VibraFix forces the haptic feedback to stop.
On some devices, when you uncheck the haptic feedback option in settings, vibrate stills enabled for some keys.
This app is useful for people who are annoyed with this, in my point of view, bug.
It's also allways a good idea to deactivate haptic feedback in order to save some power juice.
How does it work ?
VibraFix stops totaly the vibrate with a rude and simple method : changing the permission (777 to 444) for the vibrate ressource.
Features :
Vibrafix forces vibrate to stop.
VibraFix can be started automaticaly at boot.
VibraFix is a quiet application running in the background and uses very little resources.
VibraFix can enable again the vibrate when a phone call or/and a SMS is received.
There is also an attempt to deal with the vibrate when an AlarmClock is trigged.
Optional notification in order to enable/disable vibrate in one click.
Devices concerned :
This fix has been tested only on Motorola Defy (stock ROMs android 2.1 and android 2.2.2)
but should certainly works also on other phone devices/ROMs with the same bug.
According to stats, VibraFix is installed and used on :
Motorola devices ~80% : Motorola Defy, Motorola Milestone2, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Droid I & II
but also : Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy Mini, Samsung Galaxy Ace, HTC Evo 4G, leo
Donations :
VibraFix is FREE to use - and without ads.
My aim is really not to earn money : I have made this app for myself first.
However, if you think VibraFix is useful for you, Paypal donations are welcome to support me.
Share and publish this app cost me the price of a google android market account and several hours of working ....
I can also understand, you don't want to donate for a fix so just increase the thanks'O'Meter on this forum or/and increase rating in Android market .
It's free and make me happy !
Thanks for supports, and feel free to post in that thread : report any bugs or suggest improvements you want.
Thanks to bobbyphoenix for convincing me to make this thread and for people who have already said thanks.
Feedback is always welcome.
Permissions :
WARNING : The application must have ROOT rights. : in order to change system files permissions
Also there are some permisions needed :
android.permission.VIBRATE : in order to test vibrate and vibrate on SMS received.
android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE : in order to detect a phone call
android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS : in order to detect a SMS received
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED : in order to enable the app at phone booting (autostart)
com.android.launcher.permission.INSTALL_SHORTCUT : in order the user can create a shortcut for fast enable/disable VibraFix
android.intent.action.ACTION_POWER_CONNECTED,android.intent.action.ACTION_POWER_DISCONNECTED : in order to manage "In charge" option.
I know all these permissions can be sensible that's why the source code is shared (link in the post).
Download :
From android market or use the QRbarcode in this post.
Screenshot :
in this post or from here and here.
Notes :
+ When roots rights are disabled, VibraFix is useless and its options are disabled.

Sorry for my english.
Known bugs :
+ Vibrate on AlarmClock option works only on some AlarmClock (stock Android AlarmClock and Motoblur AlarmClock).Version 1.3.1 tries to add more Alarm app triggers.
+ Disabling vibrate after an AlarmClock is done only after 10 minutes and not when the alarm is killed by user.

History :
I have got my Defy in the end of February 2011 with android 2.1.
I really dislike the haptic feedback. So my first try was to uncheck option about it in phone settings.
Bah ... still enabled ! I have searched for a solution and was surprised to find NOTHING.
hmmm... Coz I have some JAVA knowledge, I decided to code a solution for that : my first android application, VibraFix was born.
I really thought this application will be useless after the official update (android 2.2.1) ...
but nothing changed and I still use my fix.
Thanks again!!! You really made my day.
Thanks ill test it out

Any chance for a new version that will run under Froyo?
I have Froyo for about half an hour and missed it from the very first minute.

I'm running the official 2.2.1, and it's working for me. If you just upgraded to FroYo you probably lost root. Even if you have the Superuser Icon you have to root again.

I'm on official 2.2.1 too and the fix works fine.
Bobbyphoenix is certainly right ...
Also last time I upgraded to 2.2.1, I have noticed a bug in settings saving when losing root rights, but I think I have solved this bug in the last update.
When root rights are disabled, the application should reset all options to the default ones : mean vibrate is enabled again ...
So don't forget to check settings of the app after rooting your phone again.
I added my initial post about that in a new part called 'notes'.
But if still not work, uninstall VibraFix and install it again.
... and If still not work, repost here, I will inspect the code in that case.
(in fact even if that works, you are welcome to repost here to say it ty ).
Hi! Thank you for the great app. Its working perfectly but can you integrate in future versions options to enable/disable vibration for integrated alarm?
hi krisberck, thanks for feedback.
Concerning the feature you want, I'm sorry but I think it's not possible to do.
The thing you call 'integrated alarm' is not a part of android system but in fact an another application.
As an external app, no system trigger can be detected.
Perhaps there is an idea to solve that : find a way to detect notification about the Alarm Clock App in the status bar.
At the moment, I don't know if it's possible but I will search for that.
Thank you for your quick replay. I will search and if i found i will tell you immediately.
Forget my previous post. It's possible.
I found how to enable the vibrate when the Motorola Alarm is ringing.
Now, need to find a trigger when the Motorola Alarm is killed ...
Just a question of time...
And for this last issue, if it's really impossible to find, there are some ideas to bypass the problem : a timer or a specific amount of vibrations before disable again the vibrate.
Cool! If you don't find another way except timing you could set it for about 10min. It would be enough I guess even for the people that have hard to wake up and snooze the alarm couple of times. Thanks again!

I'm not 100% sure but for what a read i never found solution for custom roms that are based on official roms. For custom roms that are completly defferent from motorola roms - like CM7 or MIUI maybe it fixed. Until VibraFix only one solution exist - completely disable the vibrations. I never found such automatic way
finally i fixed the vibration frenzy, 10x for this app !
great app, haptic feedback is really annoying most of the time. Works great on BB 1.55!

