Hello,
I want to turn off mobile view in the browser... I've searched and tried the about:debug method but the option isn't under settings after entering debug mode.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Type about:useragent instead, comes up with a menu of UA options.

yeh thats working indeed but the thing is that everytime u reopen the browser or reboot the device u have to go to useragent again. its anoying...but i have nice option for u - permanent use Dolphin HD and u can set it easy in browser options...the browser has extremly nice interface and its easy to use...give it a try..its definitly better then switching useragent everytime u need to see full website..
regards
Good point, I have about:useragent bookmarked.
Is there anyway of making this change permanent? have no issues with the browser but this?

If you type in *#*#4636#*#* you get to the testing page. I couldn't help but notice that when you are done with using the testing page and you go back to the home screen and "long hold" Home, to get the pop up of most recent application used, the testing page is one of those options. If it can do that, shouldn't this mean that it would be easy to make an application of this? Rather than dialing *#*#4636#*#* each and every time.
I am in no means able to develop something like this, but this would be a cool development for those who are not rooted.

i think the spare parts app is already available at the market?
edit: hm, ok.. phone information is missing @ spare parts i think
Never noticed,..you are right.
Nice idea
I beleive you can create a shortcut to the testing menu using Bettercut

Im currently using the ICS Browser+ as my default browser, but when i when press it the browser button i get sent to the stock one. Is there anyway to change this?
I would like to see if there's an answer to this as well. Thanks ahead of time.
Wow, I think this is one of the first questions I've seen that _hasn't_ been incredibly stupid or didn't sound like it wasn't a post by a whiny 12 yr old.
I will dig around this week and see what I can find.

I did a bit of searching and wasn't able to find any threads with an answer...granted, I'm not prefect , so perhaps I glazed over it.

I don't know how to change the row of buttons at the top of the keyboard, but you can create your own custom shortcuts to launch applications:
http://www.androidsupernova.com/2011/12/create-custom-shortcuts-with-asus-eee.html
Search+b launches browser already, but you can change it to launch whatever application you want (including a different browser).

I must be blind..Where is the browser button. I assume you don't mean the normal browser Icon because that will open the original browser (regardless of your default).
When I hit the google search I am asked what browser to open (I haven't set a default browser yet)
If you want that default browser icon for Browser+ then I think you may be able to just change the Browser+ Icon

Funny....I hadn't noticed the browser key. The only one I use regularly is the one that toggles the trackpad

"Setting icon failed! Is your SD mounted?" when trying to set custom lockscreen icon
i'm trying to use the custom lockscreen icons found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690530) to replace the play music default icon on my 4-slot lockscreen within AOKP (latest nightly: 7/1/2012). every time i try to set ANY icon from this package, it tells me the error in the subject line of this thread, and i can't for the life of me find any solution online about this issue and how to fix it. can someone please make my night and tell me why i can't just make my lockscreen beautiful? thanks in advance!
I was getting that also. when I was prompted to select a program to select the icon, I would choose root explorer. when I chose gallery, I didn't get the error. don't know if it'll work for you, but it did for me

I cannot find the option to change my default browser to Chrome within Stock with goodies 1.72. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I think it used to be under the App icon in settings (there was a separate section for app associations) but I don't see it anymore.
Go to settings>apps>internet and clear defaults the next time you search just click chrome instead of internet

Thanks a ton...that solved it.
I recently got the Reno 3 Pro. Great phone so far.
When I installed my favorite launcher, I found out, that there is no possibility to set/keep it as standard.
In app management>default app the content for Homescreen is missing ....
Got the latest ColorOS update.

Strange, I have the home screen option in default app settings as attached.
I would suggest install some other launcher and click home, it will ask you to choose which should be default as checkbox, choose your fav launcher and uninstall the other launcher.

Yes, I did. When I then click the home button it asks me whether I want to set the new launcher as standard launcher - so far ok. When I then click yes, then I get the screen with "standard home app" saying "no app"

Very strange,
Can you try installing QuickHomeSwitcher and see if it shows other launchers for you to select.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.gr.java_conf.ntmst118.quickhomeswitcher
FYI: There are many home screen switcher apps available few are virus too thats why sharing link which I installed and tested.

Thank you, I tried the app, but whenever I open it, it's not going to open but switches immediately to the first screen (Homescreen) of the oppo Reno standard launcher.
What I do now is, I start my favorite launcher and it runs like a normal app. To keep it open, I always have to switch back to it in the recent app list. When I end/kill it, then of course I get the standard launcher Homescreen back.
Very strange for me too, I have been working with many smartphones yet, also rooting and flashing things forwards and backwards but not yet encountered a problem like this
Enclosed a picture of my given default app list where Homescreen is simply missing

I have the same problem. Reno 3 PRO bought in China
i have the same problem but i remember when i received it i could choose the default app to open word excel and pdf files then i did the latest update which is PCRM00_11_A.29_6423cd33 and now i can choose the defaut for message, phone, browser, camera, photos, music and video that all
kernel 4.19.81
I wonder if the problem is not from the last update

Yes, I did, doesn't work either, so I live with this situation, I am sick of trying around. Still very good phone, the real big thing I am missing is the possibility to unlock and use/install custom roms
