Since I can't post in the thread on the Developers section yet, does anybody have an issue where no matter which Notification sound you select, it will only play a certain one (as in, it never changes, even if you change it in the notification sound setting)??
I have it set to play "Pursuit" but it keeps playing "Gamma"...

Actually it's a good thing you posted in here. This is where it would belong not in dev. I notice sometimes this happens randomly. When I reboot it goes away.
I just did a reboot and sent a text from my fiance's phone and it still didn't play the right notification. This is the first "issue" I've had with a dasbamf ROM.
Got it fixed. In addition to setting the notification tone within the Sounds menu in Settings, I had to set it in the Notifications section of the Personalization menu.

I am having an issue where the notification tone i have set will only play for new gmail. Exchange emails play the 'Alpha' tone. Anyone else having this issue?
Having the same problem here. I changed the default notification sound under sound settings to "bubble" and my active exchange account still plays alpha. There is no setting within the exchange account to set a custom tone.

From the main screen press the personalize button (lower right), select "Notification sound", and set your email notification tone from there. It should work - I think this is new in Sense 3.0 (I initially discovered this using MikG's rom for my Evo 4g works on my 3d).

i am running senselssrom 2.1 so the "personalize" function is stripped out because of the lack of sense, so this is not an option for me. so i have to change the notification sound by going to Settings>Sound>Notification Sound, but this still plays the "Alpha" sound. all other notification sounds are easily changed, but i can't figure out why this one won't work. i haven't had any luck and any help would be greatly appreciated.

you'll need to fire up sense for this as far as i know. Not sure if there is any other way.
i thought about doing that but it doesn't quite make sense (no pun intended) because this is the exact same way that i change the phone's ringtone and that works. if i was unable to change the ringtone, i would completely agree, but i can change that freely just not the exchange email notification sound.
I have recently moved to an S3 after years in iPhone land. Its been mostly great, the S3 is a way more open and powerful platform. However a coupe of small things are driving me nuts.
All I want is my phone to vibrate and ring at the same time for incoming calls. Vibrate and play a tone when an SMS is recieved and neither vibrate or play a tone when an email is recievied (but still pop up the icon in the notification area). Seems simple enough, but it appears to be impossible on the stock phone. The only setting covering vibration in the Sound menu is "Sound and Vibration" but if I tick this the damn phone vibrates for all notifications, even if I have the notification sound set as "Silent".
The most frustrating thing is that is seems vibration settings per app used to be there in the S2, but have been removed in the S3. Now the Messaging and Email Apps do not have a specific vibrate option, rather it is all controlled with the global "Sound and Vibration" option.
My other annoyance is there is no easy way to control the brightness from the notification area (with out installing a crappy app). Once again it appears the S2 had a slider right on the notification pulldown, but for some reason this was removed?!?
I have used up all my Google Fu and have no answers. Can anyone suggest how to do these seemingly simple things in the stock rom, or suggest an app or even rom that has these features.

You can fix that in the messaging app settings. Messaging -> Settings -> Notification Settings. Tick Notifications and then select a ringtone. If it is still not working then its a bug, try rebooting the phone.

Thanks for the suggestion.. it gets quite close to what i want if you use the status bar shortcut. Just wish it could put the slider *right on* the status bar.
I think that saying it's a mess is a bit melodramatic. I have mine set up exactly as you describe. Maybe you need to play with your in-app settings a bit more ...

yup i already did this. looks like my unit needs to be replaced.

If i were you i'd do a factory reset.
Before i got my phone i had heard issues where notifications either wouldnt appear or would appear even when there is no text and various other issues regarding sound etc
So to make sure i didnt get any of these issues as soon as i got my phone i didnt a factory reset straight away and i haven't had any issues.
I've set my phone to silent and vibrate. The SMS notification vibration duration is annoyingly long on the S3. Is there a way to shorten it?
I use volume control + pro, and everything is good.... Give it a try

I have exactly the same problem. Since i get a lot of mail every day, it's annoying to have vibration enabled, but disabling it in global settings disables it also for SMS :/ I don't think there is a way right now to leave it enabled for SMS only.

Same here, I set up mine almost exactly as he describe and no problem at all.
So after all this discussion, has anyone figured out how to disable just the vibrate alert for the stock email app? I still want notification in the taskbar, just no vibrate.

