To begin... make a backup 1st.... not responsible for damages while left in the parking garage.. enjoy the game!
This theme was made with permission of "thebowers". It's his creation. I brought it into GB land for the X2. I don't know if I did everything he did but I can tell you that I have made image edits galore for resizing purposes and to get all the new GB images not yet themed. I have also edited the crap out of a lot of xml's so things should work 100% smoothly out of the box. I have also incorporated some inverted apps which, I had nothing to do with. Credit there goes to thebowers, ecsnead and B-Boy. I themed the Phone and I started on the other 2 but, then, I saw someone else already did pretty much the same thing. So, I just used that. No need to waste time. That would be bouchigo. You can find him on rootzwiki. I also made a few apps myself because once I got going on 0.2.2, I got carried away.
Also, I changed the boot animation. It matches the theme oh so well. Credit there goes to Versatile1 because he made it.
Before we begin, I will list all the apps I have included. For ease of use, I highly recommend getting rid of any app on the list from your phones data folder first. For example, if you downloaded Facebook from the market, remove it from your data folder. Not saying you HAVE TO, just putting it out there if you run into issues, you know how to fix them.
Also for the market... this one you do HAVE to do... First, verify that you DO NOT have a vending app in \data\app!!!!! If you do this will not install!!! You will need to uninstall updates before flashing... Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>"ALL" tab>Market>Uninstall Updates
Will it break your phone if you don't do that? No, it just won't install a market... at all!
Lastly, I have taken the time to guide every .9.png file in the framework and in every app I touched. What this means to you.... If you want to make other changes, everything will decompile and recompile without error. Of course you need to add the dependencies if your editing systemui or settings but thats a blur thing. Not something I did.
Now.. onto the part anyone actually cares about..
The theme is located here.... No.. over there ----> ok its actually back there <------
If you see any issues or think of anything else to add let me know.
Here's whats included
framework
SystemUI
Calculator
Camera
Contacts
Dialer
Phone
Facebook (Inverted)
Gallery3D
Gmail (Inverted)
Google Quick Search (Inverted)
Keyboard (updated from 2.2 to be darker)
Settings (Inverted)
GTalk (Inverted)
Market (Inverted)
Google Voice (Inverted)
Some of these apps will be called dark or black in the app drawer. Example: Facebook = Dark Facebook

haha.. posted this in 3 forums... glad someone finally got it!
Yeah its exactly the thing I did in math class...every year...
Anyways, what are the chances we could just install the apps individually? I'm really only interested in the blacked out gmail.

just open up the theme in 7zip and delete what you dont want.
No stone unturned... we had to do some smali edits on gmail to get it to work. looks good though. now i realize that is the screenshot that is missing.
I just extracted the apk and used root explorer to push it into system/app. Changed permissions, rebooted, and voila!

As long as it works and you like it, I dont care how you got it on your phone...lol
Good stuff man. I noticed a few small things that I thought I would share, nothing deal breaking or anything like that.
1.) I noticed when you're in the middle of unlocking the phone theres like a slight white bar in the unlock tab, this doesn't occur when you switch between silent and audible mode.
2.) When you're in a call and say if you're on speaker and drag down the notifications the call information is pretty hard to see maybe a lighter shade of black?
3.) Some of the press colors are still orange/blue.
4.) When downloading from a browser the status bar is blue opposed to red and you can't read what you're downloading (b on b issue).
Still one slick theme regardless! Thanks!
Very nice work xkape. Appreciate the quick turnaround for 0.4.
I noticed there is something unthemed in the blacked out gmail. When in your inbox an you check an email and click on the "labels" button that interface is not blacked out, it is black type on a white bg. When you scroll on this screen the entire screen blacks out and you cannot read your labels. Not a deal breaker by any means but I am just throwing it out there.
Sounds like the colorchachehint is ok (thats what makes it black when you scroll) but the bg and text need to be switched. I'll take a look at that.

