How long are you holding it? Make sure you hold power volume down at the same exact time.

I usually hold the volume rocker down before powering up. Try to hit em at the same time is a hard one
Tbolt meatclaws-talkatap
Do a battery pull then out battery back in. Then hold down the volume button and keep it down
press the power button several times that's what works for mine any way.

some times when im plugged into the wall or ubs/computer it doesnt go
If you have the fast power on option checked in power settings I think that prevents you from booting into hboot unless you do a battery pull.

I am stock rooted and would like to my phone not to soft reset when the power button is held down. I still want it to turn on and off the screen but nothing else.... Can any one do that????

You kind of need that if S**T hits the fan with a non removable battery.

Go to Settings>Power>Uncheck fastboot. If you press power button screen will turn off/on. If you hold down few seconds you'll get powerdown option. If you hold down approximately 10 seconds it will do a reset ("similar" to battery pull-reboot).

i think we should find out if a dev can change it to Vol up + Power to make it reboot instead of holding down the power button. thats how my xoom gets rebooted
To hard reset a frozen EVO lte you have to hold the power button and volume down...
I don't want that to change.... What I want is for the phone not reset if just the power button is held down for 10sec.

Hold Up, Down, Insert cable.
Hold Up, Down, Power. Hold till screen appears.
adb reboot download or bootloader - Havent tried that one, just off the top of my head.
If no, then you flashed something way wrong and need a jig, your doing it wrong, or if stock, phone is messed up.

Take battery out, hold volume down and plug the cable. You will enter to download mode. Put battery back.

I've known to pull battery and use normal sequence (vol+, vol-). This works sometimes when it won't boot with the battery in.
Just tested, and this works equally well with only vol- and also with only vol+, as well as with both buttons. Good to know.

Wow, Creepy just learned something new! No surprise that I didnt know it then .
I unlocked my HOX+ today and rooted the phone. All went well, however I flashed my first rom the CM10 international and flashed the kernel, however the phone is stuck at the CM10 logo stage.
I have no idea how to get back in to recovery. I can;t even power down the phone so that I can re-install a nandroid backup of my original rom. The CM10 logo is just spinning around. Normally I would pull the battery but!!!
Help please
Devices with non-removable batteries have hardware key combinations to manually reboot the phone. With the One X+ that combination just so happens to be Power Button + Volume Down. Just hold those keys until you see the hboot screen.
Thanks.
It took several attempts of holding down those buttons, eventually it restarted and I was able to access recovery.

Just holding the power button will reboot phone, once the phone vibrates then hold vol down aswell. I find thats the best way to get back to the BL after a bad flash

Ah, my mistake, thanks for the pointer.
edit: woops! Posted this from a friend's computer. Thanks nonetheless.
hey guys i got a EVO 4g LTE, was on JellyBean. I followed the root/recovery/bootloader unlock thread. did everything fine, and everything was ok. then i did a nandroid back up, wiped everyting and installed a MeanROM-ICS-v65-jewel-ltevo rom on it. now it wont turn on! wont even boot into recovery. When i hold the power button it only flashes the bottom 3 key (back power and double square) same thing when i do power and vol down, only flashes the 3 key and thats it. Am i screwed?
If you have lights then you are not bricked. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds until they stop blinking before releasing power press and hold volume down. I then release power continue holding volume down and you should get into bootloader

I rooted and flashed custom ROM to my HTC Jetstream. I installed the custom ROM via CWM by Doomlord. When my device went to reboot it tried booting once then the screen went black. The power is turned on. The orange light comes on by the power button. Then goes off. It is fully charged. And when I hit the power button the LED light flashes.
press and hold for 30 seconds or so.
if that won't do, hold vol down and power 2gether

Already tried that. Now if I connect it to my computer it gives me the QHSUSB.
