Hello guys
Sorry for all these questions. But I cant reply in the original section. I installed the [ROM] [21-05] Xperia TW 007 soon + Testversion [CM6] [Tweaked+Theme+Extras] ROM, and everything looks amazing, except for one small thing. My WIFI doesnt connect. It gives an error and I have no Idea what it is. I tried to download a wifi driver but no improvent. What am I doing wrong?
Ive got baseband 54 btw
tried dev tools>bad behaviour>crash the system server?
Where can I find dev tools? Thanks for your answer btw
I actually flashed another rom cause wifi wasnt working on this one. But its a bit too buggy for me. And from what ive heard cm 6.1.3 [v006]. might be one of the best roms around.
Should be in the app drawer if its included in the rom

I'm looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911364 and cannot work out if I've downloaded the correct file from the 2nd post or what to do with the rar once I've unpacked it?
I've already had a play with z's free x10 b3 & b4 & wolfbreaks CM6.1.3 v05, and I'm up to speed on flashing baseband via flashtool, so I'm not totally new to his, but I downloaded from the third link in the 2nd post and extracted but cannot find a zip file to use with xrecovery.
Is this ROM installed differently? Am I doing something wrong?
Any help woud be greatly appreciated!
look for: Update.zip
When you extract the .rar file there shoiuld be a file called update.zip. This is the file you can use from within xRecovery.
But why should you use v10. v11 is out and some of us experience less WLOD's.
v11 works for me, also with update.zip.
Good luck!
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go at some point this week.

ei,
Haven't done it myself yet but the instructions provided by geppie sound sound like they would work. Which bit you struggling with?

I'm on the newest version 2.2.1 from Cyanogen right now.
Whats the different with this one?
I mean not the differents between 2.2 and 2.3 but: what is working already in 2.3?
There are camera issues. The camera app isn't working which means that you will not be able to take images.
You will experience random system reboots.
Basically for me 2.2 froyo rom us more stable than cm7

Thanks for the info.
I will wait till the 2.3.3 version is more stable.
Having done a bit more reading I think I'll stick with CM6 based ROM's for now, let CM7 become a little bit more stable!
Hopefully it'll be before SE release the 2.3 update
Knowing our devs it definitely will be : )
Yeah, I'm fairly new to these boards but I've been pleasantly surprised by the speed of new releases and updates for the ROM's that I've been using.
I'm still in the procss of trying to decide which ROM is best for me, so I'm having to go through constant reinstalls of all my apps and so on which is a nuisance but worth it for the improved speed & functionality!
psx you should use "my backup root" for all your apps so you dont constantly reinstall them.

There's ways around that?!? Will look for that in the market right now, if it works then you've saved me no end of time & hassle!
Cyanogenmod 7
Hi, is there a link to a guide to install Cyanogen on my x10. I have gingerbread 2.3 at the moment and my phone is rooted. Need basic info.
Thanks
Hi, I recently installed CM7 Rom with BB 54 which is packed on the same zip and is working great besides know issues as camcorder and cammera itself and a couple of things...
For example:
- Im having issues with google googles... if I want to take a pic the image will be all distortionated...
- Cant use the dots at the bottom (right and left) to move arround my "desktop" cuz AWD loader will crash.
Well main issue Is the GPS here... I cant make t work. I have radio ok, Wifi ok, etc. but google earth is taking forever to find me...
I have tryed some patch's that I found crawling on the forums and the CM7 thread itself but im not able to find answers so far... is it possible to have CM7 + BB 67?
Can anyone lead me to the right forum / answer?
P.D. Yes... i have searched in these forums / yes I have used google B4 posting this ^^
are you also using a diffrent custom kernel since the default one is made for cm7 is baseband 52>

Im a douche sometimes... I forgot to post that info, here it is:
- Baseband : 2.0.52
- Kernel : 2.6.29-zdzihu-mod3.60 [email protected]#1
- Mod: CyanogenMod-7.0.3-X10-J02
- Comp: GRI40
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I have tryed Freekernel and thanks to your question im going to try Zkernel right now... I'll let ya know what happend ^^
At the end I just was ofuscated due the constant failure and the new kernel & BB are working like a charm, GPS troubles are solved now..
Now im having some other issues LMFAO... phone is constantly rebooting and such... im going to keep trying. I can see the light now xD
thanks rtblittlebrown
i downloaded cm7.1 ...edited the file to get the error7 correct...and installed it wid xrecovery...but the phone got bricked....i managed to recover....but now i want to flash it...so i want to know which is the best rom and how to Flash it properly..
thanx
Take a look at the 3/4 most used ones in the developer forum and try them all. There are plenty of guides on the forums how to install custom roms and which one you prefer is subjective. From personal experience, Slade's GinTonic and the GingerDX Rom's are both excellent.
I use the MiniCM7 Pro now at its release v17 (with v18 incoming). It works very well: it's fast and very customizable.
To install it you need the CWM.

