I tried non-sense for a while, but the Sense Smoothness, Widgets and syncability have me coming back, especially with 2.3 and sense 3.0

BAMF 1.63 was very solid when I was running it. Running the beta 2.0 they have now. I haven't had too many issues with it but nothing like their 1.63

I have Das BAMF Remix 1.6.3 and things have been running smoothly as well. Sense/Stock was also smooth and stable, but I have heard that some custom kernels/ROMs can improve battery life (and hearing some complaints about the Thunderbolt's battery life, I wanted to make sure I optimized it to the best of my ability).

I am running cm7 and it is fairly stable but a bit of work to get working. I can't wait for more updates.

Well before I rooted my phone I love sense but then rooted it I been looking for a no sense. I try bamf and its so good I had the no sense but then try cm7 didn't get 4G working I went back to bamf it took me about a day to get 4g back I was running 1x, after that haven't try cm 7. I like it but the keyboard is so tiny.

BAMF 1.6.3 has a de-sense zip you can flash with it but there are not many no-sense ROMS out yet. The CM7 is in the alpha if you want to try and work with that for a while.
I cant wait for a full stable AOSP ROM to come out but for now I am using BAMF 1.6.3 de-sensed.

If you like Sense 3.0, I'd give Sense 3.5 a try. BAMF SoaB is an awesome Sense 3.5 ROM.
I actually prefer Sense 3.5 over 3.0. I just find it to be smoother and more fluent.
Ok do I need to just back up just apps before I flash a Rom thanks
For your help

Yes back up your apps but also it may be prudent to do a full nandroid backup from recovery mode.

Liquid Roms
I have been using Liquid for a couple of months and I am very pleased, very smooth and fast. They are updated very often and right now I am running Vigorsense 1.1 it is a Sense 3.5 and it has been running great with the new radio having no trouble getting through the day with moderate use.

ROM

I have a rooted Thunderbolt with CWM recovery and Das Bamf sense 3.0. Is there a ICS ROM for the Thunderbolt? If so, which is the best with sense and beats audio?
And is there a way to get the NFL app from Verizon to work with root access? Thanks,
Kyle.

Pretty soon R3DS is going to have an ics build up and running. As of now I don't think any of them are very good. You could try protekks build but it doesn't have working data.

Thunderbolt Users Unite

Hello Thunderbolt users, I need your help with something. I finally convinced my girlfriend to rooting her Thunderbolt, now I need to know what's the most recommended ROM for the Thunderbolt, it needs to be stable, no major bugs, what do you guys recommend?

It depends if she likes sense or not. I've been running eternity which is a sense 3.5 rom which runs excellent, stable and fast. And for aosp I've run thundershed cm7.2. Very quick and stable. Another cm7.2 based rom to check is the new rom zombie. I just loaded it up and so far is awesome. Has a nice red theme to it.

That 3.5 Rom drains crazier then a rat in outhouse. In ten minutes lost 10% then lost more about the same rate. This Rom needs to be fixed.as that is not stable. Seems as is stock os the best on the battery, and that is sad. Also your my Verizon app won't work which is another area of concern with limited data and shared plans we need to have an app that works. UNACCeptable people to have those two issues. My Verizon app is not.bloate as it gives vital account information.

Once again, the fool is wrong!
My Verizon works fine on Eternity....
Guess you just have to know how to click an icon and enter your user info.
I guess that's too hard for some people.
Dont listen to this idiot. He doesn't know how to set a rom up to save his life so don't pay attention to what he says. He has been banned twice already. Eternity gets better battery life than any rom i have tried. That includes stock which has horrible battery life.

You force me to agree with the troll, damn it! I have to qualify your statement with: 'which eternity'? I was very happy with 248 but when I updated to my battery life dropped down to 5 - 6 hours(!) with no change in the setup.
I'm getting over 14 hours of battery life with Gingeritis 3d by comparison and the phone is getting the same or more use.

Yes, r248 had better battery life then the latest test builds.
Why is that you ask?
As I stated in the Eternity thread, the newest build has a test kernel from Ziggy based on the latest OTA, as is the new test build Rom.
That kernel has an identified and known issue where the Performance and On Demand governor are locked at Max, no matter what you do.
The solution:
Change governor to Lag Free, or install Imos 6.2 kernel for Mr4 based roms, or the Bamf 3++ kernel.
Then apply your preferred CPU settings.
Battery use should return to as good or Better then r248.
The new kernel in the Rom is being reworked currently to resolve the issue.
So, the concern is with the kernel, more so then the Rom.
As far as Gingeritis having better battery life, I don't doubt that any Sense 3.5 Rom is going to be somewhat more draining on our devices/batteries.
Im talking about r248 but i still had decent battery on the test builds.

