Hello,
can anyone give me some hints (setting or extra app) how to deal with the mess in the gallery and album name(s)?
I have for e.g. a local HDD dir with name "holiday_2003" and plenty of subdirs.
In the gallery I get a separate album for each directory (instead I want a single album with name "holiday_2003")?
Also my music picture(s) are shown which I would not like (I mean cover art etc.). This may come from separate cover art files from within the music folder(s) and there may be no workaround.
With the Samsung gallery App itself there are not really many options to set this up.
Otherwise I would have to go into the SD card folders and clean everything up which waste(s) my time ;-(
Any advice or better gallery App I could use?
i did -
plug in phone goto sd card create forders pictures music notifications videoes etc
place your photo albums in pictures then they show indavidual folders in gallary same for albums just put ur music folders in music folder etc etc

How do i show album art of my songs in tf3d music player.. sorry if this has been aswered but the only that comes up is for wmp... thanks in advance for the help yall!!!!Also i notice scrolling through the music the music pictures dont flip up or downwhen scrolling
Yea I'm kind of interested in this question too. Can't seem to find an answer to this specific question. Do you have to use (sync with) WMP to use the album art feature in the music tab of TF3D? I created a music folder on my microSD card and just dumped all my music on it. But it doesn't show up in TF3D, and I have to access the file to even play it.
Thanks.
I sync music to my phone using WMP on the computer, and it embeds the art on each track, so it shows on TF3D. You may also try the how-to in this site: http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?t=23550
Wow, that article is a really complicated way to say, just drop an image in each album's folder on your device and name the image "folder.jpg".
I just looked at the sample music and saw that's how they did it.
i messed with my profor a long time until it paid off......
usinf total cammander go to the file wherethe music resides
make sure you gave the album art there
whatever the name is rename it to folder
then make a copy of it and name it hTC_AM_AlbumArt
soft reset and it should work
it did for me

i had trouble doing this at irst but i finally figured it out.very simple.
1st, get mp3tag and install
2nd: run mp3 tag and search for music files on your computer(your songs)p/s save all songs on computer and not on phone
3rd: download jpg files of artist for your songs, try to download the album jpg files(you can name it whatever you like)
4th: using mp3tag,edit each song album art by importing the ones you have downloaded for your songs i.e j-lo :love don't cost a thing(download either an ordinary pic of j-lo or the album cover for that song, call it whatever you like)
after editing the the songs album covers, exit mp3 tag
5th; open wmp and play your songs, save them as a playlist or several play lists.
sync PLAY LIST to you htc touch pro,and reset
off you go
In the music player I get a lot of files I dont want there. Is it possible specify which folder to look for music so I wont get a stupid notifications sound or something else when I am shuffle all songs?
I want the same for the gallery app. I dont need to see all the icons, pictures used by games etc in my gallery, just the pictures take from my camera and from a specific folder.
There isn't a setting to block folders from being scanned. I remember reading a review for an app last week which lets you pick which folders you want scanned.
I don't remember the name, if I find the link I'll post it here. Think it was free.
I use StudioKUMA .nomedia manager (it's free) to control what folders get scanned.
Not sure if anyone can help me.
I have just invested in a 32gb sd card for my S2 and transferred my music files over from my Cowon J3.
I sort my music by having firstly an artist folder (compilations go into a various artists folder) and within the folder I store the albums by that artist, so ArtistA:Album1,2&3 Artist B:Album1, etc.
My Cowon lets me browse these folders, so I can go down the list of artists and then pick an album by that band/singer etc (by searching folders:J3:[music]:artist folders).
Unfortunately on my S2, it sorts by artists (which is inconvient as it lists all the artists from compilations), albums (but it lists them alphabetically, rather than grouping and listing them by artist) or folders (but unfortunately it seems it ignores my first level of folder (i.e the artists name) and lists the folders alphabetically by the album names, which again means the albums aren't grouped together by artist).
I have downloaded winamp and although I can search for an artist, it still isn't what I really want, as I like to scroll down through my artists and then pick an album.
Does anyone know of a music player that would allow me to browse my files by folder, in the same manner as my Cowon?
Many thanks for your help.
Try looking in the settings options in the default sgs2 music app. You can select "folders".
I've tried that, but unfortunately it lists the album folders, rather than the level above (artist folders).
If there was a way of setting the Artist function as album artist rather than song/track artists, that would fix it.
Poweramp supports folder browsing, so does uberplayer. Personally I use poweramp, it's amazing.
Many thanks Robafet, PowerAmp is exactly what I was looking for and I love having the option to have the player on the lock screen!
Looks like this is going to become my first ever 'paid for' app, just need to make sure I don't lose it now, as I'm unsure how to back up my purchases, lol.
once you purchase something from marketplace, you can download it as many times as you like I think.
Hi,
I have following problem. I have a pretty big music collection on my SD card and there are also album art images. All these images are displayed in Galery or QuickPic. I want to tell the media scanner not to scan for images in this folder. Is it possible?
I know you can put a file called .nomedia in any directory and it will be excluded from media scanning. But I want to exclude only images and scan for audio files. Is it possible?
Use a photo hiding app like Hide It Pro and hide the album art works and it wont show up in gallery !
Thank you for the suggestion, but unfortanately it doesn't suite my needs. It only allows me to select pictures from directories one by one. With thousands of directories it is something I don't want to do. I checked other similar tools but they worked the same way. They didn't let me to exclude from galery a whole directory with all subdirectories. Do you know any tool which ca do it?
I got my spare battery and 200gb SD card from LG. I decided to put all my music collection on the card that way I dont have to stream it, which sometimes I cant in bad service areas. I put a lot of the music on the card and see that the album art is now showing in the gallery. Is there a way to exclude these images from the gallery? It has added a bunch of folders that are not needed.
Any info is appreciated.

Using a file manager, create a file called .nomedia in the folder that contains the album art. You may need a 3rd party file app from the Play store, not sure if the stock one lets you create files.
Edit: I just noticed this presents the music player from recognizing the music as well. I feel like I've done this before tho.. Lol
Album art file should be named albumart.jpg and they won't show up
If you use a tag editor to load the images ( this may require you to transfer them to the internal memory then back to the SD) then you can delete the files all together.
