Reader app - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Does anyone know if it would be possible to rip the Reader app from the flyer for use on other devices?

Testing the .apk and the .odex on my evo...we'll see if it works haha
EDIT: It didn't install..maybe it could be that I am using CyanogenMod7...
Here are the apps if someone wants to play with them.

Hmm I'd imagine in would need to be modded to work with non sense roms =/

How did you try to install it? Did you just "run" the apk from the sdcard?
That won't work. Because of the odex file.
You could de-odex the app and try to install it again.
More infos about de-odexing here: http://code.google.com/p/smali/wiki/DeodexInstructions

It might be that the apk file is corrupted or it is not really an apk file. I have instances where android told me that content is not supported while downloading an apk file as it is in the .bin file format. All I did is just to download and change the fipe type to apk to make it work.

I've had nothing but trouble transferring apk's through any browser on android, bluetooth, or even link in a text message.
But rename the extension to '.jpg' or some other regularly sent extension and it works almost everytime.
Frustrating work around, but a work around none-the-less.

True... but one thing nobody told you, was...
Go to Astro (file Manager), and go to it's preferences (menu > More), there is an option to Enable Browser Downloads.
THIS is what most places recommend, including the latest SwiftKey Beta.
or google download crutch, it will let you download anything on your phone. least it used to on my g1. never had a problem d/l'ing anything on my vibrant.

Arc Software needs certain things that non-lg roms don't have. Therefore you can't install it.

The ArcSoft package contains the ArcSoft folder from /system/3rd_party and some libs in /system/lib (like libarc???.so). No luck for me too, maybe some more files missing. If anyone could do, I would be really thankful to him

I think there's something in the framework of stock roms it relies on, I can get it to install and load (after some nasty hacks), but it seems unable to actually function (Log just spits out "Application already in focus ignoring..." )
... But don't think I've given up, this is one of the few items on my "wish list" for SwiftDroid

Can you elaborate a bit further? -- It was easy enough to "hack" the apk to allow it to install, and it loads up... just kinda doesn't actually do it's thing. (log is no help here sadly)

It'll have stuff deeply encoded into random libs or something. You know what LG are like. It's like porting the FM radio

I think the .so files in the lib folder lets you install some apps and games depending on the Install Codes in the .so files, apps and the Games
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
The arc files are in random Locations and i think you need to get the LG GT540's Package Installer from /system/app/package installer.apk the permissions for the apk are
Owner R/W
Group R
Others R
I hope this helps ;D

Ok, found a way. Use Astro to browse the files in the "Litening Wallpaper" .apk file. You can than copy the wallpaper file you want onto your SD card. It should appear in your gallery, like every other picture.

The one in the market is version 2.x which is not designed for Honeycomb, unless I'm missing something here?
If its messed up on a fresh ROM install, you should let the dev know so he can work it out.
