hey guys just wondering what your average battery life was on your X10 and what ROM you had.
I am on Trips MiUi 1.4.0 baseband .49 and I used 24% in about 3 and a half hours. On slightly heavy use. Seems like some people are getting WAY more. What is yours and any ideas to improve it? Thanks!

YMMV - On a regular day, I get from 07:00 to like 19:00 on a charge
On a heavy day, I'll have to recharge like at 15:00. Mind you, heavy to me means >120 minutes of talk time, checking/replying to emails like 20 times a day, SMS ditto and some app use.
I have installed Ultimate Juice/Juice Defender. Seems to help somewhat.
Among a number of other factors (some of which can be controlled), battery use depends fairly heavily on how good a signal you are getting - GSM technology is not fixed power - the handset can boost and lower output power depending on signal strength.
Hope this helps!

Okay, that seems about right then. In my office I get between 2-4 bars depending on where my phone sits so I guess that might be part of it. Thanks for the help! =D
Forgot to mention - I'm on TripNMIuI 1.0.8/bb.52
Tried 1.3, but was getting signal issues (signal/no signal) like many others. Waiting for 1.5
If battery could magically be extended to like 2 days, the X10 would probably be a keeper for another year.....battery is to me the main drawback of modern Smartphones. Used to have a Blackberry 8820 - got stolen - 2G only. Battery lasted a week. Totally amazing.
On trip's froyo rom 1.30 i get about 32 hours on standby with moderate use.
I have a 2.1 Stock ROM with Multitouch and JIT enabled, mine lasts like 5-6 hours on continuous use like watching YouTube and browsing, with normal use like 3 hours of browsing, tweeting all day and one or two calls it lasts for 12-14 hours.
Well the best battery i experienced was on stock ROM rooted + JIT installed and this xda guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934486
for me battery lasted for about 2-2 1/2 days on normal use, but i used SPB shell instead of home launcher..
now im on Trips MIUI and battery lasts not even half of before..
Thats what i had just for that (;

What settings are you using for Juice Defender? I just flashed to froyo and juice defender worked miracles in 2.1 but now it does all kinds of weird stuff (like disabling my home network while i have wifi enabled ) and doesn't buy me any battery life and i'm kind of disappointed
Yah cheap asses, I got three batteries and a external charger off Ebay for 14$ shipped to me. The hell with battery life!

Honestly the battery life on this is not good for me, with no use but about one call I get 10-11 hours tops. With constant use(essentially not stopping for sleep mode)browsing and just going to apps like xda and the market I get about 4, back on stock 2.1 before the JI6 update I could go days on standby. I've wiped battery stats plenty of times now and seem to get no noticeable change. Also I've noticed that my battery will charge fully in 2 hours.

The best two firmwares for me so far have been Bionix Final (JI6 based w/JI2 modem) and Obsidian v2. Following my usual daily routine I'm getting about 14-16 hours from Obsidian v2, which includes a smattering of phone calls and texting, about a half hour of solid app usage (ye olde lunch break at work) and frequent checking of the display for time (I'm a manager with a fairly large staff so staying on top of what time it is, is a critical thing for me). At work I live in a very marginal data connection zone, with the phone frequently switching back and forth from 3G to Edge as well, and this hasn't had quite the negative impact on battery life that JI6's baseband usually implied.
I did get slightly better battery life with Bionix Final, but not enough better to justify going back. It seems my experience are quite the opposite of yours, or at least very different. With this being the case, I'd just suggest you use an app with more granular monitoring capabilities (like for instance Spare Parts) to try to find out why your battery life is so poor. I would wager it's probably app related and not OS related. Best of luck regardless.
If i used the phone like a computer i would get like 4-6 hours of usage (that's non stop usage) but if i used it lightly i can get like 15-17 hours. I guess it's not possible for me to use the phone with heavy usage for more than 6 or 7 hours.

This is the state of things. It's no different than your average laptop in that regard.
After I updated to Nordic 2.1 and used v002 optimizer, I noticed I was getting awesome battery life. For the past few days I've used my phone minimally with sim card in, GV on, etc, but with minimal use to see just how good the battery life is now. Before, with 1.6, I was getting 2 days absolute maximum, even with minimal usage. Now I've gotten this: http://imgur.com/xNjaz.jpg (with 10% battery remaining).
Anyone else gotten better or comparable results? Personally, I think this is excellent, especially compared to having to charge nightly with 1.6 when I actually put it to some use. I think I could do some browsing, texting, calling, and stuff and not have to worry that if I forget to charge one night, it would die early on the next day now.

Flashed the Nordic 2.1 rom and ran optimizer v002 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829660).
Ive noticed my battery is better too, I use mine quite heavily, take it off charge about 8am and would top up the charge about 2pm. This last week ive not needed to top up the charge, the other day I got home from work with 71% left, which for me was amazing!
It seems they changed the standby power consumption.

I'd like to know from the folks at XDA how much battery life (in hours) they get once they recharge the battery and turn on GPS (i.e. 100% active with a software--no screen off) until the phone shuts down from no energy.
I'd like to know what ROMS, kernels, etc you're using and how much battery life with 100% GPS with no down time.
For me, I'm getting about ~3 hours with TW 1.3.2 and Bali using Copilot GPS software. Screen at half bright. Battery is reconditioned.........Is this any good?.....

I've been having real bad battery problems. People claim 12-14 hours with heavy use and full charge. I get only about 8 hours with medium use ( few calls some texts and some web browsing and pandora) My battery's date is 08.02.2010 and its 1500 mAH . Would you recommend i get a new one and see if that works? I'm running cm7 latest nightly and glitch v11 since i thought glitch would help wit battery life but no dice. Even before i got any roms though my battery life was always about 8 hours with medium use. And thats with no gps no wifi or syncing. Thanks for ur help.

