into this forum as well.

Sweet!! I've been wanting a good quality red theme. So much less eye strain (pathetic how much I stare at screens that I need to keep this in mind). Too much working on computers and websites. Gotta save my eyes for using my sgsii!

Just a request - feel free to shoot this down =) possible to do a don't panic for Kovdev's ICS theme which could possibly include the actual ICS lockscreen stuffs if you'd like? that would be huge i know i would tip 20 without thinking lol!
Great work Op! I've been looking for a mod like this! an ICS theme would completely take the cake though - especially with the ICS screen transition that appears to transition the screen (you are switching to) horizontally atop the current screen. Ice cold

I am NOT the dev of these and is why I linked them to their repsective threads. I am just a HAPPY user and been using them for a long time on my cappy and now my SGS2. So I thought I would share them here since I didn't see them represented. So head over to their threads and hit them up.

The transitions thread from the DHD forum works on our devices too..
I have only tried the ICS animation with the rom from tavviu, i bet that u can use it with other combiantions too, but dont forget to backup your device =)
The author claims that she/he updates every week!