thats your problem.. all roms are for ClockWork Mod recovery aka CWM...not für xrecovery !!!
if you ask me: MiniCM7 is the best!
are there any major bugs in miniCM7 from ur experience ....i now know how to install it properly....and wat about Slade's GinTonic and the GingerDX rom...are they better than miniCM7 ??...btw thanx for the help..
3G and MMS
I have miniCM7 - problem dont working 3G and i cant send mms.
Must bugs people are reporting are personal issues and not general problems with the ROM's. Only way to figure out which ROM you would prefer is to try a selection.
For me, GinTonic has been the one running the most smooth.
Install CWM
Install a ROM and test it
Go back into CWM and take a backup of that ROM
Clear the phone
Install another Rom
If that's better, backup that one and test another.
Then when you have figured out the best ROM for you, restore that backup on your phone.
I installed the GingerDX v17, but it seems that the wifi just stopped working for some reason.
Im thinking about installing the Flame.E, but its beta.

Yeah, my wifi doesn't work either.
I used both MiniCM7 and Sonystyle. Now I'm using GinTonic and I'm pretty satisfied with it. But I will give Eyama's roms a try, just to be sure wich one is better for me.
Like stated before, install each one and make backups, it's very easy to switch roms according to your needs.
Now I read that with the Flame.E the wifi works properly, so, ill give a try on that. crossing fingers for a beta!
GingerDX V14
The only ROM that I've tried so far is the Froyobread, it's 2.2.9 but it does the job until i find a version of 2.3.7 that suits me, the only bugs i found with it are minor like the lock screen animation isn't quite in the right place and the SYM menu in the messages sometimes bugs out, other then that the wifi works, the camera fully works, dual touch it's all there
I've installed MiniCM7 v19...i read many comments on development forum about problems with wifi, but in this 2 days of test with this rom no problem for me.
This rom is fast and very stable in my opinion.
ps.with v16 i had problem with wifi, but i solved them deleting the file wpa_supplicant.config in data/misc/wifi folder
I´ve GingerDX V17 and it works great! very smooth and no battery drain
There is a very "reduced" rom 2.1.1.Clean.0.0.the tweaked version of it is mod black v1.6 from flex96 from pfonck and if you like a lot of options try gin Tonic.SE from slade87. Juste read carefully the Faq before you flash a rom

MiniCM7 seems to be the best rom but i feel it has a battery drain problem compared to sonystyle V10.
>if you want smooth and fast ui with no problems then MiniCM7
>If you want long lasting battery life with a lil less performance than
MiniCM then Sonystyle V10.
Hope this helps.
MiniCM7 is all right for daily usage, it really depends of you. Try 'em!
For me, Slade's GinTonic.SE works great and very smooth.
Hey Good day all, my WI-FI is not working, with the FeraLab v3. When tried to access it , its says error, not sure if anyone one else have have tried it but its not working for me. I really love the work that I'm seen in this ROM, one thing tho, the menu background is way to dark and not the best, if you could use the theme background that would be nice. thanks much
P.s I'm new and i have no idea were to start with build Roms Help.
Hi I'm using FeraLab v3 also, it's an awesome rom but I had a wi-fi problem too. I flashed the wi-fi module for the kernel I'm using, Doomkernel v6 and now it's works fine, even though the instructions say I didn't need to. You could try reinstalling the rom or flash the wi-fi module for the kernel your using. I've had some minor issues after flashing the rom for the first time and had them fixed after a reinstall.
As for the background, it is dark but I like it. As for changing the theme you could flash a new one, but it may alter things in the rom, not sure, can't help you there, I'm way too much of a noob still

what kernel do you have? most of the times is for the kernel unless the rom has a bug in it, try to find the kernel version and in all versions the developers post the wifi modules too, as a zip file, follow the instructions and flash it, in 5 minutes you will have your wifi back to life.
Flash relevant WiFi modules for the kernel u using.

have you tried doom's wifi module??
if you are using doom's kernal you can update doom's wifi module via xrecovery

Remember to do a few reboots before installing patch, then install patch, theme then start the Rom up and do a few more reboots.
That's how you should really finish on installing it

i'm on Lions Pride ROM till now..
yeah..i know maybe it was old, but it's perfect (for me)..
cm7- if you can live without HD video playback
Fera V20,Donut HD --- complete stock roms with everything working
X10S- good Xperia S port
achotjans V2= complete Xperia S rom build( might have bug)
try feralab v20 final (the unlocked bootlaoder version). there is a locked bootloader version too (but since u unlock, maximise ur potential
i flashed it recently. the installing user interface is kinda cool.
I am really impressed with MIUI 2.3.2 cobrato. Really stable and standard kernel is OC to 1.114GHz. I am loving the shake to skip option especially when playing music.
I bought the extended battery - 3600mAh from ebay and I am getting a solid 3 1/2 days with medium use. Downside is that you can forget about the zoom function with MIUI ROMS.
Everything works for me even the wifi tethering.
Try it.