3 hours with GPS enabled constantly? And your screen on the entire time? Yes, that's very good.
I remember I used to have a Garmin that would last ~24minutes after I took it off of the charger.
Constant-running GPS is a massive battery drain. Having your screen running for 3 hours straight is an even bigger battery drain.
Get a car charger.

what worked really well for me is bali 1.1.1 here are my UV settings ive been running my phone all day at 6pm i had 50% and after a good amount of use i have 47% left im not overclocking at all
1000- -25
800- 50
400 -50
200 -50
100-75
when i try going around 100 and up it gets unstable so try these out and tweak em a bit im sure u will have better battery life
Do you use bali 1.1.1 with cm7 nightly too? just making sure it'll b compatible with my setup to . btw funny ur from newark. im from elizabeth =P

A new battery should be free and yes last time i got a new one mailed to me they let me keep the old one too.
OK so today this is what I've done with my phone:
2 hours of music playing via headset
half an hour of music playing via external speaker
half an hour of voice talking
like 100 messages sent/received
30 minutes of internet/facebook browsing
2 albums of 100 MB each sent via bluetooth.
10 minutes of office editing
It's on 35% now and that drained after 11 hours(with the above use). Is it normal? Is my battery faulty? Is it an overuse of the phone?
That sounds completely normal for your SGS2. That's a lot of usage right there you know.
A custom rom based on android 2.3.4 (and up) and Juice Defender will certainly give you double the juice. It does for me!
That was good enough. 4-5 hours screen on time us the most I get..wifi and 3g on, push naik, stock room on speed mod kernel.

Sounds about right for that amount of usage, 100 texts in 11 hours day though crikey
BTW Juice Defender Ultimate will use as much battery as it saves so it is not recommended, this is coming from someone who used to be a huge fan but i was advised to uninstall it and ive saved loads more battery without it.

i guarantee you if you compare battery life with Juice Defender Ultimate and then freeze it and test, you'll save considerably more battery without,7 hours extra i got
was using JD. It crippled the phone..missed calls, late emails and so on. I stay stock, freeze Bloatware and use speedmod kernel, takes me thru the day with 4 hours screen on time, wifi 3g normal use.

I usually get over 16-18 hours of being unplugged about 3 - 3.5 hours of screen on time before I charge it (and go to bed) hehe.
I use JD free ver., balanced profile, right now and i have to say that at the moment works really good. It impressed me!I'm on stock. i surfed the net for 30 min(stream video and sites) my battery is still full. Usually it would be 1/4 less. Anyway, i don't know about you guys, but for me it seems to work ok. (i'm using it for a week now)

I am tired of my Amaze, the battery barely lasts me more than 5-6 hours and these drops are unbearable.
I started my day 9am today and the battery was down to 20% at precisely 1:04pm.
Just look at these drops.....
Rooted? Rom?
Chuck Norris can but Walker Texas Ranger can't.
On stock rom and stock battery the battery life on the amaze is terrible.
I have my girls amaze rooted running a custom rom, kernel with setcpu, juice defender and anker extended battery. Now it lasts her all day with out charge in between.

I don't know what you people do, but I consider myself semi heavy user. Today I streamed BT music for an hour at the gym, streamed one movie off Netflix and watched a good few YouTube wrestling matches and had a few calls here and there and a good 50 texts....reading some off the Kindle app and I got 11 hours before a charge.
I get 12-18 on normal usage. Was a light day at work, lol!
Want amazing battery life, then go back to an old school BB phone.....
I am still stock, lol!

This does not look good at all especially the last drop. You might have a rogue app. I would factory reset and start over only few apps at a time so I can identify the app. You may also wanna try other battery like anker.

This behaviour is definitely irregular... Those sharp drops and sudden spikes could be from the battery not being calibrated properly. On average, my Amaze with stock battery lasts me about 14-16 hours with 2.5-3 hours of screen time (lowest brightness most of the time).

Most android phones really need to be rooted so you can fully tweak the battery life. My amaze got roughly 16 hours with normal to heavy use with bullet proof 4.0. My phone I'm using now, the mytouch 4g gets around 24 hours with the same use. Before I would be lucky to get 8 hours with either phone. IV learned that you can either complain about things, do something about it, or just get an iPhone and go away . The beauty of android is the ability to go in and tweak.

averaging ~ 15-19 hrs of heavy usage a day on sense 3.5 rc1.7, sometimes Ill use juice defender to help with the longer work shifts but honestly its a huge difference from when I was stock.
its no different from when I was stock on my g2 to when I was rooted, sometimes you just have to tweak a few things to see a vast improvement.
Morning all,
I just woke up and unplugged my phone from the charger after leaving it to charge all night, right. As soon as I unplugged it, THE BATTERY DROPS 96% IN A MATTER OF SECONDS and I get the less than 5% of battery remain. I was like WTF?!?
I believe I found my problem....
Btw, I am on a rooted stock rom and I would consider myself a normal user. Calls, sms, and emails are the primary uses of my phone.
I am completely stock and get about 16hrs to a charge... I run miui music or stock music app for roughly 4 to 6 hrs a day and surf here and market and a bit of gaming.
I set screen brightness to 20% and keep my internet and blue tooth etc off most of the day....
I desperately want to debloat but I'm holding stock till ICS.
Rogue app sounds right along with the bloat like Google maps and Facebook eating up our batteries..
I also use a task manager to kill on command......
We have a hodgepodge setup of bloatware and settings in stock format... But I'm waiting and earning an ulcer till ICS as I know the upgrade will open the door to real development of truly good stuff

I'm very happy with my battery life, if I leave the screen off I barely lose any battery not even 1% an hour.
