[Q] Flyer lacks a Dialer - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

The flyer ain't got a dialer on board. Even though there's a sim module built-in in the device I thought it would be possible to make phone calls with it. Unfortunately it lacks a dialer. Anyone of you got an alternative dialer? Dialer one is not available in the Flyer's market (maybe incompatible).
In my opinions this is pretty much a shame, cause Samsungs Galaxy Tab does have one. What's your opinion?

Unfortunately multitouch is not good on htc devices! Why?

Hi guys, watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVlsRCMltDg&feature=player_embedded#!
Our hero is like Desire;
Is it possible to make some hack to improve multitouch? (to make it work like on Galaxy S)
Or it's a hardware problem?
If you want to test your device this is the apk:
"Is it possible to make some hack to improve multitouch?"
No
"Or it's a hardware problem?"
Yes... or... maybe Screen/Touch-Device-Firmware issue (which probably can't be upgraded if such thing exists at all)
I know it's an issue... it's been known for a long time. However, I haven't seen a single application whose usage suffers from this, and I know I'll get into trouble for this but I think multitouch is overrated... nice gimmick but I hardly ever use it (unless the app forces me to e.g. album)
Personally I wouldn't buy the Samsung Galaxy S... it looks like a really cheap iPhone 1G rip-off and their UI layer sucks balls.... hell even that looks like a cheap rip-off of the iPhone UI.

[Q] Flip for speakerphone? (during a call)

Hey guys,
I've got my galaxy s2 for two weeks now, coming form a HTC Desire, despite the many negative words about TouchWiz4.0 in comparison to HTC Sense, I must say I don't miss Sense at all and I actually like Touchwiz.
There are however some features in Sense, that came in quite handy and I was wondering if these are sort of available on the Galaxy S2.
One of these features is the "flip phone for speakermode". This means that when you're in a call and you flip the phone so the screen faces downwards, the speaker turns on. Is this possible on the galaxy s2, or is there an app that makes this possible?
Thanks in advance,
Richard
thats a Sense feature... but on our SGS2 if you flip the phone when you receive a call it will automatically place it on silent mode. (which is also a feature found in Sense 3.0)

[Q] HTC Keyboard on Galaxy S3?

Hey a quick question, has anyone been able to get the HTC keyboard mod to work on their S3 properly? On mine it's really small, pushed up against the left of the keyboard area rather than filling the whole keyboard area which is quite annoying >_> lol
Been so used to that keyboard now it's pretty much perfect, hate the ICS keyboard that doesn't even have the punctuation on the letters section of the keyboard...
Thanks for your time.
+1 I'm using the HTC keyboard on the SG2 .it's just superior. A port would be brilliant!
I know it isn't what you want to do, but there is a version somewhere in the Galaxy Nexus themes and apps section that works, you might want to try looking in there.

What if?

What if we had ICS? What would you appreciate most?
I would love to see sense 4.x on this thing. Resizable sense widgets, updated smooth sense UI, google play apps able to be installed (chrome and other ics apps currently arent)
What would you enjoy most?
*sigh*
where to start..
- proper dual core support
- more apps (chrome, for instants)
- better UI
May not be in ICS, but with 4.2 comes multi-user support!
I'd love to see it get a stock android holo theme. The sense widgets that I needed because they weren't in stock are now included in basic JB anyway, and I prefer the aesthetics. The sense apps look clunky now when compared to stock apps liker contracts and calendar on my nexus 4 & 7. I used top use the notes app, but it became far too buggy.
It would be excellent if the pen was still supported. That's the reason I got the jetstream in the first place!
The one alteration if like to see would be to move the software buttons to the left of the bar, as they currently are on sense.

Lets see
1. Vanilla Android
2. Host of multiple apps that work on only ICS+ like Chrome, Chameleon, Google Calender
3. Pen support would be a must for me to shift base
4. Voice calls if possible but not a priority
5. Sense UI would be a welcome addition if possible but nor a priority - and would love to see Sense/Sense-less tastes of ICS/JB out there.
Have used 4.2.1 on Xoom and honestly, the Tablet Vanilla Android 4.2.1 and CM 10.1/AOPK is shockingly amazing. Hoping that we get a taste of that on our device as well.
I've been an avid lover of HTC Sense since my original HTC Evo 4G. I even went on to buy the HTC Jetstream and the HTC Evo 4G LTE because they all ran sense, but I can honestly say that I cannot wait for sense to be stripped from this tablet. I've used many other tablets, like the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Motorola Xoom, and the Nexus 10 which are so much smoother and the lag on this tablet is just downright annoying now. This is actually very sad since the hardware for this tablet is amazing, and I have to attribute this lag to HTC's very poor implementation of sense over another very poor OS, Honeycomb 3.1. I can't wait for our talented devs to get CM10/10.1 up and running on this, because then this tablet will be simply amazing
pen support is critical for me, and as kailash i won't change bases as long as its not around. i know showp1984 already got a pen, and i specifically told him the pen support is something the community here needs.
this tablet is probably the most wasted pile of hardware around..honeycomb is a very poor android version. hopefully the combined forces of the developers suddenly around will get them to help us.
+1 for pen support
I bought this tablet specifically for the pen as I use it a lot connected to HDTV as a whiteboard to help with my kids education and I can't shift without pen support. Before throwing $150 at dev on this tablet I had seriously contemplated giving it up for a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 but am now hopeful we can get the pure Android experience (without Sense bloat) that this hardware deserves.
Go devs, we're rooting for ya!

