[Q] Save "Pin" of SIM card in Galaxy S II - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a prepaid sim card. When ever i start my phone, i have to enter the pin of the sim card.
In Nokia I was able to save this PIN in one of the phone settings and thus it enabled me to restart my phone and use it without me entering the PIN.
Is there any setting like in Galaxy S II? Searched couldn't find it.
My phone is unbranded just in case
thanks

you can disable the PIN in security settings. No idea if that works the way you want it to but give it a try:
go to Settings -> Location and Security -> Sim Lock (translated roughfly, maybe it says something similar) -> untick "Lock SIM Card"

[Q] SIM PIN

Hello All,
I recently rooted my ATT SGS2 and now it doesnt allow me to set a pin for the sim.
"Lock SIM card" under "Set up SIM card lock" is diabled and when I try to check it, it asks me a pin and when I enter some pin it says its a wrong pin. It only has 4 or 5 attempts and now I have only one attempt left. What is happening here. Any ideas?
I am unable to post link.
I just picked up my S2 last week and just started exploring this very thing. I thought it would be good to lock my SIM but, when I clicked on to use a pin and then change pin, it asks me for the old pin which I don't have. It went from 5 attempts left to one, even though I only entered one pin thinking I was setting it up. Now I'm afraid to touch it and I can't deselect the "Lock SIM Card" checkmark without entering a pin. I'm so confused. I've searched in XDA about it, but can't find anything.
Any gurus out there that might be able to help a twit that was smart enough to leave BB and come to Android?

Most likely its all 0's zeros.. that's what all my cell phones uses by default.
so if you purchased the phone brand new never used then 99% all zero's
Well, doing a little more searching and a -lot- more reading, I discovered that the 8 digit code is under your cell phone account at your carrier's site. I went to ATT, found the PUK code (eight digits). That's the pin. You enter that first, then you can change the pin to whatever you like. I opted to leave it alone.

The PIN and the PUK with SIM Unlocking?

I've read a lot about unlocking phones over the years. But this is the first time I have actually come up on a feature called "Sim Card Lock" where you enter a PIN to lock a particular Sim card. This feature is unlocked as long as I have my Sprint Sim in the phone. But as soon as I put in, like say, an AT&T Sim the Sim Lock feature turns on and locks. In other words, it has a checkmark where I have to enter a PIN to unlock it. Sorry to seem like a complete noob. But is this the same "sim unlock" many are trying to crack? There must be a PIN that has been coded in that locks down any foreign Sim. If so, it seems like it would be possible to figure it out. Every time I enter the incorrect PIN code, it always says I have "0 attempts left". So I can enter it as many times as I like without locking down my ATT Sim. Anyone know of a way to figure this out. Or is it even possible at all?

How can I get rid of the sim lock?

My sim card has that annoying sim lock where I have to enter a 4 digit pin every time I switch on the watch. Is there anyway I can disable that from within the watch? I know it would be easy to do on a phone, but I have no device that takes nano sim.
Just try to remove sim unlock in a phone, after that insert your sim in the S. This should work.
Settings -> Gear Info (At the Bottom) -> Sim Card Settings -> Uncheck Pin lock

Worked perfectly. Thanks!

Can't activate device after unlock

Just unlocked my Poco. Since an account is associated with it, I need to unlock it. To unlock it I need to be connected to Internet. When I select my wifi network there is no keyboard to type a password. I have no service on Poco and recovery number was set to this phone number so I can't remove the device from Xiaomi account.
Any ideas?
Edit: Ok so I typed wifi pass in activate device input and copied it to wifi pass input. It connected, but to activate account I need mobile data. I have SIM card inside but no service. I have set a pin on SIM card maybe thats why?
I had same issue during associating phone with an account. I couldn't log in from my phone to mi account. Had to disable wifi and enable mobile data. Pretty autistic.
Ran into exactly same problem ?.
Put sim in another phone, enter pin, and receive unlock code for two step verification. Request unlock code on poco f1 over wifi.
I solved wifi problem by setting up open wifi network.
Yeah, drove to a friend who has phone with nano SIM card (my old one has micro) and managed to activate with his SIM card. I think I had no service because I had pin set up on SIM card while he didn't have pin set up.
Anyway problem solved

Dual SIM Selector

Having issues with this app - anyone else got it working?
It seems to disable the ability to call out on SIM 1 and only way i have found to renenable it is a hard reset (it says 'radio off' when using it).
I find this app essential to use dual SIM phones with android auto.
Hi,
Am having the same problem.
Dual SIM Selector didn't work properly untill I disabled automatic energy management for this app in the battery section of the phone's settings menu (together with either of the two SIM cards selected for calls in the phone's dual SIM menu). It worked well after this.
Then (don't know if this is in any way related) Google Assistant (G Apps?) started asking questions about which SIM to use for data, calls and sms-messages. I tried to ignore it for a little while, but it kept popping
up. So eventually I figured I answer questions, get it over with, event though these settings were already set in the phone's settings menu. And so I choose to set all the settings in accordance to how the were in the phone's settings menu: use SIM 1 for data, calls and sms-messages.
Since then, I can use SIM 2 for incoming calls, but not for outgoing calls. During automatic selection (beit when Dual SIM Selector knows which SIM to use, or when Dual SIM Selector needs to ask me) the app shows SIM 2 is being used, but it turns out SIM 1 is dialing. Have tried different settings in the settings menu, as well as in Dual SIM Selector. Keeps on using SIM 1. Even when I set the menu to choose which SIM card to use at each call: I get the option to choose for SIM 2, but it uses SIM 1 no matter which SIM I pick.
And when I disable SIM 1, and set all phone and/or app settings to use SIM 2, my phone tells me "radio off" and stops dialing. It really feels to me some app (G Apps?) is overriding my phone and/or app settings after a one time configuration.
Do you recognize any interference of Google apps?
Have you been able to fix the issue, or found alternatives/workarounds?
I have same issue.
Somehow I resolved it by manual carrier selection, but it came back when i rebooted my device.
Did anyone elese had same issue?

Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
I reached out to the developer to report the issue as the app is clearly doing something to disable outgoing calls on the non default sim. Not had a response sadly.
