Can't mount cache errors appearing in clockwork - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well I had just rebooted to recovery and accidently hit the back arrow on my phone and my screen went blank, I then tried to reboot my phone and the Samsung logo appeared but it was stuck at the logo. So I did a battery pull and booted into clockwork and now I have errors stating that clockwork can't mount pretty much anything having to do with cache. I.e. recovery logs command etc. Clockwork still works, I can wipe voltage stats and install zips. Can anybody help me understand what's going on, and maybe know a way to fix it?
Thanks for your help.
I also have the recovery log which shows the errors. I can upload that if anybody wants to see it.

have you tried using clockwork to wipe cache?
also, i have had the 'forever samsung logo' logo before. sometimes i would pull the battery out, put it back in and it would boot up fine. sometimes i had to reflash.
i don't remember having any cache errors in clockwork tho.

Battery wipe help

Hi guys. I have a newbie question here. I am running Auxura 2.0.5 on my vibrant. I would like to recondition my battery but every time I go into Clockworkmod recovery I do not have an option to wipe battery stats. The only options I have are:
reboot system now
reinstall packages
delete all user data
delete cache data
What am I doing wrong here? Thanks for the help.
With this set up right now you have to choose reinstall packages and it will boot into the clockwork recovery screen. From there select advanced and then wipe battery.
Almost forgot I've not been able to reboot phone from clockwork or power menu as it hangs on the Vibrant screen. If this happens just hard boot with the power button.

Phone issue? Or ME issue?

When I had a captivate, anytime I flashed a new rom it wiped my phone. Now it looks like the theme is applied but all my applications, settings, texts, everything stays on the phone.
Also, I just installed the cherrypi rom and I don't have a camera app. Tried reinstalling and still nothing. Does launcher pro mess with roms? Didn't think so but checking...

Happened again, I flashed alien and it changes the build in settings but it doesn't remove anything. Kenn says that it removes bloatware but nothing was removed...

You need to wipe before and after flashing custom ROMs, bro.
If flashing via CWM, wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik... before and after.
If flashing via fastboot, do a "moto-fastboot -w", after flashing the rom.
Alright in CWM I select wipe data and wipe dalvik. It still doesn't wipe anything. I thought this was weird so I asked. I may just do it from boot (hold down after power on, select recovery, etc.). Ill try that and see what happens. Its just going to wipe from internal right?

You have to use tenfar's cwm to wipe. If you're using Rom Manager's recovery then the wipe doesn't work.
The best way so far to clean data is start phone in fastboot mode (turn on phone with vol down key pressed, then press vol up) and using command line send fastboot -w, if you need to delete other partition you can use fastboot erase <partition>, then fastboot restart
Thanks, I know what I did now. I updated CWM from the market and reflashed to a different version...it was working fine after I unlocked my BL, and then I thought it just stopped working. Thanks for the help folks!

Yeah, after manually retrieving your recovery, wipe it properly (wipe partition, dalvik cache, mount and storage-> format system, and factory reset), and reflash your rom.
Paulster69,
Just curious to find out if you were able to get your issue resolved? I see where you posted yesterday morning, but hadn't posted back since.

Can't get my device to boot into recovery...

So last night I rooted my phone using the All in one toolkit. Flashed hyperdrive rom and after getting everything setup I went to bed.
Some apps were kind of freezing this morning so I tried to boot into recovery and it wouldn't let me. It shows the loading recovery at the top then it just boots my phone up. The only way I can get into Recovery atm is by using the all in one toolkit. Anyone had this issue before? I wipe cache, dalvik, and fixed permissions. Still can't boot into recovery without the toolkit.
if you can get into recovery by typing adb reboot recovery in cmd then maybe your finger may be slipping when holing the buttons to boot into recovery.

Hold power + volume up, right when you feel it vibrate, let go of the power.
Yeah I tried all that. I ended up having to wipe everything and flash my first back up when i rooted my phone.... Thanks for the help thought.
I have the same issue. Stock, rooted, TWRP... I can use adb reboot recovery, but using the hardware buttons doesn't work. Any help is appreciated!

[Q] Help needed

Hi!
I have a problem with my LG Optimus 3D (P920). Installed the JellycreamV3 and it went good, untill everything was complete and I restarted the phone as instructed. Now my phone stucks at startup logo. Its been like that for hours but nothing happends? I have tried to restarted it several times without any resaults. Please help me. Its my first attempt to install new android version.
Perhaps your install was bad, try reinstalling it, or maybe you didn't clear the cache, system, data?

- Boot into Recovery again
- Wipe data/cache and go to "Advanced" and wipe Dalvik (yes, this will delete everthing, but you don't exactly have a choice)
Reboot. If it's still hanging
- Boot into Recovery again
- Re-flash ROM
And BTW, didn't you make a backup of your original ROM? If not, well.. you won't go any places fast. Another tip is to go to the thread where you downloaded the ROM and ask for help there. People there have flashed the ROM, and some may have had the same issue as you have now.
I try to go into recover-mode but it just starts up and get stuck on the logo:S I did a backup but no matter how i press the buttons to access the recover-mode the phone just starts up and the LG logo comes up. Then its stuck there
