I just noticed android 2.2 (ED01) has no option to disable geotagging in the camera app. This wasn't the case on 2.1 as I remember. Any way to disable on 2.2?
It wasn't available as an option in 2.1. If you don't want Geotagging, go back to DL09 and get the OTA updates to ED03, which disables Geotagging support again.

Is there somewhere I need to switch on notifications for application updates as they become available? Had this on my htc magic without changing any settings, and the hero manual mentions it, but at the moment they only way I find out about available updates is by going to the downloaded apps list.
i have same problem
same issue, its really weird
I have same issue, on both stock 2.73 ROM and Modaco 2.9. The 'show updates for installed applications' is selected but nothing is ever shown. If I go into 'My Downloads' there's often quite a few need updating....
maybe its a problem with the roms ur using try updating or using a stock rom
i always thought that this is the way it should be. i never got any notifications about updates for market apps.
I have a stock ROM and I do not get notfications of updates even though it's turned on.
Same here, no notifications. Perhaps this is a feature that will work with the new market version?
We might have to check with phones running the 1.6 update, that one has the new market right? See if that gives any notifications.
I've found that whenever I flash a Froyo ROM, the apps I had installed automatically download and install from the market. I have to assume this is how Market works with Froyo. Problem is it can take quite a while. Is there anyway to prevent (at least temporarily) the automatic download/install? I'd much rather be able to manually select and download/install TitaniumBackup and restore apps from the TB backups I made.
I generally just put the power control widget on the desktop and turn off sync/3G/wifi. Then run Titanium backup.
Turn off autosync.
During the initial setup of your Google account there is a check box to enable/disable Google automatic sync. Unchecking the box will prevent your apps and Google contacts from syncing upon first running your new froyo rom. Afterwords you can go into setting/sync and enable the option.
Sent from my nonsensikal froyo using XDA App
Thank you. I figured it had to be pretty simple.
I would like something to automatically update my apps for me. Any suggestions
the market should automatically update all your apps, this was added into android 2.2 froyo. just check box each app you want updated.
I was looking for something that would auto toggle all 200 of those for me. I can, it's just a pain. that is what this app did.
I downloaded the ICS Browser+ and thought that I don't need the stock browser any more. So I disable it from the Settings - Apps. Then I realize ICS Browser+ won't work without the stock Browser being enabled.
I tired to enable it back, but cannot find it from the Settings - Apps anymore. Went to the System/Apps directory and tried to reinstall there, it said it cannot be installed.
Anyone knows how I can enable the stock Browser back?
Edit: I found it, when the app is disabled, it is moved to the end of the App List. Now I have it back - nah, now I have ICS Browser+ back.

i'm on stock 4.0.4 rooted.
i disabled the samsung email app from system settings long ago.
Now I went to enable it and the option is not there. Every option is greyed out. It says it is disabled in the list but when i click the app in the settings the dox says 'disable' but is greyed out along with any other option.
Every other disabled app shows the box to 'enable' again.
anyone know how to fix this and enable it again?
thanks
I have the same issue on my HTC device, had the email app disabled for a while, then got a notification for a system update that stated it was for the email client.
After the update I thought I would see what's new, so went to application settings to re enable but there is no option, all other options are greyed out, in place of enable button is uninstall update button, but even that is greyed out.
Did you get any system updates while the app was disabled?
I'm interested to find out why this happened, think its more of an android bug as you have an issue on your s3 and myself on a HTC running official ics
yes i think i did get an OTA system update while it was disabled, but don't know if that could be the cause
anyway, i installed K-9 Mail today to get around the problem (great app btw)
