[Q] Hebrew on the Galaxy s2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have the generic Galaxy s2, with the latest firmware installed.
I also installed Hebrew language pack and Any Softkeyboard from the Market.
I can type Hebrew in my phone, but if I send text via sms to another phone which is
Hebrew enabled, it comes out as gibberish. The Galaxy s2 suggests putting the input on automat, but such a setting is not available on my phone.
What do I have to do to be able to send Hebrew text properly?
Many Thanks.

Go into messages (SMS).
Then enter settings (inside the messages SMS app).
Then scroll down to input mode.
Change it to Automatic.
This should solve your problem.

Hebrew on Galaxy s2
Problem solved
Thanks

Same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem, only when I changed the input mode to automatic it resolved only the outgoing text messages problem, but when I receive Hebrew text messages I still see only ***.
Any ideas?
Thanks

[Q] Sending Japanese characters in SMS?

Has anyone been able to successfully send Japanese characters in an SMS using their Atrix?
I've tried 3 or so different IMEs (Simeji, MultiLing, and something else), with no luck. The characters appear and enter fine, but when I hit send, nothing happens...
Also, the characters appear fine in gchat, and emails and such, and are able to send just fine. The only problem is in sending SMS.
I doubt it's AT&T, as the iphone can send and receive said emails, and a buddy of mine is using an HTC EVO, and he is able to send and receive using the same IME (MultiLing) that I'm using... I can even receive his texts in Japanese.
Upon further research, I came up with a thread on code.google.com http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3393 . A random fellow (in post 55) stated that he fixed it by changing the input mode in Messaging-->Settings--> Input Mode to Automatic (or Unicode)...
Now, the Atrix doesn't have a setting for this in the settings menu. Does anyone know if there is a secret registry setting where this could be toggled?
Anything helps!
Thanks,
-Casey
It's AT&T. They strip bits so that all that gets sent are the lower 7 bits. Pointing to e-mail doesn't apply, as that's a completely different protocol (SMS is the only one piggybacking directly on GSM).
If you take your current phone over to Japan, you'll magically find that you can start receiving texts in Japanese... until you go back to AT&T.
Have fun!
not the case my friend sent me a text in japanese because i am japanese cant read or speak it since i was born here in the states but i used google translate figured out what he said and replied in japanese if u long press the translation it copies and simply paste in text

Call conference not working on my S2, issues with long sms

I got a Galaxy S2 from Korea, and currently in India, initially I had this problem of not being able to send messages, while I can receive them and I had to change some device setting and that works, partially.
Recently I tried to conference calls on my phone and I don't see a merge/conference option in any form or setting. I called my operator to make sure they have not disabled it and confirmed it to me enabled. Any thoughts suggestions would be great!
a second issue is wrt sending sms, while I had to change sms prefs to CS (Circuit Switched) from PS (Packet Switched), I cannot send longer sms, it converts them automatically to MMS and just displays that its sending constantly and nothing more happens .
I am using the default ICS Stock ROM provided by Samsung Korean variant.
PS: I would love to know the hardware differences between the international version and the korean version, I seem to have NFC while the others did not seem to have, These possible driver mismatch is a concern to flash any ROMs.
Thanks,
Rv.

Amazfit GTR 2 caller ID bug

If your watch show only caller number and contact name as "unknown contact", try to set phone language to english.
I set phone language to english (from slovak language) and watch show caller ID correctly.
After set phone language back to slovak, watch show again "unknown contact".
I sent in-app feedback, hope they fix it in some future update.
(Sorry my english)
Hello. Language was already in English on my phone and could not get the contact name on the watch when I was receiving calls. I tried several language changes as you proposed and got back to English, but still no "contact name" displayed.
I finally solved the problem by disconnecting the bluetooth and pairing again the watch with BT. The moment the pairing is required on the phone, there is a small box to tick just below asking if you allow the contact details to be transfered with the BT connection. I checked the box and now I'm having contact name displayed on my GTR2 when phone rings
I have the same issue with GTS 2 on my Iphone, specifically Whatsapp calls can't identify a caller, while the name shows after the call is done in Notifications. Anyone knows how to solve this issue plssss?
