Hi
Check out this keyboard its fully qwerty keyboard, really great in landscape for touch typing, it includes correct placement of commas, full stop, enter, shift etc

Try thumb keyboard. Its fantastic for spacing out the keys for thumb typing in landscape and portrait.
I switched to a dvorak keyboard, since you can't touch-type on a on-screen keyboard, why do people still need to use qwerty? Using Dvorak gives each hand a more balanced use to type
Thanks, I will give it a shot
how did you manage to switch the keyboard, I cannot find the option to to change Input Method in keyboards settings menu?
Thanks for any tips how to change the keyboard....

nevermind - I already found it by longpressing and input field.... I wonder why they removed it from the settings menu....
thumb keyboard is awesome. a little pricey for most apps but i thought the flyer standard keyboard was impossible to type on in landscape mode.
so +1 to thumb keyboard its 2.49 in the market.
I love it in landscape but in portrait the standard android keyboard is easier to use for me.

Or use thumb keyboard which can have different layouts in different orientations.
has anyone with a WiFi only Flyer gotten Swype to work (i.e., license properly)? Swype is the keyboard I'd like to use.
BTW, can anyone recommend a physical bluetooth keyboard?
I am a registered Swype beta user. Swype installer installed ok (had to turn of Mobile View in browser to get it) and so far it is running ok. Unfortunately the current beta version lacks a lot of languages that are available for the preinstalled devices....

Well I'd like to use the thumb keyboard in landscape mode and Swype in portrait. I am just too hooked on swype.

The new Swype 3.0 beta will now work with WiFi-only devices. I got it working on my Flyer. But it has some serious bugs. It is not really useable in the Notes application.
On Honeycomb, the 3.0 Swype has a resizable keyboard which is absolutely great in landscape mode. But I won't be fully satisfied until we have one keyboard with the features of Swype + Thumb Keyboard + Slide-IT + Hacker's Keyboard. Each of those keyboards has some unique features that I like.
I have the Sprint View and it came with swype installed. Of course it is an older version. Not usable in my opinion..have to swipe too far on the View/Flyer. I tried Swiftkey tablet and it installs....but isn't great for the screen size. It's too small. Plus it does not work in the notes app.

A few hours ago i bought the "Ultra Keyboard" app from the market (you can get a free 24 hour trial)
Its alot better than the defauilt keyboard with alot more options.
i find the default keyboard is good. because of the small screen.
but you could always try better keyboard.
How about swype. Its great and works fine on wildfire.

It seems that you won't find any .apk of this soft, better keyboard or any "cracked/paid once for 10M users ) as it's illegal.
Although, i'm using Better Keyboard with the iphone skin (every Better keyboard skins are FREE, better keyboard WORTH ITS PRICE)
I find it "more" accurate than the default HTC keyboard, I set my phone to "micro-vibrate" each time I type a letter, disabled auto-correction and thats just PERFECT!
Also, you can "scroll" the keyboard from right to left & versa to easily switch the "qw/azerty" keyboard to the "1=ABC / 2 BCD" keyboard, and thats awesome when you're drunk / lazy / not in the mood / have an hangover... tested and approved
I like the "Scandinavian keyboard". Its awesome, especially if you live in Sweden, Denmark etc.
I use slideIT keyboard. Its better than the default HTC keyboard.
Any keyboards with smileys enabled in sms? Just like the htc_ime mod by jonas.
The issue is that htc_ime mod isn't built for a small screen like this.

Greetings,
I am suing Swiftkey and i am very happy.
Thanks
Vatis
I use Swiftkey
Still have Swype installed but it's annoying for me cause it keeps splitting words in the middle. Think this is a problem caused by the lack of MT which makes it think your finger is jumping when you slide too fast or if your thumb is too fat
I use the Default Japanese IME keyboard. I can type incredibly fast on it, few mistakes. I prefer it to the iPhone keyboard as well.
I like swype best, but to be honest it all boils down to speed. Any of the keypads are ok, just swype is very fast and accurate for me.

I like HTC_IME keypad as I like using phone keypad over QWERTY keyboard.
HTC_IME v27 from jonasl, by far the best keyboard, not as accurate as iPhones but looks way better.

this! even if u dont want to slide around, the keys are perfectly spaced unlike the OEM keyboard.
Can you just get these keboards from the market or do you need to root your phone for them to work?
I like Anysoft Keyboard, as its the only one I've found with an apostrophe on the main pad.