Your explanation is very much appreciated but......
I never thought I'd say this and it's subject to change from hour to hour...... I'm pretty much stuck on Gingeritis 3D, getting up in the AM, subjecting the phone to fairly heavy use and seeing 50% battery or more remaining when I go to bed is something I thought I'd never see after abandoning my BB for Android and.....
I seem to have lost my enthusiasm for messing with this phone for some reason? Every thing works now with Thunderstick BB or Eternity or Liquid or ???? and the only reason I change from one ROM to another is some minor annoyances and battery life so.... I think maybe I'll leave well enough alone.
I'm saving my flashing desires for when the devs get ICS with Sense 4.x, I'll don't think I'll flash ICS with Sense 3.x and I might just wait for Jellybean?
I have about forever left on my contract and then we'll see what's up.
So it changed as I said it might! Tried the Bamf kernel and battery life is back to normal.
Up until yesterday I had been running the Thunderstick GenII rom for the last 6-7 months (been running Thunderstick roms since last September..when Verizon bricked my phone with their update). It is a very stable Sense rom, and the only issue I had with it was my custom ring tones would sometimes get confused. The only reason I upgraded was to try something new (now running Thunderstick FullBlown) and I am half tempted to go back to the GenII just because it has some features I like that the FullBlown version does not.
Been running ThunderStick ROMS (FB, BB) for a good while... They just work on my phone. YMMV. Flashed SfKCM7 (AOSP) last nite and it runs real smooth... Gonna ride with this til I get the itch

I have been running urban nonsense forever. Everything works and I keep telling myself I am going to go to something else but I never do. I think the dev's (R3D's) roms are all great actually. Check them out.

No matter what rom I try I always end up back on Skyraider. It's the fastest sense rom I've ever used.

What is YOUR Daily Driver?

Hi guys! Just wanted to post this little thread to get some discussion around here. Just post what rom you use as a dd, and why you think it's the best! I'm using CM9 at the moment, and it's been pretty good so far

Stock, lightly themed and tweaked by yours truly.
Why? I just like doing things my way, change what I want to when and how I want to.

ARHD 3.0.1 w/ Faux's kernel. I can't keep up to date with all of his damn kernels lol. Need data and bluetooth to work before I use CM.
Used cm9 for a little bit but it isn't stable enough for me, also needs gapps preinstalled to prevent play store issues (those issues don't always happen) so back to super sayain 3 untill I finish up speed rom 7 or cm9 gets data going

+1 I do expect Sense 4 with data.
Fourth Bar Jellybean. Its basically AOSP with the option of having sense apps mixed in. Its win win in my books.
Speedrom! I can't wait for version 7! Although, as soon as sportstar gets data working on CM9, that will be my daily.
Fourth Bar, I'm loving it so far. Enough that it lured me away from speed rom. That rom just never played right with my phone.

[Q] best aosp/aokp Rom? Stability+feature filled

I'm looking for the best aokp or aosp Rom I can find but I can't find one that doesn't slow down after maybe an hour of using it.. any suggestions?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
I'm a little partial to CounterShrike myself, but maybe I'm not the most objective person. Apophis and I have spent a lot of time packing as many features, enhancements, and bugfixes into as we can. It's not as feature packed as AOKP, but it's steps above stock CM9, and I haven't had any stability issues with it.
I have to agree with shrike. I've been running project rachel (1.2) since it came out and it has just the right amount of customization options while still keeping it pretty stock AOSP. I've had no random reboots and it actually holds mobile data much longer until an airplane toggle is needed than other aosp/aokps I tried.
I just haven't gotten around to updating to 2.0 as there aren't many imperative updates (afaik)
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Thanks I'm on aokp right now.. I'm still trying to decide between aosp or sense
Sent from my HTC Rezound using xda premium
AOKP has stability issues on this phone. I've never gotten it to run well. Any of the CM9 based builds should be much more stable. You'll lose some customization options, but the stability is worth it to me.
I'm tempted to go to stock rooted.. everything works.. I can't get video to work on joelz viperrom and countershrike has some underlying issues I don't like
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
What issues are you having? I've squashed all the bugs I know about, except the ones that are in AOSP in general.

I've never tried a custom Sense ROM because I had fears of HTC Sense being a battery killer.
hence why I like bare bones AOSP stuff
