I have a dock for my Evo 3D and Sense 3.0 doesn't rotate the sense UI to landscape. I have orientation switch installed and it can rotate the sense UI to landscape; however, sense will get stuck in a crash loop. Other than using another launcher, has anyone found a way to get sense 3.0 to work normally in landscape?
Same here, would really like sense in landscape. + 1

Correct. Sense 3.5 does support landscape homescreen, so hopefully we'll see a port of that soon.

That's good news about 3.5 then. Honestly no landscape sense is one of my biggest grips with the phone.
If we were running the version of Sense from the Flyer Tab, $#!+ would be money!
Yeah, not having landscape sense is what made me jealous of my GFs Evo Shift. I've was really hoping the 3D would have had it.
You all can sign me in about the liking of sense in landscape.
I really do not understand that HTC did not make sense work in landscape from the start.
When using navigation and you quick want to check some things on your home screen your always have to bend your head or chance the position from your phone.
I hope the have the sense 3.5 ported to our 3D in a reasonable time
But I am still really waiting for the CM for the 3D.
I just personally think that is the best there is.

Sent from my double barrel Shooter. BANG!
But that not necessary for me to put it in 3D it will hunt your battery down but it would be cool like an option.
I have seen previous sense builds that worked in landscape, why would it not be possible for sense 3.0??

If you decompile Rosie.apk you will see the files for landscape is there. I have been on and off trying to port over Rosie to support landscape. Time and knowledge currently are my enemies. Lack of knowledge in Rosie and time to work on it. It can be done and I believe it will be harder for sense 3.0 I. Most of the work I think will be XML controlled.I have a semi version version working, but cannot get Sense widgets to load! And screen navigation is non existent. If somebody with more knowledge could port mikG rom from the shift to evo 4g, synergy kingdom 4g for evo 4g or the rcmix kingdom leaked version, those are the only ones I found with Rosie landscape. The rcmix kingdom is the only sense 3 that I found without the 2.1 / 3.0 combo mix of sense.
Can anyone port this ROM or if it's simple help me do it?

Unfortunately porting a ROM is not as easy as swapping a few files.

1) wrong resolution....inspire/dhd are wvga screens (if it was bigger you could typically resize down with m10 tools...not gonna really work the other way)
2) lte...as witnessed by the thunderbolt porting is significantly more difficult to an lte device from a non lte rom...data is often a no-go (especially for sense 3.5 +)...really erishasnobattery was about the only person capable of it and he no longer has a rezound....as more lte phones on other carriers with similar resolutions come out, porting may become easier/more prevalent
3) its never "simple" unless porting from a nearly identical device ie: inspire - dhd - desire s or og inc - evo 4g (or inc2 to inc s to an extent by gsm to cdma involves a few more files than gsm to gsm)
4) since thats an aosp rom, it could be built on a stable base for this phone...but afaik that doesnt exist atm...

I've taken the plunge for the Asda deal and it arrives on Monday with any luck
I'm no stranger to flashing roms (as you can see I've been here on and off since 2006 and the XDA Mini S/Wizard) and the first thing I plan to do is root/s-off - just wanted to ask everyone which is the best rom for a GSM Evo 3D that fulfills the following criteria?:
1) Highest res smooth 3d recording
2) Speed/smoothness
3) Flexibility
I like experimenting with different kernels but as I'm upgrading from the good ol' HD2 which runs pretty much anything you throw at it and has some heavy dev behind it, I'm trying to get a feel for which roms will give me epic performance BUT also allow me tot ake full advantage of the 3d cameras.
Any pointers or recommendations heartily appreciated.
Monx's ROMeOS3D iceslated is pretty good very stable I've not had a problem with it also regular updates

Sense 3.0 roms are fully feature complete, sense 3.5 roms are 99% feature complete and 3D games won't work.
I would say the best rom for a daily is LeeDroid
Leedroid is your best bet for all the features. If you want a _much_ smoother Rom with the only problem being no 3d games, then I would thoroughly recommend mik runny.

just a clarification - for 3d games you mean games which uses the custom 3d screen api from htc or 3d graphics in general?
Not at all bothered with 3d games but want the highest resolution possible for my video recording and photos. I heard leedroid had lag on 3d video recording. Am thinking Mikrunny might be best atm.

I will warn you mikrunny has what appears to be on screen lag when snapping 3d images, but the final picture looks fine.
EDIT: This is only because of the "Amaze" camera .apk it uses, if you delete the current .apk and .odex file from /system/app then replace it with the standard HTCCamera.apk, it removes the lag and you're good to go! You can also if you wish use Titanium Backup to re-odex the HTCCamera.apk after.

