I can't seem to get firefox to work on my hdmi modded webtop over 3g.
I've done some searching and found a few posts suggesting that i turn on the custom tethering apn. That didn't work.
Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
I am having that exact problem I can't get on wifi either

In addition, my phone is rooted, lag fix installed. I also took the sim out, connected to mifi2200, but same thing, cannot surf. Any ideas? Thanks.

Any automated programs to hack the 3g hotspot app? The droids have the team black hat patcher that you flash via cwm. Shouldn't it be just as easy to do for us instead of the manual method on a pc?

Check in the themes and apps section for an app called Quick Settings. I tried it and can confirm the wifi hot spot in that apps works. However I have done the manual hack as well.

I thought that app only activated the hotspot app, not hack it

You can use qpst to adjust your phone settings. This is the hack you want, it works. You gotta follow some directions... search the forums here, or droidforums, you will find a thread with everything you need

I was asking specifically for a way to do it without the use of software on a pc and manually making the changes... including qpst... or anything software on occasion related... if possible

I'm new to android, I was curious if there is an app that would allow me to share my atrix's wifi connection to a pc without a wifi card? I'm not wanting to tether, but share my home internet with a pc. Thanks.

Answered my own question, can be done through pdanet

If I have a dodgy wifi signal it will connect with 'limited connectivity' which seems to mean it dosent connect at all.
I then need to go and fick about with the settings to get it connected properly.
Does anyone know if you can stop it doing this, I have tried various wifi management apps to no avail?

Click to collapse
Go to home > settings > wireless & networks > tethering & portable hotspot.
You have to flash gapps.zip to get the market and other Google goodies.

I'm using Barnacle WiFi Tether from the App Store. Works great once you get the settings correct. It bypasses the Carrier's HotSpot App by creating an Ad-hoc connection.
Where can i find gapps.zip?
