Restore factory settings (kernel version, baseband version, build number).
Is it possible to restore all these version numbers? I ask this, because without restoring the original state of my phone, I might lose the warranty for my galaxy s2 phone and I think I am going to need it.

That does not seem to help. I ODIN-ed the stock kernel (KE1) , but, how can I change the baseband and the build number? They dont match.
you need to flash a complete ROM, not just the Kernel to get these back to stock.

I hope somebody can help. I would like to know if anyone has a stock Android 4.1.2 XXEMG4 ROM for download? That is already rooted to flash.
I would like this to be able to go back to stock purely to have the choice and without having to re-root or losing modem efs and the imei.
Is it possible? Has Anyone done it? I am a bit new to the phone, but any insight appreciated.

Stock rom of your choice and root and recovery via PhilZ recovery is the simple answer.
Basics read first.

JJEgan Please clarify
thank you all for quick responses. I would like more info on JJEgan reply if i may. It sounds too easy.
1. Basically i restore stock formware and load up
2. Install PhilZ Touch recovery the way its explained.
3. Install Root_SuperSU.0.98.Only-signed.zip via recovery
and its all safe and done and rooted with recovery.
Is that right? Then edf imei etc all safe?:victory:
also would this work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868004. stumbled on it by chance.
either way i have some options? The older Versions?

No idea what you want super su usual method would be from Play store .
EFS if you are rooted now then back it up now if not after step 2 above .
edf imei etc all safe>>>> safe not 100% nothing is 100%
The rom you link to is not stock as its added.
All apps fully Deodexed
Rooted with SuperSU
Fully Zipaligned
BusyBoxed
Insecure Kernel
init.d support
Updated Adfree Hosts
As said MG4 onwards changes EFS layout this means that you dont flash an earlier rom or modem .

Onwards not backwards is the rule regarding MG4 .
FE7 NO
MJ1 would be yes
brilliant
Ok. I think im going with your original answer. To preserve samsungs original firmware with extra root and recovery. Then play with slim bean rom but have the option to go back. Seems far safer.:good::victory:
many thanks for all your help on this.

Hi,
I just upgraded my Galaxy s3 (i9300) to 4.3.
I hate this update, I want to go back to 4.1.2
Can anyone please help me with a safe method to achieve this..
You can downgrade using Odin. Get your preferred stock ROM version from www.sammobile.com, then flash it using Odin to the phone.
Just a word of advice, get a 4.1.2 firmware with mg4 baseband or higher to avoid efs and imei corruption.

Thank you for your response. I have attached a screenshot of the version I selected from sammobile.com, kindly check.
I checked online and found that downgrading from 4.3 could corrupt the EFS and IMEI as you told.
In order to backup these I need to use EFS PROFESSIONAL (which requires root, but mine isn't rooted.)
I have a question. Like you said I have selected the most current version of 4.1.2 (in which PDA says : I9300XXEMH4) released on sammobile just before the current 4.3
Can you kindly confirm if I can proceed without rooting my phone in order to downgrade it to 4.1.2 ( without running into EFS or EMEI issues)
In other words, Can I proceed through odin and downgrade to 4.1.2 without any EFS issues with the firmware version I have selected?
I really appreciate all your support, please help..

You Flashed DEVIL KERNEL?
If you did http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/kernel-devil2-2-3-2-omni-cm-samsung-t2528624 the first flashers LOSE Their baseband too.
Try to read the thread on how they fixed the problem. Are you running on CM? Dual Boot?

Bump for me
Flash the full stock rom for your country with Odin then factory reset in recovery. If efs is not read by the stock rom then restore your efs backup.
No backup then you'll have to pay for a repair.

If your IMEI is 0049 or null, try to use a patched MG4 modem first. Revolutionary roms don't have modem in them so that can cause some issues occasionally.
Let me know if it works.

Hello There,
I think the problem is the rom itself, i advise you to degrade your phone to its stock rom/orig rom and find a better rom.

Well my IMEI seems to be normal,it is not recommended to post it here?
Ps there is a way to find what was the original ROM of the phone?
Ps the imei shown on the phone is the same of the one shown on the back of the phone
Is this a good thing? Means no corrupted imei?

- I would recommend never to post imei anywhere

What means this dude? The two files are too old?
You suggest me two different?
I have 2 Galaxy S2 phones.
One is stock and the other is rooted.
I would like to make a complete backup including the android OS plus the baseband firmware and restore it on the other phone which is rooted.
I am selling these phones and want to keep them stock.
The rooted version has some problems and I want to keep it stock.
Its an
GT-I9100M model
I found a program that can do a backup but it doesn't include the baseband firmware.
I already searched for the stock firmware but its not available anywhere.

From what I can gather (And please correct me if I'm wrong) you want both phones to be on the completely stock firmware before you sell them? What you can do is use a program called Odin, and flash the stock firmware (Including baseband) for your model which can be downloaded from here. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help you out!

What you could do is install a custom recovery through Odin on the unrooted phone (Such as CWM), then using the custom recovery make a backup. Transfer this backup to the other phone and flash that through a custom recovery. Then using Odin you can re-flash the stock recovery to each device, unroot the device you rooted and your setup will be back to stock. Let me know if you still have questions on anything I mentioned.
Hi,
After flashing stock s3 rom my sim card is not being detected. i know the sim card works because i tried it on another phone and i have a feeling my efs file has been made corrupt as my imei has been completely changes to 0049xxxx. Also i cannot connect to any wifi network but theyre being found . ive looked everywhere and found no answer. Please help me on how i can fix it.
I'm guessing that you made no efs backup? Do your phone's cellular functions or wi-fi work while running a custom rom? What kind of GS3 do you own (i9300 or i9305?).

You cannot go backwards to 4.1 with out a efs v1 back up. Somewhere in 4.3 samsung updated it to v2.
Without a back up you can only use the latest 4.3 and upwards.
