[Q] Problem changing baseband to .49 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, i have a question changing bb to 49, i downloaded the file 2.0.49 from baseband collection but if i unzip it, there are only the following files placed:
loader.sin
kernel.sin
amss_fs.sin
dsp1.sin
fota1.sin
fota0.sin
amss.sin
chache.sin
and a folder with a file named MANIFEST.MF
i bundled these files and now im unsure if i can flash it cause there is no check to wipe user data and a few files are missing compared to the ftf file for bb52..
isnt the file in the baseband collection supposed to be a ftf file to be only put in the firmware folder?
Couldnt find a soloution yet..
Thx for reply in advance

Go to the development thread and look for the n00bs guide to flashing. It has everything you need. It's stickied, so it'll be at the top ish
Edit:
Here I did the legwork for ya

Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI-IRIS using XDA Premium App

I already read this guide but there are only whole firmwares of the X10 to be flashed as i think or do they contain a seperate bb file?
I just want to flash the .49 bb and not the whole FW..
Evry bb file available in the collection contains a ftf file if i extract it but the .49 doesnt and thats my main problem, i bundled the .sin files but i wont expect the wished result if i flash it, cause as i said there are some .sin files missing like i think
thx

after bundle creation, the ftf should be in the 'firmware' folder already on desktop. flash, then turn on phone, into xrecovery, THEN flash desired ROM, reboot
Sent from my X10x using XDA Premium App

I'll give it a try but i think it wont work in the way it should because there are some files missing like userdata.sin and simlock.ta..
thx
Edit: alright big thx to denenatse
Worked! I bundled creation like 5 times but i never tryied to flash cause i thought there were some files missing xD

just click thanks, glad to be of assistants :-D

Basebands collection for X8

I've made bundles for FlashTool, for X8i and X8a, with basebands 006 and 015.
Kernel and baseband are related to each other, so if you have baseband 006, you'll have 2.0.2.A.0.24 kernel, and with baseband 015 you'll get 2.1.1.A.0.6 kernel.
If you try to flash latest kernel to phone with baseband 006, you'll get infinite boot loops. This can be fixed by simply flashing correct bundle (kernel/baseband).
This will NOT wipe userdata!
All basebands are in Xperia X8 folder on Mediafire.
Currently, these basebands are available:
X8i - E15i
Baseband 006 - kernel 2.0.2.A.0.24
Baseband 015 - kernel 2.1.1.A.0.6
X8a - E15a
Baseband 006 - kernel 2.0.2.A.0.24
Baseband 015 - kernel 2.1.1.A.0.6
Every baseband version is: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-534040xy where xy is either 06 or 15, depending on which baseband you flash.
Update: jerpelea's CM7, racht's ports, as-mario's MIUI and ponanovn's MiniCM port are all made for latest kernel and baseband 015. Nice to see that, thanks
Enjoy, and be careful, don't brick the phone, and if you do, don't blame me, you're doing this on your own risk!
Possibly a method for restoring signal issue when SEUS fails
Reserved for future use.

Baseband 015 - X8i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015.7z
Don't forget to update 7-Zip to latest version if you have problems with opening archive.

what is the advantage of this?? not meaning to be rude
The advantage is that you can change baseband as it please you. Why you'd want to I have no clue
Context: http://source.android.com/porting/telephony.html
All four basebands are now tested, packed and uploaded to Mediafire
good job !

He said "If you try to flash latest kernel to phone with baseband 006"
not to flash latest baseband to phone with old kernel. this is your status, you flash the latest baseband to old kernel.
what blagus said about infinite bootloops is when you flash the latest kernel (2.1.1) to phone with baseband 006, your case is the opposite. understand?
I try to flash the whenever i flash it says driver error to reinstall driver in flashtool folder, PC Companion run ok and install gordon gate also show i got latest driver,
but still got driver need to reinstall, what is the problem expert
Does PC Companion get your device into flash mode? If so, then redownload flashtool. If not - get your X8 connected and go into hardware manager of your computer, find your connected phone and erase all the drivers, then reinstall PC Companion for new drivers.
done that, uninstall everything and driver,
start all over again but result still the same,
keep asking to install and reinstall driver from driver folder