SmartKeyboard Pro is the best keyboard.
I've tried many others but it is my choice.
I've tried a lot of Keyboards, but the best I've ever had is the HTC_IME by jonasl. ;-)

You can get some from the market, like SlideIt and Better Keyboard I believe, but HTC_IME and Swype need to be downloaded from the internet. No root required.
I use HTC_IME.
I keep hearing people say Swype and for the life of me I have tried it, but it just seems to make top many mistakes

Lol. What keyboard are you using? If you typed that with Swype (timely typo), then maybe try to adjust the sensitivity and maybe checkout the tutorial. I was having issues too until I played around with it. Now it's my go to keyboard. Good luck
I use perfect keyboard. I find that swiping a single finger can't possibly touch the speed of two thumbs. Plus I like the split keyboard in landscape as without it is a bitbof a stretch.

I used to use Better Keyboard before it was taken off the Market, but now I use ICS keyboard previously mentioned. If I ever used landscape to type, I'd grab a thumb keyboard.
Just picked up Swift Key X for. 49!

+1 for SwiftkeyX. And yep.. its on sale! Grab it before the price returns to normal.

LOVE better keyboard.
+1 for the ICS keyboard in the market. Great keyboard. I've got swiftkey but I just found it kind of meh.
I use Swype and I have a terrible time going back to any keyboard that doesn't have some sort of swiping interaction.
I have pretty large hands and I can reach all the way across the screen with my thumb, so I can hold and use the keyboard with the same hand. I don't think I'd be able to do that without a swiping keyboard.
I use swiftkey tablet X but there is one thing that annoys me to not end. The little area to the left of the "a" I seem to always hit vibrates when you click it but results in no "a".

Swype, but I use it like a standard keyboard (no 'swyping'). I use it because it has a hidden keyboard which makes cursor movement and other editing keys available. I came from a phone that had a mini joystick which made cursor movements around a text box very easy.
If you are wondering, to bring up the hidden keyboard you swype from the swype button to the right to the EN/'World' button.

Quite a few keyboards in the market have hidden cursors. Perfect keyboard and Gingerbread keyboard (by Stephen Lin I think) have hold, slide up space bar to get cursors.

Any suggestions on what a good keyboard to use on my Touchpad?
I'm currently using some free one called Tablet Keyboard I think. It's ok but when in portrait view, i find it a bit tedious to keep switching between left and right half of the keyboard/screen.

Hackers keyboard is by far the best i've come accross yet.
swype (the new beta works perfectly on touchpad) or swiftkey tablet x for me
Thumb keyboard for me
Multilingual works well for me. Very configurable.
EDIT: I meant Multiling, danged autospell messed me up

Thumb keyboard or Swype, have them both, since I broke my right wrist Swype has been a lifesaver, lol.
if only the default keyboard can be slimmer and smaller. that will just do the job. anyone know how to do it?
or maybe port the webos keyboard
Swiftkey is definitely my favorite

SwiftKey all the way
I've tried Smarter Keyboard, Swift Key X, GO Keyboard, and the Stock keyboard.
The predictions in Swift Key are the best I've ever seen. I bought it for my DesireHD and that worked so well. Until now I was using the Beta 3 on my TP but it's expired, so no more predictions
Now I have to buy the Tablet version because the normal one isn't quite suited for a 10" screen.
BTW, GO Keyboard is terrible. I like how minimal SwiftKey is. I don't want some stupid shortcut bar taking up room on the screen like in GO!
SwiftKey tablet is great, love the split keyboard and the predictions.
Sent from my jelly bean gnex
I've tried them all.and when you compare configuration possibilities and customization nothing beats Thumb Keyboard in any field. Swiftkey may have a little better prediction but nit enough to warrant me switching over from Thumb
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
I'm using the stock keyboard most of the time since it has the best accuracy multi finger typing as on a physical keyboard.
Thumb Keyboard is the best I've used. (old screenshot below)
You can also check float and split keyboard. It has 4 different layout. I dont really use the prediction, so i dont know how the prediction is compared to other keyboard. But, it definitely has one of the best keyboard layout option i would say. These screenshots are two out of the 4 options.
Thank me if i helped

another keyboard worth to try superkeyboard . name says it all its super
Swype Beta FTW! Best keyboard on the market right now. Ironically its actually not on the market... Oops, I meant play store. Swyping> letter typing. An average Swype user inputs more words per minute than a skilled conventional "button presser"
Hey, i have been looking around at keyboard emulators and I found a few I like.
I was wondering if there is anyway to disable the stupid directional arrows when typing in landscape mode. I always end up hitting a direction when i mean to delete something. Anyone know of a fix for this? I am currently using an Iphone keyboard emulator
Edit: this looks like what i want, but i am not sure it will work on my device any one know?

i figured out what is adding in the arrow keys, its HTC sense but i also like the sense camera. Does anyone know a way just to disable the arrow keys again on landscape, because it allows you to disable them on portrait mode

Hey,
I've tried the jelly bean keyboard in the market. It's ok.but it's no where as accurate or gives as many options as Swype beta .
bruk
I like Kii Keyboard. It's fairly new but works great, it supports swype and it's free.
+1 Swiftkey
You can disable directional arrows in Swiftkey.
