Hi,
I tried bb 67 on Trips MIUI 1.0.5 and it felt quite good, good signal strength pretty fast and very stable..
Tried bb 61 too just to test and speedtest results for wifi and radio were better: wifi + 1mbps ( for me)
radio 2g ( couldnt test on 3g because of my location xD): 1 1/2 faster
but it is as i think not that stable as bb 67
flash both and try for you, taskes only about 3mins for one flash and doesnt wipe anything..
Hope it helped (;

I have a pw10b off of ebay the other day and it has rom 4.01.16 rs 6.25.02 and the signal never get more than two bars Well ... not never if i reset it in a place with known perfect tmobile signal than i get the perfect signail for about 4-8 sec than boom two bars AGHHH... This phone is too cool to give up so I've come here first please help
the oqo is cool http://news.com.com/1606-2-5222650.html
I wouldnt take too much notice of the signal indicator, in my experience it is inaccurate, if you can make and receive calls ok then leave it alone because messing with radio stacks is not a good idea.
do you think i should try the Special Edition ROM v1.2
well see the internet is verry verry slow like about 5 min to start to load yahoo... is this the speed of the xda at all signal levels?
I just droped my sidekick for this phone and it would load yahoo in about 1 min or less?
do you think i should try the Special Edition ROM v1.2
I access the internet over gsm and it is very slow, I did see an improvement when using the program on the special edition rom called "ftxPBrowser". I dont have any experience with internet over gprs but i assume that too is going to be pretty slow too.
try this link on your xda from different locations and using CSD and GPRS to see where is the problem

I confuse, which the best radio rom in Indonesia ???
i dont know which the best, but right now i use 1.54.00.10 for my telkomsel.
maybe we should ask abusalza.......in his PDAcorner ROM screenshots. he is using 1.47.30.10..... idon't know which one is the Best...i'm nubie
i'm a noob 2
how 2 figure out d ver of radio rom?
thx
I am at Jakarta and using T-Sel as well. My Radio ROM is 1.47.30.10 and it works well. The last time I used 1.56.70.11 and it consumed my battery badly.
@stefanhou, I Agree with u, until now 1.47.30.10 is my best radio (power&performance).
Never try another radio. Still 1.47.00.10 and never had a problem.
Maybe I'll try 1.47.30.10.
as shown on my signature, that's the best radio for indonesian consumer, i always got full signal strength wherever i go (i'm using IM3), and if i'm not using gprs, the battery can stays for 2 days
me too, I am using 1.47.30.10, it is not a problem for GPRS, I am In Depok and using 3.5G Indosat, but when I use 3G or HSDPA my battery is drain fastly. I only can browse for internet and downloading email for only 20 minutes, but for chat using GPRS, it is about 5-6 hours.... what do you think? please share your experience using HSDPA, how long yao can survive?
thanks
I think the better way is, you try those radio versions that mention above post by your self and you can decided wich radio is best for you.
you have a answer
but...only way to find out whats best for you is to get flashing and try them.
good luck

Ok, necessarily subjective since we all have different usage patterns, network signal strengths and the like.
In any case, I think this could be useful - In your opinion/from your experience which Baseband gives the best battery life?
Maybe this can help some users in decisions regarding upgrading/not upgrading basebands and in selecting roms based on bb compatibility and battery life.
If you are gonna stick with stock kernel, use .67 or .58, those are the best for me in my constant change of ROM
67 and then 58 for me, in that order.

It would be helpful to also know what region and carrier, as different basebands work differently depending upon your network.
For me.... Baseband 54, AT&T/USA.
For me (Greece) baseband 58 gives me the best combination of network speed, signal strength and battery life. Don't know why, but 67 and 61 gave me noticeable drain, but better signal.

I haven't tried many bb, but I did upgrade to .55 and it's going just fine for me. Carrier Claro/Brasil.
.67 for me, but I think, it need more time for the best result, its just a week passed that i upgraded it to .67
2.1.67 has the best battery life by far for me, after five hours thirty minutes its still on 92%. Signal not quite as good as 2.1.58 to start of with but has been getting better?
On Crazy Johns (Vodafone Au) In a low signal area
.67 surely........
I haven't tried flashing basebands individually but for me .54 works quite good for me, both in Coventry, UK(Vodafone) and Hong Kong (3HK).
till now the bb that gave me the longest battery life is the 67, with all the others I had nearby every day plug the phone on charge, now with a normal use it's the third day since last charge and battery is still 47%. Very very good ^^

UPDATE: Turns out, it was not the baseband after all. I had a dialer settings issue.
I am on baseband .67 and all good now, including standby time!
USA AT&T just got the official 2.1 update from SE. New baseband is 2.1.65.

Ah, a new baseband!!
I think that BB .52/.54/.58 gave me the best battery life.
.58 for me on Rogers in Toronto, Canada for battery life. However I just flashed back to my branded stock and it put me on .55. Signal strength is far better.. hasn't been long enough to get a battery reading though.
Great subject, I havent had many problems with basebands. I use the ones required for roms and they work. I have noticed that when using 67 my battery gets hotter than with 55. I go to a place to watch plays that I cant get signal with other basebands but 55 works. Can basebands change battery temp significantly? or is that my imagination? Not trying to get off topic, Im just seeing some higher temps with 67. I vote for 55.
Hi guys,
Just wanna ask any Malaysians here experiencing intermittent switching between HSDPA and 3G, with connections dropping as you please in 3G?
I've been trying to deal with this problem, but it doesn't seem to go away, so I thought it could be my Modem and/or Kernel problem.
Any ideas?
Yeah, it sounds like a modem problem. I've had the same issue. Just try a few modems and see what suits best.

Thanks! I was beginning to get paranoid and wonder if I should have stuck with the HTC Desire.
I was on KF1, now switching to KF2. Will continue to post more as the situation develops.
On a side note, we almost have the same device history

There seems to be data freezing issues when on Maxis, Celcom or Digi with default KF1 modem. This problem seems to be there on all modems so far. Disabling Fast Dormancy helps a bit, but not too much.
Usually, data freeze shows an upload. You have to disable data, then re-enable data for the problem to go away. There doesn't seem to be a way to fix it.
After 1month+, I found out it's a kernel + modem thing. 3g will be preferred unless you're actively connected (saves bat), and will switch over to HSDPA if and when you're actively seeking connection (running apps/games with screen on).
I'm currently on TWD 2.5 kernel, and KF2 modem.
i tried xxki1,xxki3,xxki4,nekf1 and nekf2....Nekf2 is most stable than the others..

Yeah still wondering why the phone could never connect to internet via 3G, whenever it tried to connect using 3G, there was always no downstream, and then it switched to H/H+.
This thread has become extremely quiet i see
hi,
i am facing quite an irritating problem which is of signal strength ... i was on stock 4.0.4 before then switched to Darky's v.3.0 then v3.1 finally im now on v7.0 which is JB - 4.1.2 .. have tried lots of modems ... but the problem is still there ... i always have very poor signal strength reception as well wifi signals as well ...
on my phone i DO NOT get lower then -85 dbm .. which is quite disturbing .. most of the time the caller or me even HANG up .. because we both end up shouting ..
YOU'RE BREAKING UP MAN .... HELLLOOOOOOOOO ... ughhhhhhh

Did you try your sim card in any other phone?
Sometimes, if the sim card is damaged it gives you bad signal.
I suggest you to try your phone with different sim card as well.
If it still gives you poor reception then I think you should visit the service centre...
