The Epic is awful. Samsung's UI is really bad and is known for no updates, GPS problems, and bad hardware. I'll take a regular EVO anyday, but the EVO 3D blows it out of the water. Can't believe your comparing these.
I have an Epic and I am saving up money for the 3D. Can't wait to unload this turd onto someone from CraigsList. Haha

The EVO 3D will be Sprints top of the line phone when it comes out hands down and nothing to do with the 3d portion. Remove the 3d and it still leads the pack.
The only reason to get something else would be that you must have a keyboard.
Go for the 3D. You'll have a much more stable phone, and much better dev support here at XDA.
+1 to what everyone else is saying...if you like the samsung id go for the nexus s 4g. No sliding kb (no wobble) and much more timely updates!

The Evo officially had Froyo over six months earlier than the Epic and got a GB leak a couple of weeks after the Epic got Froyo.

SPB Shell 3D just updated their app to include experimental stereoscopic 3D homescreens for equipped devices such as ours. I haven't tried it. $15 is a bit steep, but perhaps others can chime in. doesnt work nice with the EVO 3d.... I beta test for them and the new 3d settings suck.

will you let us know when its worked out, i wont mind the 15 bucks if this works. I dont think the 3vo does well in portrait though.
I will say that even without its more then worth the $15. But that's my opinion. But I will post when its worked out.

No 3D Homescreen
I purchased this app today just to test out the 3D functionality. I enabled all of the experimental options for 3d just to make sure one of them wasn't incorrectly labeled, but to no avail. The 3d home screen feature is only for red/blue which doesn't work on the Evo 3D. If you're thinking of laying $15 on this solely for that purpose, I strongly advise you to wait until this feature is officially released.
Same as the previous post. I played around with the experimental options, suffice it to say you may need an optometrist after viewing the 3d red/blue screens for more than 30 seconds. God awful.

Too bad the 3d is borked. It does look like a decent app, it's too bad they don't do a 7 day trial. 15 minutes is hardly enough to test drive a home screen replacement. Those that use it, please keep us updated.

I bought the 3D shell awhile back for my 4G. I used it for 2 days then uninstalled it. The lack of live wallpapers being the main reason. I saw this thread earlier today so I re-installed it to test the 3D on my 3D. They must have removed the Autostereoscopic Support because the only options were for colored glasses. I tried it using some red/blue glasses and barely noticed any effect. If and when they add 3D support for our type of phones its probably going to suck. Back in the winmobile days SPB products were amazing and much needed. These days their products pretty much blow and with all the stock and available launchers for android they cant compete. Charging $15 for this crap is a joke at best.
loved it on the pro2... now... it isn't the greatest. Has some room to grow. A LOT OF ROOM

I don't see a problem with this at all. Bringing the iPhone to Sprint who offers the best rates out there only means Verizon and AT&T will have to compete. This could bring prices down for their plans. This is only good for the consumer because it gives us even more options.
I don't plan on leaving Sprint anytime soon since I have been with them for over 10 years and get a good rate. As long as the iPhone doesn't mean Sprint will get rid of top tier phones like the EVOs, then I'm fine with the option.
And to those that say Apple makes junk, just go use a MacBook Pro for a few months. You'll probably never go back to a Windows based laptop. I was anti-apple for a while until someone convinced me to try a MacBook. Best decision ever.

I was saying the video was interesting to watch -- if you watched it you'd see it absolutely nothing to do with a new 3d phone.
We kind of all saw the video when it was confirmed to be a prototype..If you look at the other phones on the rack next to it they are all subtly different as they were prototypes too.
It's been confirmed by Sprint and HTC. It's not happening :beer:

Yeah, but you were advertising the thread as a possible new 3D phone. I just don't want people who have a hard time reading between the lines and keeping up to get confused about this.
I agree wholeheartedly that the video is interesting; I've watched it a few times myself. I would just suggest that you change the thread title now that you know it isn't a real phone.

I know this is probably no consolation to you at this point, since the phone has reached EOL and many people are moving on, but they've almost got 3D and Wimax on CM9. It could be any day now that we see a release.

I wouldn't recommend an Android phone unless they already like Android and are ok with rooting because if they like Android and are ok with rooting, they won't need me to help them with their phone.
Personally I've always avoided the IPhone because I can't stand Itunes and don't want to be stuck with that limiting my media accessibility. Once again, my opinion. Must say that I am jealous of all of the accessory options that the Iphone users have.

Also, just sooo excited to see how much development exploded today. Tranquility, Venom ROM, and learned that toastcfh is maintaining the Evo LTE on CM repo wooMFnHoo!!!! I was starting to get skeptical about dev support for this device. Not anymore.