1) Should be an easy fix
2) Just saw that. I tested to see if it was in frame or phone and im pretty sure I just missed it in the framework. I'll find it.
3) Theres just so many of the damn things. Hard to get em all.
4) Never used the stock browser before. I use Dolphin HD. So, this one probably won't get fixed.
I'm adding one... in the phone when you are looking at a specific number in recent. if you click on it for "call details" that screen needs fixed. I think Im also going to darken the text of the unselected tabs. I thought the grey I chose was darker than that.
And by the way.. thank you both for pointing those out to me. I can't fix the theme and make it better if I don't know it needs to be.
I use boat browser mini.
I did some investigationg into the ongoing black on black issue in the status bar. Each app sets that seperately. The only way to fix that would be to either a) make the whole things white again with black text or b) edit each app that points at a black color instead of a white one for text. I will edit it for phone app and for dolphin.
Nice theme, I haven't found anything I don't like. The boot animation is sweet too.
I've never been a fan of just black and white themes, but this looks very tasteful. I'll give this a shot after flashing Eclipse .4 later!
triton, I never was either. In fact, I had never even used BNB. But, I came to feel that colorized themes just didnt work for me anymore. So I decided Id use BNB and edit up to the X2.
Although, I must admit, I am a sucker for those neon themes in Blue or Red.

neon image i just made right quick.
I was thinking this could take the place of the buttons.. for example.
thanks triton!
I've got a list from peoples feedback of a few imperfections here and there. I'll be fixing those real soon as well.
I ran into an issue with the app shortcuts on my home screen not moving to delete. They were frozen. I could add them to the homepage but couldn't delete. I flashed eclipse.4 and everything is working correctly now. I did install that speedy zip yesterday. Not sure if that was the issue or not. Would that be launcher issue or something in the theme zip?
Could one of our lovely themers throw together a port of the "HTC Quietly Rooted" bootanimation with correct resolution for our reZound?

I had the same problem as you and then I looked around for a while and found this keyboard:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pocketworkstation.pckeyboard&hl=en
I type much faster on it than on any other keyboard, only problem is that the space bar is a little close to the period key so while I was getting used to the keyboard I kept typing "." instead of " " but that might be a problem only I was having.
Another nice thing about the keyboard is that if you go into landscape mode you have a full 5 row keyboard with a number row, which once you get used to is extremely nice although the 5 rows are a little bit squeezed.
Anyways, try it out and tell me what you think.

Uhhh, wrong thread? Lol
Fellow modders, could you please suggest some good Keyboards?
The problem is that there probably won't be a good swype-like keyboard available for Serbian language for a long time (there are simply too many word-forms and irregular forms per word). I've been trying to get used to Swype (the latest version) for 2 weeks now, but it's simply not possible, their Serbian dictionary is not really big and I have to type in manually at least one new word per a message which then completely destroys any speed effect that swyping has I've added ~150 my words so far, but I still have to write in new ones all the time... And wnex ord prediction is non existent, Swype sucks at predicting words. The good thing about Swype is that it keeps the standard 26 letter keyboard (all Ć, Č and C are under C; Š and S are under S etc).
I've also tried the latest SwiftKey X. The problem with it is that it shows all 30 letters of Serbian Latin script and that makes the key too small... The dictionary and word prediction seems a lot better than it is on Swype, but the keys are just so small I couldn't find an option to switch to a 26 letter keyboard while using the Serbian dictionary
So, after weeks of experimenting, I would like to return to the usual way of typing - letter by letter. What keyboard would you recommend for this?
The best keyboard for letter by letter typing on Gingerbread was that HTC one, it was A LOT better than the 2.3 AOSP keyboard! But it doesn't work on anything higher than Android 2.3
Coming to ICS and JellyBean, the AOSP keyboard has been greatly improved, but I find the keys a bit too small for our screens and when I type fast, mistakes happen all the time
I will try to use SwiftKeyX as a regular keyboard, without Serbian and "Flow" enabled, but would you recommend any more? Are there any good brand-made keyboards for Android 4.x? Sony/Xperia, Samsung/TouchWiz, HTC/Sense?
*sorry for the terribly long post*
I remember seeing a HTC Sense keyboard somewhere for ICS+. I'll post the link if I find it.

I've switched from Swype to Swiftkey and have been using it for the past week or so and deleted it last night. The more I used it, the worse the predictions and the corrections became... The Xperia keyboard is nice, but the keys are utterly to small for me, I couldn't achieve any speed or precision
I will try TouchPal and Kii keyboards in the following days, maybe one of these two will work out for me
If not, I've also signed up for the Minuum keyboard beta and I'm waiting for them to contact me.... (you can sign up here - http://minuum.com/ )
I also was searching for good keyboard for our "small" screens.
Also i needed Serbian letters and Ћирилица. I tested a lot of them and last 1 year i am using Smart Keyboard Pro.
You can edit everything you want. There is also calibration so can be calibrated it to your usage.

