if u want to try froyo built go for franco http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049518 if gb than http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354 but u will have 24 hrs battery life after heavy use if u want more battery life than go for andy built http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909242
hi =)... im new on the forum and relative new on android but here is my opinion:
in my short life on android i learned that not all the roms works same way for all of us... u should try them all by urself... is not all about the games, another important point is battery life, also i think with any room u r gonna have good performance with that kind of emulators since all the roms have a good overclock
for me:
lol 1.4.2
cyanogen mod 7
nessy #hypnoss
with any of these is stable (at least for me) and u can play emulators, gameloft hd and any other games with good performance
I will recomand you the latest edition of cyanogen mod... It's stable, it have a android 2.3 core, etc.
I think you should install only one of gingerbreads roms
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
If you need performance and stability the devoid.franco is the real deal... Otherwise you could try mik's CM7 porting if you want to try gingerbread...
DO NOT flash 2.3.3 roms when you are a noob because THEY ARE ALL IN BETA VERSIONS and you will be disappointed with undesired bugs because of their officially announced bugs / incompatible kernels etc.
i recommend you to flash optimusXrom
you can find it at xda forum Optimus One, P500 Android Development
it offers good performance and there are no bugs overall, ive tried it by myself.
enjoy
Devoid Franco with Franco's Kernel!

optimusXrom looks good, I might try this one. Is there a big difference in performance? And will it affect battery life?
If anyone has this(or any other) ROM installed on their Optimus One can you please try Super Mario Kart on SuperGNES emulator and let me know if it works without much lag?
what would happen if i flash devoid.franco rom without a partitioned sd card?thanks
Well let me tell you NES and SNES emulators eat a lot of battery so choose one which gives you best battery life, the game play is same on all rom's for nes snes. I suggest Nessy-Irene its just released.

i'd go for void #echo, or devoid.franco
Lot of people seem to like devoid.franco, But it seems a bit too basic and complicated? It does not have some default android applications right? But will there be a significant increase in performance? Is this ROM ok for noobs?
If anybody here has managed a get a SNES emulator running on the LG Optimus One without lag please let me know which rom you are using!

devoid.franco rom is not basic. ROMs can be changed, so try it and then give your feedback. If not interested you can always switch over to another.
Default apps - you can take backup and flash the new rom and restore the default apps.
Increase in performance, as a noob, you cannot judge except with the linpack / setcpu / quadrant std.
start testing one by one and enjoy

most powerfull= all of them are equally powerfull (my personal preference mik's with franco's kernal i got 60.4 frames on neo core with sound @ freq.825 @ smartass and no lag on angry birds)
smoothest= noein's one. cause less apps more free space to play on. with franco v18 gives u 2 days of battery.
I get 60.6 at 787 mhz in rjtchn15's cm7 rom
All those custom GB roms are great. Just pick one that suits you best.
less apps more space make it smoothest, but we also will install apps,is not the same?

Yes, Andy rom is great in performance/battery. I was using Andy roms and never faced lagging issues in any of the games.

noejn for me has good battery life....and by the way if anyone has flashed v20g...how is it...anything better than custom roms??
I am currently using openOptimus , It is good.. But has some bugs, and battery drains faster as Apps keep running in the background.. phone does not sleep well..
Which is the best custom gingerbread ROM.??
Key factors: Best BATTERY life, Smooth Performance, rooted, Adobe FLASH support..
openOptimus build 2.202.1 OR AGA-ROM v1.3.5

I'm not sure about flash support. Never cared about it. Try Mik's ROM with franco's kernel. That's the best combo you'll ever get.
P.S: Whatever ROM you're using, if apps keeping running in the background, the battery is going to get drained. That is the law of science. Manage your apps and their syncing and the battery life will improve automatically.
for me open optimus with franco kernal v1 (16th aug) is the best combo ...
Mike's CM7 has been the best for me till now! As you said, Openoptimus does have some bugs...
Try cm7 from mik

You must give a try to mik's stable 6.5.7 with franco's kernel 19.2
It will take you beyond awesome speed as well as battery life

Use CM7 from mik and franco kernel and dont forget to say them thanks for his hard work
I installed CM7 from Mik..
but, It does not support data
Will Get back to OPENOptimus
i'm doing a rom stable with GB, it's based on CM7.
Now i have only a bug:
The serial number
try void #forever.. maybe that's the one you are looking for

and I would say gingerlol, it comes with app2sd running which works perfectly for me. (couldn't get app2sd working on open optimus) also paulo kernal with axis inversion fix is really good for battery, Havn't tried any CM7 roms because my phone came 2.3.3 preloaded and don't wanna flash different baseband (can brick phone) so am waiting (eagerly) for mik to have a fix for this
Hey I was wondering what would be the best Rom for gaming (Most Fps)
I am currently using Cyanogen Mod
Thanks
If you have the Optimus V, the Lewa port found in the android development section is very fast compared to IHO CM7...would probably run games better too I would imagine.

The only thing special about those scores is that his kernel has vsync off and he has the egl tweak, all other values are what you expect from the current nightly with ta kernel
i vote for Gingercrust v.1.5 but rom is stop !!!

I think the best ROM for gaming is the CM7 because it is smooth and you can use the "Smooth Ass" option on SetCPU. I personally love the option because I can really feel the difference when playing games and scrolling on the home screen.
study lityrem
try N2-CM7 + ta-gb kernel 1.1. I think it's best for games and very good battery life

I need to ask what does it takes to make SGA-i running stable, lag free and worth keeping.
I tried almost every thing (roms, kernels, tweaks and mods) even CM but the overall performance was not convincing.
So:
-what the ultimate combination of rom and tweaks should I use in order to make 100% use of SGA-i?

Well, there is no best Rom in XDA. Try out different roms. See which ones you like and see their performance.
Memory Wise: partition your SD card and if you want, increase internal memory with a cronmod script.
I'm pretty sure their are different scripts to increase performance and definetly work...
And kernal wise, they can either come with a rom or you can flash it seperatly.

Sell the phone. Put some money on it and buy another phone without a Broadcom chip!
Stock rom without any tweak is Lag free! With pureperformance tweaks its pretty usable. And stock based custom roms we have they are good and stable. CM7 has bugs but performance is top!
But as i understand you want a S3 mini performance from Ace-i which is impossible! So changing your phone is only option left...

yes CM7 has great performance and makes our device even near to higher devices, but right now it is useless, and this was the last solution for me!
I came to a conclusion that whatever we do to this device,no thing changes because it has severe hardware limitations.
So you are right changing it is the only solution but right now I have to keep it because I have no money and the prices in my country are very very very high

My personal Opinion: I use Touchwiz Ressoruction. You can look at the Thread for that in the dev section. It is a nice and smooth rom with the look of S3 (It has Rafael.Baugis Kernal). This is only my opinion. I respect all the other Devs who make amazing Roms, Tweaks and Kernals.

OK guys..soon I will try touchwiz resurrection and give you my feedback
but one last thing, Iam struggling to play youtube flv which I downlowded in my device..can anyone suggest a solution!!
Every stock Rom is stable... Not just touchwiz resurrection.
