1. Does anybody know what setting I need to change in order to have the SD cards open up automatically when the USB is plugged in? They show, I just need to click on "My Computer" to actually open them up.
2. Running Trigger 3.3 Beta 2, and unless I'm missing something the WiFi calling app is not included (or, is it, somewhere?). So, after finding one that installed (apparently created by Eugene) the build number says "FroYo.UVJK6.MacNut.R14.Final" and the Trigger version" says "Eugene373_Macnut_R14_Final". Clearly Trigger is installed. Anybody know why it says what is says though? TIA...

Your build has changed because wifi-calling requires edits to the build.prop, you are simply using the macnut build.prop now. If you want to use the old build.prop then add the edits to it instead.
Actually, if you ask Roman he will probably whip up a build.prop for you to add back in when he gets a chance.

Looks so cool!
doesn't look like it has Linux or Mac support.
I have tried Kies Air and Android Manager but they don't work.
My wireless ip that the apps say I should register is 192.168.2.14, but when I do an ipconfig, only 192.168.2.13 shows up. I can't ping 192.168.2.14.
I've tried reinstalling my wireless card drivers and resetting my computer.
Does anyone have a USB-based solution?
Changed the name, because it really was designed for Nookie-Froyo. Removed MediaServer and cache features because they are irrelevant with 0.6.8 and add a force status bar feature which only works if you are on ROM based off of 0.6.8 and status bar framework update.
I wrote a graphic app that views/changes the LCD Density, restarts MediaServer, allows you to see the CPU usage of the MediaServer, and clears the Market Cache and Dalvik-cache. Let me know how it works and what OS you are using? Also, let me know if you want me to add any additional functions.
why would you want to restart the mediaserver?

Thanks for this. I flashed the BT cm7 over #15. I understand there's a dpi that works for scaling with Google reader. I could use this instead of modifying build.prop?
edit: and i presume a reboot needed for it to take effect.

It will reboot it for you. If you need a different density then the ones that I have included, just let me know and I will add it.
Edit: Actually, I could get it to work so a reboot is not needed and the change would not be permanent. Would this be a useful feature to add?

I had to use brianf other app to stop the MediaServer because of youtube keep playing audio. This was with a different froyo 2.2 ROM.
I guess this app has more functions and would also work for that purpose.

i think so... the stock setting in cm7 works to show all apps in the market, but borks greader. it'd be nice if i could manually edit (permanent) the density to fix greader since i use that regularly but then quickly change it if i need/want to see my apps in the market.
tried installing this, says problem parsing the package
this supposed to work on 2.1 rom?
I think we are overlapping at least two other uses of the term "media server" (not unusual in the world of technology), making a web search difficult.
Can someone point me to an explanation of the Android use of the term?
Thanks !

There is a service that runs at boot that handles streaming media. This service is called mediaserver. This app restarts the mediaserver binary when it starts using up the CPU.

@Chubby.........please post a panoramic picture you have taken, as you seem to be the only person to get this working on the Atrix.
I too got an error in cwm, the modified .zip worked. Thanks. On boot up "live logcat" is showing alot of extra pink text, not sure what that means, maybe nothing since Im using the lite version.. Anyways, apk installed. App chrashes on "shoot" too. But the led flashlight works haha.
I don't think it will work for Atrix. There is a SIGILL signal generated by /data/data/com.sonyericsson.panorama/lib/libGmvPanoramaAndroid.so because of unsupported processor instruction.
The code disassembly at address 0x1dc04 of libGmvPanoramaAndroid.so shows:
.text:0001DC04 VLD1.8 {D24-D25}, [R2]!
.text:0001DC08 VLD1.8 {D20-D21}, [R12]!
.text:0001DC0C VLD1.8 {D22-D23}, [R2]!
.text:0001DC10 VLD1.8 {D18-D19}, [R12]!
VLD is an Advanced SIMD (NEON) instruction and Atrix's processor is non-NEON that's why it generates an error when executed and terminates the process.