Thanks, mate, will check it out for sure
I have tested Kii Keyboard and Touchpal since my last post. Kii Keyboard is not on par with the bigger names (like Swype, Touchpal and Swiftkey), it just doesn't feel that mature. I didn't find it enjoyable.
Touchpal was very good for my needs, but I couldn't turn off its "toolbar" (that's how they call its word suggestion line, because it has shortcuts to some tools) which was very irritating

There's a lot keyboards at marketplace for sure but i never found any keyboard that i can change everything i want, there is always that something need to stay or i am missing something from reall keyboard. When you are typing, some suffs are just anoying and that was:
- Turn off complitlly text predirection, only Auto-capitalizion to stay,
- add enter button,
- remove speaker button,
- remove smiley button,
- remove or change popup button (usually that can makes small deley when you type fast, so without it you can type how much fast you want)
- having " , " and " . " at same time
- control extra space
- having normal, not some colored styles
- support for needed language and when i use it, i don't need to use that layout. So when i am using Serbian language, i dont need to have changed letters Z ana Y. English layout can be used.
- Calibration is incredible, its impossible to wrote wrong word with it. I dont understand how perfect can be but it is. I just will never learn to use touch screen for type message
- after all after you restore backup from memory card, calibration and all settings are same as you saved them.
There is so much more stuffs that i didn't found on other keyboard but i just need them. That was the only reason why i hated this phone when i buyed it At first look i tought that its impossible to write normal messages without 30% of bad typed words but after this one, i found it possible. Maybe there is many peoples who will find that less important but when you wrote some important mail or something, i don't wanna spend 10 minutes more to find all strings or keys i always need.
Phone is just incredible and i want to make it most possible incredible that i can

I know, and Swiftkey and Touchpal have those features as well, but I don't want to use text prediction and auto-correction... I've tried living with those features for almost a month and it didn't work out, the Serbian dictionaries available for keyboards are not very good and the amount of word forms covered is very low...
Thanks for the suggestion, though

Which I did But then SwiftKey didn't make much noise, because the keys are more cramped up than they are on the AOSP keyboard and, furthermore, the symbols were strangely positioned and smileys weren't as accessible as on the AOSP one, so...
But it doesn't matter, because Smart Keyboard Pro is just what I needed A tad bigger keys than on the AOSP keyboard and that's it. Everything is in the same place, but I have a higher speed combined with a better accuracy
Thanks goes out to all of you who had any suggestions!

Hi guys,
Now that I've put the Imperium Operative installed, the fleksy keyboard is gone. I've thought about downloading it again, but wonder: are there better keyboards out there? In my ideal keyboard I could just draw each letter on the entire screen, like on old Palm devices.

There is a version of graffiti for android, but like the old palm it requires your strokes in the input area. Full screen writing may have been added much later in my Palm days
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.access_company.graffiti&hl=en
Time with the similar MotoACTV introduced me to the Flit keyboard. It has some neat transparency options and provides great accuracy on small screen devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.flitkeyboard&hl=en
Currently I use the paid version of swype with the xposed module that replaces dragon dictate with google voice. I find the touchscreen's sensitivity leads to a lot of false inputs when pecking, but great word swiping accuracy.

Flesky is not gone. "Backs up all changes into a "Removed" folder on internal storage"
I do agree with you about Graffiti though. Graffiti for Android is close but would be better if the input area was transparent as screen space is pretty critical with such a small screen.

I backed Minuum on Indiegogo and I use it as my main keyboard on the Truesmart.
It has a few issues with the settings (I can't figure out how to enable some of the new features...I think it may have a dpi issue that is keeping me from getting to the last step in their "enable minuum" screen, now that I think about it; I should try that xposed thing), but works very well in my opinion other than not having swiping input. The "precision entry" mode that it defaults to using for things like usernames, urls, and passwords takes up almost the entire screen; I find it better to switch back to the linear mode and use long presses to select the exact characters I want. But in that mode, it's the one thing I've seen that takes less space than Fleksy.
EDIT: Okay, I just checked out the Flit keyboard mentioned above. With its first keyboard set to the small qwerty and second set to small numbers (and no suggestion dictionary), it takes up less space than Minuum (by about the space Minuum uses for the suggestion area, shift, and backspace). That's enough to get me to try Flit for a while and see if I like it better. So for anyone looking for absolute least space consumed (ignoring the possibility of transparent keyboards that don't reserve screen space), Flit looks like a good option.
I actually have been using SwiftKey on mine, and it works reasonably well.
The predictions are a huge help.
JM2C
Great. Now it looks like I'm following you around.
I use swiftkey a well. I've been using swiftkey on my devices so long (Android BBQ 2012 I think) that prediction has gotten to the point were entire emails are written using only the first letter of every word.
About the only thing that might compete is Minimium but the smartwatch version has not been released yet.
I agree that minuum is shaping up be a good competitor. I have no use for Fleksy at all.