My X8 firmware is 2.1 update 1 with baseband 06 build version 2.0.2.a.0.24
I have an infinte loop when using this file "Baseband 006 - X8i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_006.7z"
EDITED:
when i use "Baseband 015 - X8i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015.7z", i have my baseband in 015, but the build number become 2.0.1.a.0.47.
if i want to upgrade to 2.1.1.a.0.6, what baseband should i use?
Hello guys, just one quick question, why is it that upgrading to baseband 15 from 06 the phone requests the sim network unlock code?
I am using the same SIM card, and the sim card belongs to the phone operator, so i don't understand why is it asking for network unlock code if it is the same sim.
I have found a couple of threads here on xda that recommend to click on the Dismiss button, but if i do that, i don't get any signal.
I have donwgraded again to 06, when i did the upgrade to 15 i also installed floyo 1.0 via xrecovery and everything loaded perfectly except that i have no signal, so it is useless.
I have tried going manually to the settings of mobile networks, but it says that it is not able to register on the network.
Thank you for any tips,
Regards

Did you tried flashing your phone by SEUS to upgrade this directly from SE???
Thanks for replying biscoitu, the phone came with 1.6, so i changed the SI because mine was not ready for 2.1. The new software that was updated via PC Companion is:
2.0.1.A.0.47 with baseband 06, 2.1-update1
And it is working fine, but now the pc companion says that its up to date, and it is not updating to the latest baseband, so i downloaded the ones included in this thread and flashed with flashtool, when i reboot i get asked for the network unlock code, if i dismiss it does not work.
I don't understand why it asks for it, if it is the same sim card. I have visited a couple of websites that sell codes for the x8 but when i confirm with my IMEI they say that they don't have available.

Hi Blagus,
I am unsure what you are trying to say.
My research indicates that hardware for U20i and U20a are the same but something in the software controls 2 different frequency options.
This stands to reason as having all options turned on would reduce battery life.
Now you seem to be saying you know how to switch the baseband option on a U20i to include options for U20a and vice versa.
Am I right or have I miss read you.
I am currently running U20a software but the baseband is still using U20i frequeny options. It was originally a U20i phone.
This is a good idea.
Hi Blagus,
I have looked at your other posts and it seems you can edit something in the Kernel to turn on all or some baseband options.
Yes I want to be able to do that 2.
i am running U20a Software but as the U20a baseband options have been turned off I cant get the service provider i preffer.
Looking at your Media Files it seems you edit a file in the Kernael Folder.
I can send you a copy of said Kernel Folder but I would think you edit a specific file. Can you tell me which one please so I can send it too u.
Thankyou.
Hello,
I need to update the kernel to the latest one in my X10mini pro, how can I do it?
Tried allready with SEUS but does not update.

It could be done if someone gives me links to U20i and U20a 2.1.1.A.0.6 FW.
Alternatively, change build.prop to CDA number which received latest 2.1.1.A.0.6 update and try again.
is there a different baseband version for 2.1.1.A.0.6?? i have 015...for 2.1.1.A.0.6
I've uploaded U20i basebands. Thanks to pbezza!
No problem blagus. If you want u20i firmware 2.1 v2.0.A.0.504 with baseband 006, get the UK firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
I currently have this one installed to confirm it's version for you.
Blagus, once a full firmware flash has occurred, is it possible to simply flash between basebands and the phone will still boot correctly? I'm asking this because I wish to test CM7 but it requires baseband 006 and I currently have 015. It's easy enough to do a full flash I suppose but to hop between basebands could be handy.

Just a quick question, the kernel/baseband combo on a decripted firmware folder is the kernel.*** file?
Hello here!
This is a silly question(I know), but I managed to flash the 015 baseband to my Mimmi, but my kernel still being 2.0.2.A.0.24. Did it have to change as well with the new baseband to 2.1.1.A.0.6? I got some reboots but I let it pass. Not happening anymore. I think they'll happen later again won't they?
Long story short I'm planning to flash this rom to my phone and I'm wondering if it would be harmful? Or the problem with basebands/kernels is the loop issue?
Thanks.
hi blagus thanks for this awesome thread. just a quick Q my phhone is currently on 2.0.A.0.504 with baseband 54404006. can i use the following(U20i_2.1.1.A.0.6_baseband_015.7z) baseband link and i will end up with this 2.1.1.A.0.6 baseband 53404015
just asking because reendor2005 said to me i have to flas the firmware and not the baseband is this included in the file

LF clean Baseband 4.0.2.A.0.42

Anyone have this baseband but clean without sh1t?
mains comes with telcel's programs so its sucks. ty guys
sorry, i think is this one, meesing with my cel, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258723
And if messing with ftf files seems too complicated, you could try Wotanserver.
included in ftf FW, and i never seen a moded baseband untill now..