I snagged this from over at AndroidCentral so I can't take any credit but I figured I would toss it here for anyone who wanted GV on their tab.
Its taken from the Xoom but I am running it on my rooted 10.1 without issue. Enjoy.

you can use something like androzip or basically anything that lets you look into the sd card (or the fake one the tab tells you it has) so you can locate the apk file you downloaded
Works here.
I had previously tried another Voice version (forget from where) without sucess.
FWIW, I emailed the apk - from the first post here - to my gmail account (as an attachment of course.)
When I openen the email on my Retail:Rooted device, "Install" (not "Download") was the option for the attachment.
Agreed to access...and it installed over whatever was there.
Looks the just the same as on my Galaxy GT-I9000 phone. (But 10.1 size )

Download astro or any other filemanager, and then just find where the apk was downloaded. If you try and open it through astro, it will ask to take you to the app manager, where you can install it.
I have installed plenty of apps straight from the browser.
Just make sure you have the option to allow unknown sources to be installed selected, under settings, applications.

My guess is that the one labeled Xoom actually came from a phone as well. It may have been modified to work on Honeycomb but that is only a guess. I do know that there isn't a downloadable version of Google Voice for any Honeycomb tablet. The version I posted is a later release (bug fixes and better battery usage) and required no modification to work.
I've had no issues with the one I posted and it is easy on the battery. Add GrooVe IP and you can do voice calls as well.
Hope that helps,
Andy
Thank you, I now have a giant slab of a phone. Awesome!
If you've not been back to webOS in while, this is worth checking out. The devs at webOS internals have built a community edition of the Luna manger used by webOS.
Great new features. Best (in my view) are the new gestures allowing to switch between apps by swiping in from the edge of the screen. Card stacks can be put in tabs for faster switching too. Behaves like I imagine windows 8 will from the videos I've seen. Definitely worth checking out. Only word of warning is that you must be running the latest webOS version which can be a tricky update with android installed. Nothing too tough.. Something to play around with anyhow
You will also need to enable beta testing feeds in order to download the new Luna. This will require you to remove preware and reinstall
as well as modifying the settings in preware. There are several changes that need to be made but the webosnation forum has detailed instructions for making all the changes.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
good point. I didn't find enabling beta feeds too tough. Worse was updating webOS to 3.05. The ota update doesn't play nice with moboot on some devices. Kept failing. I used webOS doctor to update. That actually removes moboot (not android, just moboot) so I just used acme to reinstall moboot only.

Not sure where the difficulty was for you, but a decent set of instructions are on the webOS internals wiki.

You'll need a computer with a working novaterm installed. From there its just copy/paste. I uninstalled preware then used the novaterm connection to enable the feed and reinstall preware

hdad is right. You can use xecutah/xserver/xterm to do this. Heres a short video showing it running:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDzhOylypv4
You can use this to run the commands. I tried it once before but wasnt very familiar with it so I went the webOS quick install route instead. But if you dont have a PC to work on, try this out.
The process to get the alpha/beta feeds installed though requires you to delete preware. Which, without a PC, is kinda tricky to get back. You can try Save/Restore. Its kind of like Titanium Backup for webOS. But I dont know if restoring it from there will effect the command changes you make. Or download Internalz Pro and email the Preware ipk to your device, I think you can use Internalz to handle package installs.

Yeah, its not the Xecutah part i'd have trouble with, it's the "enable alpha/beta feeds" part. I only have one PC that will work properly with novacom, and its my dads slow-as-heck Windows Vista laptop. I'd rather wait for this to exit beta than risk it(cause I don't trust the laptop)

What do you mean? The ENTIRE process is carried out on the TouchPad from within webOS using Xecutah... using the terminal with Novacom is an entirely different route of doing the same thing
The only thing you use the laptop for is to view the wiki site where the enable commands are... but ALL commands are typed in and executed ON THE TOUCHPAD and not connected in any way, shape or form to the computer....
Hope this helps and gets you on the way to enjoying the new tweaks
By the way... they have updated to LunaCE 4.90
