[Q] Problem in sound quality while ringing... - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello...
I am using HTC Aria from past 6 months. The phone is really good.
Recently from past 2 months, i am facing problem with phone ringing.
HTC Aria has got an amazing speaker in the rear which on playing music provides excellent treble quality.
While selecting an ringtone in the mobile, the speaker is playing the tone in excellent quality, but when i am getting an incomming all, the same tone plays with a very poor quality (no treble at all).
I was using Android 2.1 initially and i have faced this problem after using the phone for 3 months. Later I have installed Android 2.3 Cyanogen 7. Initially for one day, the ringing quality was solved with excellent quality and after that the same problem started again.
I am unable to understand what could be the problem.
Could anyone help me in solving this problem?
Thanks..

[Q] Problem with microphone

Hello guys,
My problem I am experiencing is with the microphone that picks up sound for videos and voice recording. In calls, it is fine, as the gs2 has 2 seperate microphones? One for calls and other for videos/voice recording.
Anyway, the problem started around 2 months back, it then disappeared after blowing into the microphone hole at the bottom. Now recently, it randomly began to not work again, so the same old static/screetching when recording was present, it even started to not record anything at all so I tried to vaccume it to get dust out, and it then started to record static and very distorted audio.
I left it a day, and WALLA! works, but now it has gone back to not recording any audio at all...
I'm not sure if this is hardware or software related?
Any light to be shed on my problem/suggestions would be really great, its still under warranty as well by the way.
Regards,
Carlos
It sounds like it may be damaged. I'd send it back for repair/replacement.
Incidentally, the SGS2 does have 2 microphones, but one of them is used for noise cancellation. It uses the same mic for both calls and recording. If it's 100% fine for every single call, but bad on video/audio recording then it may be that the recording level is a lot louder than the usual in-call level, and that's why you're getting different results.
Incidentally...

[Q] Radar keyboard volume levels and other audio strangeness

Has anyone else noticed that the keyboard click on the Radar is a lot quieter than other WP7 phones. In comparison to a Mozart or Trophy it's virtually inaudible at normal volume levels.
I have also noted that there is often interference in the gaps between audio tracks - a definite clicking sound when the track changes. Also not an issue on the Mozart or Trophy.
And the voice used for text to speech is very quiet when played back via Bluetooth - if I turn it up loud enough to hear it, then it's distorted. Once again, not a problem on Mozart or Trophy.
I've already sent the phone back to HTC who just reflashed it and returned it, but the audio levels are unchanged.
ROM is latest version: 7.10.7720.68 FW 1600.2200.10803.401 Radio: 16.23.02.09_2_16.24.00.23U
Anyone got any similar experiences? Or does your Radar behave differently?
Yup mine too
Sent from my Radar C110e using Board Express
Same here though all phones are quieter than my DVP is. That is the loudest phone on the market.
Damn, that's a shame. Spoils an otherwise very good phone. Think I'll be going back to my Mozart, even if the Radar does have better battery life, until HTC release a fix.
I don't have a Clicking noise when changing tracks... no noise at all...
Im on my 8 day with it and simply love it.. comming from Sensation and Galaxy S2
I don't see my self going back to android from WP7... it simply works better with all the things i need it for...
by the way im from Denmark
I hear quite the opposite. My Radar is twice as lout as my other HTC HD7. Maybe you just need to adjust the volume?
I have a similar problem but not quite the same
Every once in a while the volume on my HTC Radar drops quite low for music, ringtone and everything... if i turn it off and on it goes back to normal levels...

My DVP is still louder than my sisters hd7. That's what you get for placing a speaker on the back of the phone.
Every review i've seen/read they say this has a way better speaker/louder speaker than other WP7 that have been out. maybe your radar is defective? idk
My radar has better sound than my DVP. My DVP was a lot louder before it got Mango update. Although keyboard does seem to be at lower volume level.
What I hate about radar is that whenever I am changing the tracks while playing the music, it's like I have to wait for zune to start playing the music until I can move on to the next track.
I don't think is a problem with the keyboard lower volume. I just love it the way it's, I preferred like that because with my HD7 everyone can heard when I typing. And when I use the audio jack on my car seems to be louder.

