[Q] Recovery after FACTORY RESET - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear All,
I forced to preform a Factory Reset to my HD2.
I made backup from my contacts and mails. But forgot to backup 2 EXCEL files.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO RECOVER MY DATA?
It's critical for me.
Thanks in Advance

Not sure of any such way. Storage technology is different on phones and on disks. Still look for any software you may find for it. Or check your PC for the files.
One solution is to take those files from the PC, if you have deleted them from PC, then run file recovery on the PC, there's hardly any efficient way to recover from a Phone memory.

Recovering from My Storage (internal storage)
1. first and most important thing is, after losing your data DO NOT COPY ANYTHING to your device or it will overwrite the current data (yes, the data still exists but the pointers were deleted)
2. download Active Recovery: http://www.file-recovery.net/
3. download nueMassStorage (or any other USBtoPC app. you can find a guide for it in this thread so you can choose the most compatible software for you if nueMassStorage doesn't work): http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/pag...ssStorage.aspx
4. go to start/settings/connections/USB to PC and mark Mass Storage (USB Drive) instead of Activesync
5. Soft Reset
6. connect your device to your comp. the device will be read as a storage card.
7. use active recovery to recover from Removable Disk

I don't think that's possible dude.
Used Recovery Software for PC's, but in a phone? I highly doubt.
Regards.
You cannot recover from memory only from storage and thats Phone in Windows explorer when connected as USB in mass storage mode .

I thought it would be possible to map a drive letter to this GT-9100 > Phone.
I also don't have access to the microSD card, but if i remove it and stick it me card reader then it will appear with a drive letter.

I ran into the same issue. Download a program called FlashCrest Undelete. It lets you plug your phone into the USB drive and restore deleted files. I was able to restore a bunch of pictures that I sent to the trash can.
just google FlashCrest Undelete
Buy a software called Undelete For Root Users 2.0 for the device. It's great.

Hello,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S2, running android version 4.1.2 (unrooted). I never had an external SD card inserted therefore the problem below is related to internal storage on the phone.
I recently plugged my phone under USB mass storage mode onto a laptop that prompts me to encrypt external USB storage devices. I accidently clicked “enter” to encrypt, but immediately – within seconds – unplugged the USB wire from the computer.
I now get a notification on my phone that says “Damaged USB Storage – USB Storage is damaged. Try reformatting.”
Storage does not recognise my internal storage at all. (see image attached)
Trying to connect via USB mass storage to PC does not work. (see image attached)
Other thoughts: The drive never got encrypted (99% sure). I think the problem may have happened because I removed the USB while it was in some operation.
What I’ve tried so far, and failed:
Connecting via USB mass storage to PC.
Connecting via USB debugging.
Tried both above options in Safe Mode and regular mode.
Tried to re-encrypt/decrypt the drive (computer doesn’t even recognise anything to encrypt/decrypt).
Tried to check disk for errors using chkdsk in command prompt on PC. It says “Cannot open volume for direct access”
What I would like is to recover my data from the internal storage on my phone. I haven’t tried formatting as my main goal is to recover the data first.
Thanks for your help!
well most people commit this mistake!
1. If you had mistakenly clicked enter you should have let it do its work and when it was done you could have reverted back with easy steps mate.
2. I personally had this kinda problem (not coz of encrypt prob)
3. You've mentioned that loosing data is not your mail goal. but after all these you must sacrifice something to get your storage back.
4. Since your are unrooted got to sock recovery (volume up + home + power) and do a factory reset and clear the cache (you'll loose all your apps but 90% CHANCE THAT YOU WONT LOOSE YOUR PERSONAL DATA 10% CHANCES THAT YOU MAY LOOSE.
5. Since your external is working you can always backup your apps with TB (titanium backup)
6. And yes this helped me fix this problem.
7. Incase if the problem still exists we'll think of another solution

Thanks for the response!
And yea, in hindsight I regret removing the USB on impulse like that! I should have let it finish the encryption.
I'll definitely give this a try later on today. I know when I reset my phone - sometimes the data is wiped, but sometimes it isn't. It's totally worth a shot.
I'll keep you updated on what happens.

[Q] LG Optimus G (E971) data recovery

Hi All,
Had to do a hard reset on this phone. Now I'm stuck trying to recover my lost pics/vids/contacts that weren't backed up. I have the Rogers version of the phone which only has internal memory. I have it rooted successfully and have installed USB mode switch app from the play store in order to switch to UMS mode. From what I've read about this phone, since it only has internal storage, it isn't possible to mount this as a drive on my PC even with the 2 prior steps. And the data recovery tools need it to be mounted as a drive. Once connected and UMS mode turned on, win8.1 disk management tool sees it as a hard drive (with 0% free space) but won't assign it a letter so the recovery tools don't see it properly.
Any suggestions on how to perform a recovery here?
Thanks.

Recover photos from internal memory storage on Nokia Lumia 800 WP 7.8

Hello everyone!
Since week I've been desperately trying to get data - photos - back from my wp7 (nokia lumia 800) - from internal memory storage. The data was erased by Zune - with 'erase the Phone content'. After this acccident the phone's data hasn't been yet overrided. The data theoretically should be into device. This Nokia hasn't got UMS - USB Mass Storage mode.
My question is if there is hope to recover data? I've visited a lot of forums and I've tried the following steps:
A. Under Windows:
1. I installed MTPdrive and its equivalent PTPDrive. These programs didn't see my phone after connect it by USB.
2. I modified windows registry keys by regedit - Nokia Lumia 800 switched on MTP in 'My Computer'. It is appeared but it isn't by any recover data programs.
B. Under Linux - Ubuntu:
1. I attempt to recover photos by Foremost tool. I used mtp-tools and mtpfs and then mount device by command mount -a. I see my Nokia Lumia 800 and I have access to files at device. Unfortunatelly Foremost can't read the phone and didn't recover anything.
2. I read that mtp is protocol and it is too high level to manipulate it by any data recover tools. If I understand well there is no option for seek deleted jpgs with mtp protocol. This must be mounted as a drive /dev/... .
3. Can I mount internal memory storage like a drive but not like a mtp? Is there a way for parse mtp to drive file system or sth like this?
C. The Application installed directly on windows phone:
1. I heard about applications which can be server on the phone (Samba/WebDAV File Servers) . Then it can be mapped in Windows as a network drive (with letter) but I worried about overriding data on internal storage and I wonder if the network drive will be recognized by data recovery tools?
2. I can't believed there is no way to get access to this data on phone, I have cached data in Zune directory on my computer but in low resolution. Maybe this could help for recover photos from device?
I will be very greatful for any help.