No problems at all. As has been said, you need to set your notifications in the in app settings, not the general sound settings on the phone.
To start, go into the phone settings and select sound, and then for notifications set it to silent. Leave sound and vibration as checked.
Then use your in app settings to set you sound and vibration for notifications. I haven't used the stock email app, I use the gmail app. You have to go into the settings for each individual app, but you can set a custom notification sound and vibration for each account. I tested this with two of mine, having vibration on for one and off for another then sent some mail. It vibrated for the account with vibration on, and did not vibrate for the one with vibration off.

OK, just out of interest sake I set up an email account using the stock email app and while it does have custom notification settings for each account, it does not give you the option to disable/enable vibration. So, to me, it appears you can not turn off the vibration in the stock email app without turning it off for the whole phone.
I would assume your only choice would be to use a third party email app if this is important to you.

I'm on stock everything and it works fine. Only thing I had to do is install an app to get some specific mp3 ringtones I had made. But I do have the option for different types of vibration for different contacts or groups, the silent mode works and the custom vibration also works.

The normal behaviour is to control the volume of media with the Bluetooth headphones, but with the Mate 20 Pro it's independent, so you have to adjust 2 volumes!
How can this be possible?
Samsung gives the option to change this, Pixel 2 XL also doesn't work like this, same thing for iPhone, OnePlus....
Can it be changed? Is there an app for this?

you mean the notifications that pop up on top of the screen or there is a notification that says "displaying over other apps" that you can't slide away?
I think there is an adb command to get rid of all pop up notifications (but not sure if still works on android 9.0), it will still vibrate/make a sound and the icon of the notification would appear on status bar.
If it's the second there is an app NCleaner to block unwanted notifications per app but not sure if that is a system notification or something that if you block would block other wanted notifications.

Lots of these things can be solved. As for the bluetooth volume, oh boohoo you have to use two volume sliders?
The displaying over other apps can be removed like every other version of android. Slide it across, press the settings icon, and turn off the notification.

Quite honestly I'm ok with multiple volumes. Why? Because when I go from one device such as my xb950 to my car, they use two different volumes. I just wish I could have ring ton and notification tone control
same here, lacking the setting to control ringtone and notification volumes independently ....

And also is it just me or is the bluetooth music quality really poor. I have good headphones and they sound like their 12 dollars. I did come from sony though
So I thought I would start a thread since this seems to be the best app out there to replace our missing notifications LED. This seems to be the best solution at the moment but I'm having some issues.
1. I can't seem to get the colors to change on a per-app basis.
2. The edge lighting around the notch doesn't seem to work.
Has anyone else figured this out or have any other suggestions?

In settings for the app, give it the required permissions, scroll down to the blue box that says "enable app and its color and time", select the app you want, check enable edge lighting, (I have only checked out One Color) then tap the colored box, and select the color you want, and press Choose.
Been playing with it today. Works well enough that I paid. One remaining concern, is effect on battery so we'll have to see how it behaves tomorrow.
For the ring around the camera, enable "notch support" under widget settings and make sure you have either "around all screen" or "around notch only" selected under lighting above.

Try the system apps checkbox. The UI isn't the greatest and it took me a while to get mine sorted out, but seems to work really well one configured.

System apps checkbox in the AOE? Didn't see this option. If on the individual app, I've set all notifications to on
I've been playing with the notch ring only cause is what I am interested but it somehow disable Always Display and dont know how to get it back... I just want the led notch ring notifications
Is it me or does this app have an archaic setup process? It just looks so dated and hard to use.

You can set the time that it shows up and also there is a repeat option as well.

I can't get this to work at all on my s10. wanted to it flash different colours (with screen off) for variety of notifications (Skype, WA, Nine (email). Messenger). None work. can't get any light to come on at all....is there something I'm missing!?

Thanks - all good. Seemed that Nine was supported as Samsung email works fine as does Whats App. To me this is a 100% solution to the no LED light so happy days..

Why the hell does this change all the time?? Every damn time I want to change the sound notification it's either moved or I can't find it and it turns into a 20-minute ordeal to find it every single time. Where in God's name can I change the sound notification for the Twitter app? It's not inside the Twitter application unless it's very well hidden. It's not under aps inside the settings. Where does this always get moved and hidden??

I would first check in the app itself. If the app has no option to set a special notification sound, you may have to use the system's notification sound.
Settings - Sounds and vibration - Notification sound.