The "swype-ish" Google Keyboard from the play store has been working well for me -- it would be perfect for me if it could be made transparent...
I actually like the perfect keyboard in t9 mode mostly because it has bigger buttons for my fingers. Since I don't expect to be typing a novel just short messages and mostly receive notifications and perhaps using for my checkbook app, the t9 format of keys works for me.

Minuum is preparing a smartwatch version, described on their blog: http://minuum.com/blog/
You can get a version by emailing them: [email protected]
The smart watch version is a modified 1.2.5b. The only difference in functionality I saw was that you do not have to use Xposed per-app-settings to login and that space was not enabled by default.
Expanded keyboard also have letters that you can read, but so has the just released 2.0. I will probably use 2.0, it has the cursor bonus panel and more.
A quote from the person answering me: "We are hoping to get Minuum pre-loaded on future versions of the TrueSmart and all feedback is helpful."
Good that there are alternatives.
I used the Fleksy keyboard for a bit and it seemed okay. I liked some of the things I could do on there, but I really like Swype, the paid version, much more. Even when "pecking," I can still type pretty accurately. This is especially because of how it learns from your typing habits, and since I have it linked to my Gmail account and I use Swype on my phone too, it recognizes the three words/symbols I'm likely to use after a certain word. I also like to use Swype too, or Dragon Voice. And I actually prefer Dragon Voice over Google Voice because Dragon Voice lets you pause in the middle, think a bit, and continue on. As far as I know, Google Voice doesn't let you do that.
This app makes it really convenient when you have to factory reset a device or you're going into a new device. Once you register Swype with your Gmail again, you have access to all the words you saved. I love this because I hate typing out my email addresses over and over again, when I'm used to typing in just three letters and being able to find it in the predictions.
Tried the Minuum Keyboard on Truesmart
Just started trying the Minuum keyboard and I like it better than what I was using which was the perfect keyboard. It uses much less space in linear mode and responds pretty well with the gesture selection mode of use. Just started using it and adjusted the font size using the settings as well as the Big Font app for adjusting font size across apps. Works very well as far as I have played with it and don't have any problems with the setup or usage. Will play with it more and see if I have any other comments soon.

I'm back on Minuum myself instead of Flit now. With the settings as I currently have them (being able to get to the settings helps a lot!), in linear mode with the extra toolbar showing but the spacebar hidden, it ties Flit for the least screen space taken of everything I've tried, but it's still just as fast to type with so far (even when I need to press and drag for precision) and if I turn off the extra bar temporarily, naturally it gets even smaller.
I'm experimenting with Super Keyboard Free right now. It has a few features I like... The t9 entry works as I expect it to... press once for m, 2 times for n, etc. You can force to fullscreen entry in portrait orientation, and you can configure the height of the rows of keys.
Don't know if I'll like it for the long term. Some keyboards that start promising end up annoying me. It takes forever to enter anything, but since I only use the keyboard to log into accounts, the amount of time it takes to enter stuff is made up for by the fact that I can type my passwords on the first try.

Perfect Keyboard with T9 layout work well
2nd for Flit keyboard (with 1st set to letters, 2nd to numbers). Was the first thing I installed coming from the Motoactv.
I have been playing with Swiftkey (my hands down fav on regular devices) and the fleksy one.
Wish fleksy had better predictions. swiping with swiftkey works surprisingly well, but it takes up a lot of the screen
Flit Keyboard is very good choice, is very small (in 1 row mode), uses only 1/3 screen and has big buttons. Thank you for tip
This module permanently disables prediction/autocomplete/completion bar within SwiftKey keyboard.
Future versions/updates of SwiftKey might break this mod. Tested working agains versions 5.0.1.87, 5.0.2.4, 5.0.3.26, and 5.0.4.93. EDIT: No longer true as of v0.2 which should be futureproof.

It is because whole prediction is disabled and flow depends on it. Solution for using flow would be only hiding the bar (while prediction/completion would still work) but I have no real intention for this as I don't use it and to get rid of all prediction effects, disabling it fully is still required. Maybe Suggestions Toggle would work better for you (but I don't use flow so I don't know...).
@moneytoo thanks for the mod. Now its perfect.
Anyway to make long press space to toggle keyboards like Google stock keyboard?
I'm just curious but why did you want to create this mod? Prediction is the main attraction of SwiftKey. I mean, otherwise I would use any other keyboard. Just wondering and no offense meant.