[Q] Using .Pit will reset my bootloader?

Hi,
I have a little, maybe silly question, i was reading a thread of Odia, and i just want to understand that if I use .Pit for flashing and tick Re-Partition, do I need to flash a Stock ROM (Im ony using stock roms) that comes with bootloader? or can I get the latest ICS Stock Rom from intratech or sammobile and flash it with the .Pit ?
Resuming;
Will my bootloader get erased in this process?
Will all the system files be erased because of the re-partition? (Like when we create a new partition in Windows and everything that was on HD gets lost forever lol) ??
Thank you in advance ! =D

Yeah.. i was talking about a thread started by Odia (Xda member) in developers area... I cant post there yet coz im new here in this forum, but i read it very often since i got my SGSII in 2011..
We can't play with .Pit but We should use when phone is bricked and u cant go on recovery mode (only in download mode), that happens when Nand-rw is broken, and thats can only be fixed re-partitioning your phone with .Pit.
Now my question is.. re-partitioning will reset my bootloader so I will have to flash a Rom with one or not..?
Thank you by ur concern anyway ! =D
Ps: Judging is not cool..
Hey, if u got here in this thread and has the same question as I did, i got the answer..
After reading this thread (Guide)
I found that the bootloader is NOT erased when using .Pit and re-partitioning, bootloader is only replaced if u flash a new one using Odin. So there is no need to use .Pit and re-partition with a bootloader at the same time.
If u are new and dont know what .Pit files are or how to use them, read carefully the thread i linked above.
Thank You to everybody who read this post and took a minute thinking about the answer !

[Q](Solved) Does flashing the stock rom restore the original kernel?

I am a noob using a sgs2(international version) running CM9 stable and for certain reasons I want to restore it to the state i got it, i already used the Triangle Away app and removed the triangle and reset the counter and i also understand that flashing the stock rom doesn't increase the count but I don't know about the matter related to restoring to stock I watched a couple of videos and I am confused in some cases they are using 3 or more files in the procedure, like in Odin they have a file for PDA, Kernel, Csc likewise and some are just talking about using only the PDA file, so could someone explain what is happening?
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me a link to a unbranded US or UK stock gingerbread 2.3.6 (i cant understand what to select from the other forums because I can't understand files named KHJS_LHDG ..... Etc ) and a way to use that rom with Odin to go back to perfect out of the box situation.

there are 2 formats for the stock rom. 1 .rar archive with all CODE MODEM KERNEL CSC as tar.md5 files compressed in a .rar archive.. and the other is the single .tar.md5 file that inside have all in one (kernel, modem...).
if you flash the single tar.md5 it will replace your entire ROM including kernel & modem.
if you flash the multiple file inside the .rar you must put the files you unzipped in their respective slots. be careful with that. I think for this method is needed also a PIT file but I'm not sure.
I always flash the single .tar.md5 file because it's easier

Thanks a bunch that cleared up many of my doubts, so that's it people whoever is confused and reading this, I am perfectly satisfied.
Stock firmware flashing after reseting the counter does remove all traces of root and sammobile gives all the stock firmware needed for your phone. Just be careful enough to select the right version for your model and region and also if present your carrier brand.

Then you didn't wipe properly.
Be sure to wipe /data, /system & /cache from your custom recovery before flashing stock firmware to be sure. Just a factory reset after flasing probably is enough but why not take advantage of the custom recovery to wipe all and be sure

Thanks, but what I meant was whether the modem package is included within the tar.md5 file since the rest (CSC, Pit, ..) are apparently included.
Hmmm maybe if I try extraction of the tar file could I get my answer? Or will it be complicated jibberish or can I extract it at all?
I plan on Reaming tar.md5 to just tar for extraction.

For choosing your rom take a look for yourself here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
But i think that DXKL3 will fit your needs, it is a multi CSC so no need for a specific region (and it is the most recent
2.3.6 listed among the non region specific 2.3.6 roms):

Here is the stock kernel coming with it:

For the question about modem, if you open the archive you can see if there is a "modem.bin" inside or not.

I thank people who write helpful posts, so i expect the same.
You are welcome.
A note about the pit when you have it:
most of the time, you don't have (and should not) tick these boxes
in Odin.
I used a pit once because I though it would repair my filesystem,
and in someway it did, but most of the time in all flashing tutorial the advice
is not using it.
Hi,