In regard to the pen, while browsing on the HTC Flyer Section, found that Dexter_nlb has got the pen to work pretty decently for the Flyer at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795342. Assuming that the same/similar hardware has gone into building the Jetstream, I am guessing that the similar process/code would be able to get us working pen on Jetstream JB (once and when we do get it). However, not knowing much about coding, I assume that it would be a dev-to dev decision about using the work done by Dexter_nlb. In any case, here is to hoping on getting a fully working JB on our Jetstream real soon.
Pen support is a deal breaker for me as well, it was the main reason I purchased the Jetstream after all.
Project butter would be fantastic, but I don't see pen support in JB ever happening. Are there any more optimizations and improvements that could be made to the honeycomb roms we have?
both the flyer and the lenovo tablet got their pen running on ICS..can't imagine it'll be too hard getting it to run with JB. and honestly, even "just" ics would be so much better.
we've gone so far..i won't lose hope now.

Software (ease of use, features, etc)

When you hand your phone to granny to take a photo of you, can she get the job done? Rate this thread to express how you deem the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's camera software. A higher rating indicates that the software is easy to use, fast, uncluttered, and inclusive of advanced features for when you need them.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
This and the lack of foreseeable root are really the only two negatives regarding this device. Google's apps are just superior at every corner.
Messenger is more sleek than Messages
Chrome is now as smooth as Internet, but scrolls faster, accesses all my stored passwords, can share history with my computer.
Google's keyboard doesn't shove my friends emails into regular typing like Samsung's.
Gmail is much more appealing than Email.
Contacts and Phone - does anyone know how to get Google's variants working on a Verizon S7e?
Love the phone, but am loving it so much more with each Google app I add to replace one from Samsung.
Software features of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge are very neat. TouchWiz is overall very much improved and device has a great build quality. Multi Tasking Features are amazing, pop-up view windows, and single hand usage tweak by Samsung itself is responsive.

Waiting for tasting AOSP but it will kill many features
I'm about to return the phone due to software. TouchWiz is hell. I come from a Motorola and a Sony phone, those phones offered experiences close to stock Android with some added features.
Using this phone is incredibly complicated. The settings section is a mess and it crashes when you try to change the do not disturb options. The soft keys are just wrong. I have half of my ram consumed by Samsung apps and duplicate apps for everything.
The phone is just sad, this is not an android phone. I'll give it a shot for the weekend, otherwise I'm going to swap this for the HTC 10.
Now that I expressed my rage, could someone advice me on making this phone bearable?

I too come from a Sony device, and I love the S7 Edge. Sony software is very stable, and "minimalistic" compared to Samsung, LG and Huawei's customization, but damn it, I'm not hating it. I owned the first Galaxy Note. Yeah, you want some buggy and laggy TouchWiz crap? Take a good look at how things used to be, and then come back to the S7 and tell what you think.
The problem isn't that today's TouchWiz is bad, because it's not even close to being bad. It's just you that can't adapt to TouchWiz, so you curse at it and make sure to tell us what you think. TouchWiz isn't close to being "stock Android", and it's your own fault if you even thought that to begin with, but it's smooth, quick and there aren't any huge bugs (that I'm aware of). The camera software is awesome, the battery is awesome, the display is awesome, the design is awesome, but I guess you don't like the looks of the "notification center" and the Settings-app? You can theme those, and I recommend you install the "Material Design" theme from the theme store. It's free. You can also remove the annoying "Quick connect" thingy in the notifications by tapping "edit" and then disable it there (at the bottom). Then install Nova Launcher or Google Now Launcher.
The real issue here though is that you think there are too many options. Think about it. I get it. I really do, but this is such a first world problem that I can't even...
But alright, I've already mentioned the themes and stuff, so give me/us some more details on exactly what's annoying you, and we'll see if it's easily changeable.
I luv it samsung s7 egde
Came from a HTC m8, and I do like the phone. As much as I use to rag on my girlfriend about her wanting samsung...they did right by me on it with waterproof alone. I did want the 10 though but this phone is keeping me content
