[Q] Latest stable fast MOD - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Eugene 2.2 mod for about 6 months now. Either with age or third party crappy apps, my vibrant is starting to see more errors. I believe its time to flush and reinstall. Suggestions? Also, do i need to go back to stock 2.1 or can i just format?

CM7 is far from bug free. If it was stable, they would've released a Stable version.

I wouldnt say its far from being bug free. There is really only one issue and that is gps. Battery has improved a lot since the early cm7 days.

If you're able to sweep issues like 2g/3g toggle, mute/unmute to hear, various wifi staying connected problems, etc etc, then yes you're correct.

But the only issue I have is gps and im fine with that. Plus I dont have mute/unmute prob or wifi prob. Its my daily driver. Ty cm7

The mute unmute is not a problem if you shut your screen off immediately after answering the call. Either by locking it or letting the ambient light sensor do its job

i already know about flash notify, but this would make great use of the light up capacitive touch buttons underneath the screen.
Flash a kernel with BLN support and search for BLN control in market

i flashed bionix v twiz w/ voodoo....does this have bln support? and if not, what good kernels are compatible with bionix v?
i don't really wanna flash a new rom until a stable GB one comes out
bionix doesn't include a bln kernel. keep an eye in the dead horse kernel thread in development. Eugene may have a final version in the next few days
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I'm waiting for ttabbal's. Test version 1 is over in team whiskey forums and for testing purposes it's pretty solid. Voodoo ext4/sound/bln/oc/uv/color...ULF seems to cause problems for most.

ran into some problems...i flashed both test34 kernel by eugene(supports bln) and the kb1 modem.....lost all my apps, and data wipe.....first, had a boot loop problem, fixed, then came up with no application storage space....just recently fixed it, i think the lagfix interfered with something......but its working now.
and i use bnl control....i actually think that blinky was the problem.

Does this MIUI player work on your 2.2.1 rom?

This is the MIUI music player, i want someone on any 2.2.1 rom to check it out, i've been having some phone call issues with MIUI and am planning on switching it, but i love the MIUI music app so i want someone to try it out.
It'll be attached with this post.
please list the ROM your using.
I am running bi winning and the player runs just fine. Im am actually considering jumping up to MIUI. Tell me ur opinion. What call issues did you have. I tried cm7 for a month so im assuming it has the same issues.

I always used Miui as my stock music player when I was putting out Loki. It works with both 2.2 and 2.2.1. I didnt test the one you posted here, but the app works. If yours doesn't, you can either grab the one from Loki (if you still have it the rom) or I can post the app for you if you need it.

[ROM] MIUI 1.6.17 (fascinatemtd) TEST#2 [6-18-2011]

This is built from JT's CM7 and MIUI.US base
THANK YOU JT, without whom none of this is possible.
THANK YOU #miui-us, for guidance, hosting and a base to start from.
THANK YOU Nitsuj/TSM for encouraging me into playing with this idea.
Working:
Calls!!
[*]Bluetooth!!
[*]3G / Data
[*]WiFi
[*]SMS
[*]Camera/Camcorder
[*]USB mass storage / sdcard
Not Working:
Sensors/GPS/MMS
Calls/SMS during deep sleep are not waking up the device to ring.
This app will prevent your device from deep sleep which is of course a batter drain, but you will receive calls. If its worth it or not is up to you.

[Q] what is the difference in Vibrant and Vibrant MTD?

I'm rooting a friends phone for him and i was just about to flash CWM from ROM Manager but i don't know if i should flash Vibrant or Vibrant (MTD). what's the difference?
Vibrant (MTD) is for Cyanogen Mod 7
unless if you're planning on flashing CM7 RIGHT after that, then do the regular vibrant option.

Honestly im running the latest nightly of cm7, applied the gps fix, and am running the glitch kernel....
Everything is flawless. Gps locks fast, no force closes on anything. Stable and smooth. No more in call audio problems.... its come a LONG way. Gingerbread really is pretty much stable at this point if youve tried it.
You can always try the latest nightly and if you dont like it flash back to something else without a problem.

Here is a link to the glitch kernel. There are three different kinds here is the one which is usually the best and most stable:

Here is a link to the gps fix. There are a few steps, but if you take your time you should have no problem.

If you want a REALLY stable rom with not a lot of bells and whistles apart from the standard tweaks, Zendroid 2.0.1 with Bali is an excellent choice for a beginner (its what I started off with) and has excellent battery life, especially with it's generally dark colored theme.
Im sorry but no offense. At this point, roms for the vibrant aren't very originally.
I've found that all the gingerbread roms are based purely off CM7 at this point, even burgertimes roms are based from CM7 source.....
CM7 really is the way to go at this point. It's more than stable enough as a daily driver, and if you know what you're doing it's even better.
Can't go wrong with CM7 these days.... Anyone who tells you otherwise i'm just going to have to believe is a fool...
Hey why not go with Bionix, it's only 10 years outdated now.