I want a nice looking black/dark keyboard (the stock one on my S5 is light). My primary language is Czech which (thanks to Czech declension) can never work as good as in English. I do not write texts anyway - I use it mainly for entering urls in browser so I prefer not to waste screen space as I want to see more search suggestions in browsers (or addresses history) etc.
I hate to be one of those people that asks irrelevant things in a thread, but since you are familiar with the inner workings of the Swiftke.apk, I figured you might be able and willing to help. The one thing I dislike about swiftkey is the auto-space feature that it has. Meaning after you type in a word, it automatically adds a space after. This is a huge pain in the butt when it comes to entering passwords and usernames. Do you know what file(s) in the apk would be responsible for this behavior? I could probably figure out how to change it, I just don't know where to look.
- Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk because the XDA app sucks.

i thought the same when i saw this thread. that is pretty much the whole point of the keyboard (and flow for rapid typing), unless you only use it swiftkey for colorful themes lol, there are far better keyboards than swiftekey if you're only interested in themes. IMO
but you can disable the annoying automatic word correcting as i mention below (which is an annoying) while still keeping the prediction bar (which is very good just to use as spell checker too).

that only happens (i think) if you have "complete the current word" or "always insert a prediction" selected in settings >advanced>spacebar completion mode. i have mine at "always insert a space" and ironically it doesn't insert a space only when you select a word from the prediction bar.
you can keep the prediction bar enabled and stop auto prediction and adding a space (where words are automatically corrected in input field you didn't want) by selecting the option i mentioned above.

This module permanently disables prediction/autocomplete/completion/prediction bar within SwiftKey keyboard.
Future versions/updates of SwiftKey might break this mod. Tested working agains versions 5.0.1.87 and 5.0.2.4.
Disable SwiftKey Prediction is also available from Xposed Module Repository (source).

For 1 whole year I regularly contacted Swiftkey and asked to fix this they never fixed it, issue is Swiftkey is taking COPIED text as TYPED text. It should take typed words only (this is big reason behind inaccurate/unneeded word prediction). Could you do something about it?
Below is the email i wrote to Swiftkey:
There is one ANNOYING feature I found in Swiftkey. I checked this twice thrice and informing you. The problem is: Saving the words what we type is good but BAD/WORST part is, it also saves the words when you just copy text from other sources for example: Copying random text or paragraph from webpages, Ebooks and Documents. Those text are NOT TYPED by the user and those words get copied to internal dictionary of Swiftkey which I don't like to be predicted while I type. I copy some stuff from webpages to read it later but it doesn't mean that I like all the words in that copied text and it should not add in internal dictionary of swiftkey. Please fix this ASAP.
P.S. I have English and Hindi language packs installed. Experiment yourself. Just copy the below words in text file and save it. I would never use the below words ever. While typing, long press on the below words and hit 'Do not predict again'. It will not predict. But when you open the text file you saved and select and copy those words, they will simply added to the dictionary of Swiftkey and you'll see them come across while you type.
Words:
chateau chatman chatham zuzana zyban zuma zu beau beaune beauregard
i always wanted to use Swiftkey because it looks good, but i hated the fact you can't turn prediction off. THANK YOU.
there is one minor bug though. the keyboard size gets messed up after changing the screen rotation. it ends up being either too tall or too short?
using it on stock-ish Note 3.

It seemed to me kinda weird one time I rotated it with keyboard opened... I see it now and will check it.

tnx, i hope you can fix it
I thought it was the obfuscated method name but it is still the same. Seems like this was caused by later versions of SwiftKey - my two months old version is ok. So it's either waiting whatever new version will fix that or go through changes within apk and attempt to fix "their" bug. I will probably try in the next few days but no promise - it's really low priority for me.
thanx
thank you so much, i hated that bar. Finally. I don't know why they don't offer that option. They have that option in ios. It makes me angry how unthoughtful people are.
Swift Keyboard Rotation Bug
I absolutely love this mod mixed with the fact that you can change the size of keyboard. Both of these combined allow me to go landscape and still be able to see conversation while typing. Same bug though when I rotate it resizes to all sorts of weirdness. Would be like the greatest thing ever if you could fix. I know you said low priority but I would soooo donate if u could figure out.
This Mod disables "Quick Period with double tap spacebar" as well. I reckon that is not supposed to happen.
not working on 5.1.0.60
this mod doesn't work for me anymore on the new version 5.1.0.60
Great fix but unfortunately doesn't seem to work on latest version of SwiftKey, tried to downgrade to 5.0.5.95 but can't install previous version somehow .. Waiting for some update mate