3D video recording is fine I never said it wasn't, so is 3D picture taking. However with the Amaze camera on Mikrunny it does have a screen view lag before snapping photos.
It has arrived and I went with Mikrunny 1.13 Can only ge the amaze camera to do 720p but never mind.
Loving this phone, don't see why it isn't more popular.
Hi, are there some solutions for laggy Amaze camera when using 3D photo mode? (no video) ... Pictures are fine but before taking picture its slowed when moving to sides... I know about possibility of replacing it by original Evo 3D camera, but I don't want do it this way, becouse I hadn't this bug before, after ROM and Kernel installation and returning apps from Titanium backup everything was OK, I didn't installed any other apps but bug appeared few days after, like from nothing... I had amaze camera also on previous LeeDroid version and everything was OK all time, I also didn't change anything about CPU frequency before bug appeared.... Is there anything what can fix it without replacing camera apk?
Sorry for my bad english, thx for reply

There is no other way to fix amaze camera lag without replacing it by original camera? (set cpu to max frequency and performance mode help little bit but its still not ok). Or any idea why its laggy now? amaze in previous Leedroid version was without lags at all for me... And if only possible fix is flashing original camera or older rom(I would like to avoid this becouse I like amaze features in 2D mode), where I can find original Evo 3D camera zip file? I am trying to find it now but without succes...
Hello all,
I'm looking for a new rom, that have 3D working fine...
Can someone point me some link? I've seen so many but all of them look great but no 3D working - if i have a 3D phone i want it to work
Thanks.
Any rom based off of stock has 3d working. Which roms have you flashed that don't have 3d?
"We're coming from a pure power source."
More info is needed also. Are you CDMA or GSM?

Leedroid is good but I found it to have battery issues. If you don't mind dropping sense and It's accompanying widgets try romeos (preferably with anryl 10.07 kernel), it has a very nice ICS theme and fantastic battery life, as well as more free ram at any given time, not to mention it fully supports 3D.

is 3d camera working
is the 3d camera function in the latest version of LEEDROID custom rom for evo 3d working? what are the feature which is not working with this version thanks.
All sense 3 roms based upon stock will support 3D pics, videos and cam and gaming, sense 3.5 supports pics, videos and cam but not gaming.
The reason for this is HTC have only released the one version of android for EVO 3D, some dev's made the newer version of android work, version 2.3.5 (sense 3.5), based upon the Sensation XL.
Sense 3.6 and Sense 4.0 roms, both android 4, currently have no 3D support and only partially working cameras, depending on your hardware.
2 x 5mp cameras on the back, will not work with any of them.
Only 5mp and 2mp will work.
The only way this will ever change is when HTC release ICS for the EVO 3D.
Probably around June (or so i'm told)
I'd stick with leedroid
I have no battery issues, i get a full day out of my phone.
All 3D functions work

Same here lad, just re flashed it again, been using warm, but got fcs all the time.
So leedroid was a good choice i think
When you talk about battery, what's the average time you can get? I have to charge my phone 2 to 3 times each day depending if i use wifi, if i use games,...
Other thing that i notice is that the battery only goes up to 99%. Never to 100% of charge.
Concerning the games, as i don't have 3d games anymore (after the flash) i can't tell if they work or not Probably i'll have to buy them but as i haven't decided 100% the rom to use, i'll wait some more time.

Sorry but i can't understand what you're telling not because you don't tell it right, but because i just can't get to the same level of knowledge that you have (i'm noob ).
I'm just a simple user that is looking for a good rom, reliable, with all or most of the functions working - if i buy a 3D phone i think should work 3D. The same with wifi, bluetooth, ...
Other thing that made me look for something else than stock rom was the fact that the phone that i've bought don't come with my language (Portuguese PT-PT). Yes, I know now that if this was the only problem with stock rom i could just changed the firmware with stock... but i only realized that after i have the phone ready to take custom roms so i thought: if I've void my phone warranty i might just try some improved roms
If you can give your contribution I'll be much appreciated, even more because i've seen very good threads from you and i know that you know tons in this issues

Ville is the codename (like "shooter" for the CDMA Evo 3D) for an HTC One S model which has the same screen resolution as the Evo 3D and its 1.11.401.110 build is based on Sense 4. That may be the primary reason why the ROM from that device was used to port the 4.x Sense versions over to the Evo 3D. The Evo 4G LTE has a larger and higher resolution display, making a Sense port from that device more difficult.
Unfortunately, the ville doesn't have a 3D camera or WiMax 4G, which is why those features are missing from the Sense 4 ports for the Evo 3D. There also seems to be a change in Wi-Fi that has so far prevented the Wi-Fi Tether app from working consistently, although it's been reported that the SVTP version does work with those ROM's.
