Can Flyer play 1080i M2Ts file ? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I know 1080p MOV file can be player smoothly
can anyone test M2TS file?

I tried this file type and it wasn't even recognized as a video format in any player i've tried even the stock player.

try diceplayer 1.3.0
rename m2ts to ts.
diceplayer can play 720p / but 1080i/p is not sure ( depending on bitrate/profile )

Since the screen isn't actually 1080, does it matter?

I found out now that converting everything to HD AVC H.264 mp4 480*360 works well without hiccups for me.
I use Format Factory to convert, which is free. The UI sucks but it converts okay.

[Q] View hardcoded subtitles in MKV files?

Has anyone found an app or workaround to view hardcoded subs for MKV files or other video files?
If not, can someone post a link on how-to extract subtitle files from a video file into .SRT format?
correct me if i'm wrong but i thought hardcoded subs were placed directly onto the movie vs softcode that use an srt etc file? shouldn't they just be there?
Some video files have subs embedded that you can toggle on/off with no need for separate files, I guess he's talking about that?
You must mean softsubs as boondoc said. Try mVideoPlayer on the market if that does not work you can use mkvextract to export the sub file.

Sorry, I meant soft subs included in the same file. Not hardcoded, my mistake. I will give mvideoplayer a shot.

You can also try MX Video Player. Uses 2 cores on sw decoding and also having hw decoding.
I recommend Dice player also, for those couple of files MX Video Player can't play properly.
I found MX Video Player to be the better of the two recommended. HW decoding works great for high resolution 1280x720 MKV and XviD encoded video.
mVideoPlayer works ok for XviD and DivX, but the MKV file audio/video was choppy. I imagine the SW decoder is optimized as well.
Thanks to both of you guys for the suggestions!
Diceplayer support MKV subtitle without extraction + Full Video HW acceleration
+ DTS/Flac/AC-3 audio.
Hi,
I have nearly the same issue, but on an eeepad Transformer. I created a mkv file with the programm makeMKV. This programm creates one mkv file with everything inside (video, all audio tracks, all subtitles). If I play this file with vlc on the pc, I can choose between all audio tracks and all subtitles. But, if I play the file on my asus eeepad transformer with mx video (or with any other app, for example vPlayer) there's only the possibility to chose between the diffenrent audio tracks. Subtitles can't be chosen.
Has someone an idea?

[Request] MKV 3D Video Players

Anyone know which players support mkv format in 3D?
The built-in player cannot play mkv format; vplayer supports mkv but 3D
Or anyone know how to install codecs for the built-in video player?
look like impossible
Have you tried RockPlayer? I know that it's capable of playing both mkv and 3D videos. Pretty sure I've played a 3D mkv video using it as well. Been a while, so I can't remember for sure, but it's worth a shot.
Vplayer dont wirk on cm7 Sent my trollpital bed
MX Video player works great at playing MKV files
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad
You can also install the ARM 7 codec to improve performance
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mxtech.ffmpeg.v7_vfpv3d16
Yeah, MX player works and is what I use.

This player cant play 3D. Or can? How?
I believe Mobo player will play them.
No. Only one 3D player is default player. Unfortunately. Or not?
if you already have a 3d video downloaded from youtube use bsplayer. it plays all formats.
if you want to watch some chinese 3d video download 3dvplayer.only mp4 format.
Try this...

[Q] How to play .MKV files smooth?

Hey there...
I'm new into DNA and HTC. I have some movies in .MKV format. Whem I play them with the regular HTC player they are NOT smooth. I downloaded some Video Players from the Play Store, and I got the same result: I can't play .MKV video files in a smooth way with my DNA. I searched a little bit, and seems to be that HTC only plays .MP4 files and the rest of formats should be converted to MP4.
Is that true? Any experience or suggestion for this problem?
Thanks!

Is your dna rootable? Have you tried mx player?
Unfortunately is not rootable since it has the 2.04 software version. Yeah, I tried MX Player by itself and then try it using the MX Player Codec (ARMv7). But no luck...
Try converting the video and change the file format. That should produce a smoother playback. That's what I do at least.

In MX Player try using S/W decoding reather than H/W decoding, most of my mkvs work for me that way.
Try MOBOPlayer its free and plays all my videos super smooth, plus has the pop out feature to watch video while like reading for instance. My mkv's are in 720p ac3 stereo 192kbps if that helps. The gpu works best with the MP4 format though with baseline at id say 8000kbps max.. grab something like mediacoder which is free to encode with for testing.
Thanks guys! Using Mobo Player with soft decode solved my problem. Appreciate it guys...

[Q] blu ray rip uncompressed mkv playback ( makemkv, com )

I'm checking to see if the snapdragon 800 / adreno 330 at the heart of the xperia Z ultra can playback mkv bluray rips made using makemkv (free while in beta, aka forever) from makemkv.com. (caution resulting file can be 15-30GB)
I'd like to hear if anyone has tried it, either off a SNB (windows) share on a 801.11 N or AC wireless network or right from the microsd card.
The best apps to try for playback are:
bsplayer
Archos Video player (with codec add-on for sound)
VLC nightlys (not available in the play store, google for the apk)
I'm considering getting this phone or another based on the snapdragon 800 and want to know if it can flawlessly playback these files and for bonus points if anyone has successfully been able to output the playback over MHL/HDMI cable to a larger 1080p display.
Thanks!
i play my 1080p Movie mp4 rips and they perform great
tho the video app cant play avi video formats sadly
I use 'dice player' and it works well for mkv file even streaming.

I'm guessing these are re-compressed 1080p movies. I want to know if the phone can handle playback of the actual video streams on the bluray itself. MakeMKV rips the actual video streams and puts them all in a mkv container. The resulting file is often 20-30GB, not the 5-10GB of the 1080p files I'm guessing you tried. BTW, if you try the apps I listed above (diceplayer too as was recommended) you will have no trouble playing back those old AVI files.
720p 10bits mkv ( vlc/mx player) flawless
1080p 10bits mkv( vlc/mx player) flawless

Great testing, looking forward to your results tonight! Is your link speed on wireless close to 300Mbit?
Also, try Archos (google: archos video player apk and Archos Video All Codecs Plugin) and bsplayer are good ones to try.
Great to hear about 10bit 1080p anime releases too!
Thanks a bunch!
