So, as the title suggests, is there a hack for the browser which allows you to view all pages in desktop mode? I tried the about:debug mode but there was no options for the UAstring as were in 2.2 froyo.
so my question is, is it possible to view pages in desktop mode in default browser which i find the best browser out there.
ps. first post

Hi all
Whenever I restart my phone my default browsing setting will go back to custom (thru about:useragent). I have set it to desktop view but it always reverts.
Im on default browser. Any encounter?

Hi,
In the dev section, you will find a way to fix permanently the useragent.
It's the only way to avoid return to stock useragent when rebooting.
Perhaps you could use Alternative to the stock browser, like DolphinHD witch could do the same easier .

+1 I have been trying to figure this out myself.
You could type in about:debug into the address bar and then go into the setting to switch the mobile mode into the desktop mode
But once you close the browser or restart yur device you will have to do this all over again..

IMO, abandon that ship and do one of the other browsers. I use Dolphin for Tab.
Yeah Im using Opera but for some odd reason the sony browser seems a bit snappier on sites it DOES load in desktop.
tablet s default browser is faster than any of my tablet browser... but rite now on my tablet s im using opera n the default browser once in a while...

Sorry I was too lazy to type the whole path, here you go
Once you type in about:debug
Go to setting(top right corner), then you will see the debug option there which you dont see it normally, go there and you will find the option UAString. Click it and choose desktop.

My old Palm Pre used to do the same thing if I didn't let it load the whole page...

If my cursor is still blinking in a text box ie. Search bar or login i cannot scroll without jumping back to the text input but if i click outside the box first i can scroll no problem

I used to see that with the original (2.3.4) stock ROM, but I haven't seen it yet since I switched to Unnamed. I'll give your fix a try if I see it again, it's very annoying!
It only ever happened to me on google search results.

There are two ways of doing it:
1.
- Open your stock browser or chrome or Firefox
- bookmark your favorite website.
- goto bookmarks, long-click on anyone and select add to home screen.
2. From your launcher.
- long click, select add shortcuts,
- choose bookmark and select your favorite one.
With method two, you must have previously bookmarks that page on your stock browser at least.

Is there any way I can make the Popup browser to open into Chrome instead of the Android Browser? Are there any alternate Popup browsers available in Playstore that enable me to open up the browser of my choice?

Use flux browser you can find it in the play store
Edit: what do you mean by pop up?
If you have more than 1 browser it will prompt you to choose the browser before you open a link, just press just once so it will not be default
A simple THANKS button would suffice

Thanks I'll give flux browser a go
S3 Has a mini browser that opens up as a pop up window. You can move it around while not opening the default browser. This usually happens when using Google search bar.
When you press the expand button it takes me to the default Android Browser. I am looking for an alternative that would let me open Chrome instead of the default browser when expanded

I don't think there are any other popup browsers. I did not find any.
Thanks for your reply
I can't believe no one has thought of a good customizable Popup browser