Well if im mistaken, I thought this guy had the Focus S, If it was it was pretty loud with the keyboard clicks, a lot bolder sound than my DVP. But I may be mistaken
Nothing wrong with the volume on mine. Although 8tracks and Mixtapes both fail to output any sound at all. =(

i suffer with the 'clicking' sound when changing tracks between music on zune when listening through headphones. its really annoying. I ma wondering if it is because i am using high quality headphones and they are just that much more sensitive than the standard rubbish. Going to try some cheaper headphones and see if the problem is still there and report back.

I've been having the same issue. It was pretty rare at first, but it has been happening pretty much constantly since yesterday's update. I'm doing a backup and restore right now to see if it will help any, but it has definitely been a real hassle.
Song change click noise...
I had the same problem with clicking noises when zune changed songs. I fixed it by going into the sound enhancer under options and turning off all audio effects. After that it no longer makes any kind of clicking noise. Only problem now is playing music seems to drain my battery about 10% an hour.
Have gotten used to the quiet keyboard click but the clicking and popping between tracks is still a bit of an annoyance. Agreed that with all the sound enhancer effects switched off they are almost inaudible. But TBH I think the audio without the enhancer is a bit weak. Have settled for SRS which seems to me to be the best compromise overall.
I have a weird thing with my Radar - the sound from Headphones is very low. I mean you can hear well only when volume is 20 and higher. I checked my headphones and they are perfectly fine. Even tried several others on Radar - still the same.
It's about the same effect with Bluetooth headsets.
I deleted Sound Enhancer some time ago, so I can't adjust boost through it
Then re-install the sound booster silly
I've discovered Sound Enhancer in Settings, but not as a separate app. However, it doesn't increase the volume dramatically

[Elephone S8] Loudspeaker issue

Hello to all,
I got an Elephone S8 for my girlfriend and in general I think you get a lot of phone for the price!
One thing I noticed is that whenever you have a WhatsApp call and you turn on the Loudspeaker on the Elephone S8 there will be distortions in the audio.
It is not hearing an echo or something it is more of a static noise and squeaking that can be heard every few seconds (it is not constant).
Did anyone having that phone also experience that problem so far ?
Same thing here, but only with WhatsApp calls and WhatsApp video calls.
+1 same issue (+ with Viber)
Only with Video call and turned on Loudspeaker
Same Issue

Yeah my girlfriend recently bought this phone too, I found she had the same problem with Whatsapp, skype and google duo voice and video calls.
Same sort of noises, static, video quality was terrible and a squeaking microwave high pitched noise intermittently.
When we switched her wifi off and used her 4g it was better but still similar issues.
The phone is amazing but this is annoying, i hope there is a fix for it as it is quite an important feature.
Has anyone resolved this?
I had distortion and noise issues on speakerphone until I realised I had the phone at full volume. Reducing the volume a couple of notches got rid of the feedback and resulted in much better call quality.
Don't know if this will resolve your issue. Good luck!

I seem to have this problem, I cannot hear anyone on the other end of the phone call, and sound from the earpiece is almost inaudible, even when turned all the way up!
any solution found by someone ?
Had the same issue one PE last update... try just to dirty flash your rom, worked just fine for me...

In call noise/ distortion/crackling

I have bad call quality while in call. There are some crackling noise coming from the earpiece, but that is just happening while in call. I disable the big/lower speaker and test the earpiece by listening voices, music from youtube and everything is fine than, so the earpiece is not defective. Are there some way to improve call quality? I think that this problem is software related. I am on 10.2.2.0 stable. Thanks

Hey, i dont have solution but my pocophone does the same thing, it is pretty annoying. I returned first 2 pocophones because i thought it is some hw related issue, but this is my third pocophone and it does exactly the same sounds as first two did so i think this is just either software related or bad engineering if the phone. Because my old redmi 3 did not do anything similar and the phobe was 1/3 of the pico price.
Sound is like buzzing/static noice/interference, and as you said, only while calling with someone. Tried different providers, reseting phone, downgrading to basic android but nothing helps.
Any solution appreciated
Even I have experienced it...
Noise can be heard through earpiece...
Also echo/noise is heard to the other person in call...
Everyone complaints me regarding it while in call... Also this is reduced whole using earphones
Why doesn't Xiaomi take any actions on this?
Even I'm facing the same issue.
Pocophone F1
I have the same problem here. any Solution?
