Downloading a file from gmail app - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When you have an attached file in your gmail app and ONLY the PREVIEW button shows up how can you download the file to your SDcard?!

If you're veing astro file manager installed, jus go to preferences n check d "Enable browser download"
option...

That's freaking stupid, that it's not already an option as part of gmail. As in PREVIEW OR SAVE TO SDCARD

I use estrongs file manager, and it gives me the option to create a shortcut to home. You can try that.

+1 for that, definitely the best, also EStrong file explorer is the best file manager in my opinion.

I cannot see EStrong OR Better Cut on the Market. I want to be able to save files to the desktop of my Galaxy 10.1. Any ideas on the best way to do this?

I am not able to download gmail attachments. Is there an app or setting that will allow this to happen? Thanks in advance!

Or go to the market and search type Downloads and the first app should be download all files and enable it and you will be able to download everything with stock browser

Same issue, tried using the download all app and still end up with a tiny .htm file. I have been using opera to dl this kind of thing and it works ok, just prefer stock browser for everything else.

Thanks for the tip but even with this option enabled, no dice. It really isn't the end of the world, I did look into this before and couldn't find solution. It may be some obscure setting I have enabled somewhere or other, just can't find it.
Some times download procedure doesn't work. Opera never fail.

Sadly thats how it works. Look for download all at marketing.

Market problem

I'm using pp 2.3...when I try to purchase an item from play store it gives me an error..does anyone have an idea..also screenshot under power menu is saving screens as png but when I try to upload pics to xda it tells me its JPEG

Market is installed on sd-ext, open root explorer and find and move vending.apk it must be in /system/app

How can I download a zip file from email

I just noticed that I cant download a zip file from email or gmail I was able to do it on the evo 4g

still rocking my zues bolt
I noticed that in gmail (haven't tried yahoo yet) . It said no files support download of this file type. I've got root explorer, and sense has a built in archive viewer. Maybe it's a leftover side effect from the app association thing.

I just noticed that it did download from the email app but it doesn't tell you that its been downloaded just asked how would I want to complete this action, but gmail will not download it