Welcome to Cognition 777! The idea behind this rom is to unify my rom making efforts into a single rom for the i9100 and the i777 with only minor changes between them to make managing two or three roms take the time of one rom. FAQ
How do I enable my phone to connect to Kies?
Disable USB debugging
Setting > Applications > Development > untick Enable USB Debugging
How do I navigate recovery?
Volume buttons are up and down
Power button is back
Home button is select
How do I clear data from recovery?
Select "wipe data/factory reset"
Why don't I see the new download links?
Clear your cache or do a hard refresh (ctrl+r or ctrl+f5)
Is this rom rooted?
YES!
Why is my battery draining so fast?
Testing the rom for less then a day and reporting a battery drain is like sticking your face in a blender and wondering why it hurt. Please calibrate your battery, check your apps usage, etc.
Why is this app not working(FC)?
When updating, tons of things can go wrong, especially with using old data on a new app. If you are getting an FC after updating, clean the cache on the app, if that doesn't work, clear the data. (Settings > Applications, find you app, click the buttons)
Good luck with your ROM, i'd stay up and wait to try it out if i wasn't falling asleep in to my keyboard

Google AOKP for the full feature list. It has many more features than CM9 and has a different design that many people prefer. AOKP also has a different philosophy: push a lot of interesting features, while CM tries to get the ROM on as many phones as possible.
Video does not play 360p / slows, why no one writes it in the list of "What's Not Working", is a serious bug

Im still having Market FC's.
Tried installing GApps multiple times and installed .apks from the net (tried mixing and matching aswell) and Im still getting a crash while it loads when I launch. Im signed in on my google account (I read that if your not it can crash) Ive tried wiping the cache and data, still nothing. Trying Fix Permissions in Rom manager and if that doesnt work GApps again (any version you recommend? I dont really know what one to get, 99% sure I have the newest version).
The date on the version is- 23/04/2012
Any ideas?
Also is there a way to get back the recorder and other apps like that?
It didnt crash when I opened it after a reflash on ICS and GApps but once I tried to DL Astro file manager it crashed and is now FC'sing, Ive tried restarting but its not making a difference.
From now on you'll be able to identify which alert you've missed without turning on your screen!
LEDs U CTRL (LUC)enables you to configurate each individual LED light in 16 colors, individual speed and fully customizable loop cycles.
Combined with LUC.radar it lets you use the illumination bar to show notifications for 20 different app alerts controlled by a timer or your alarm.
--- Xperia U with ROOT access only ---
Unfortunately it's not completely free.. I've worked a few weeks to get it working decently and looking good.
As a freelancer this is valuable time. Asking the price of a cup of coffee felt fair to me to compensate some of that time.
You can always help me translate the help files if you'd like to get a free version!
--- Create your own LED sequence ---
For those with some computer skills and that want to make their own rainbow sequence variation, you can download this file and create your own led sequence from scratch in AfterFX to play with > www.m.rckmn.nl/LUC/LEDs_U_CTRL.rar
It provides your with an afterFX file that is processed and will generate a shell script sequence. Basic instructions are included
--- LUC 2.0 (2013) possible features ---
I started a poll in a new thread (Q&A) where you can vote for the features you find most important in v2.0:

How to root android 4.0+ ICS:
Use the Bin4ry method for quick and easy root.
For GB (android 2.3.7)

The 3.184 kernel is made by KeiranFTW
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766892
To enable Root access and be able to install this app you need to do 3 things.
1- READ! this wiki from DooMLoRD about rooting
Read the first 8 posts of the above page if you have no idea what you are going to do.
If you think you've understood it all, you can continue with the next 2 things on your own risk!
I will not be responsible for any damage you might do to your phone by using the information in this post.
2- Unlock your bootloader
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
3- Flash a rooted Kernel:
- advanced stock kernel - by DooMLoRD
- SSpeed Kernel v6.1 - by krabappel2548
Be aware, these Kernels are only for the .564 stock roms.
If you want a custom rom you can find them here > KA02/KA03 Sspeed - by krabappel2548
This is something you'll have to do on your own risk!
I do not provide support or take any responsibility if anything goes wrong.
Compatibility Issue
For those getting a This item is not compatible with your device message:
If you use a custom ROM the most likely the Cook has changed something in your build.prop file which Google Play checks to see if your device is compatible.
To fix this do the following:
1- go and get your build.prop out of the /system/ folder
2- Open it in Notepad++ (or similar) and find this line:
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/ST25i_1262-1658/ST25i:2.3.7/*************
3- now change the red part into:
6.0.B.3.184/R7P_zw:user/release-keys
so you'll get something like:
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/ST25i_1262-1658/ST25i:2.3.7/6.0.B.3.184/R7P_zw:user/release-keys
4- save this back in your system folder and set the right permissions:
5- reboot your phone and the google play's compatibility is restored again.
Warranty
As stated when you unlock the bootloader:
This may void your warranty and/or any warranty from your operator.
So depending on your local operator it could void your warranty.
For those wanting more info check here > Sony Forum
From personal experience I can tell that BASE in Germany doesn't seem to care.
2 days after I unlocked the bootloader and put on a custom ROM my girlfriends phone dropped and the glass was broken.
Without relocking (not possible) or reverting to the Stock Rom we send it back to get repaired. We had to send it back without the rearcover and battery.
1.5 weeks later we got a brand new (!) phone back from BASE/Sony. So no problems there
My guess is (but no guarantee) that since this is a 'cheap' phone it's to expensive to let somebody repeat it so they just send a new one.
So I think that operators/sony will not complain about the unlocked bootloader as long as you don't send it back for software-issues (since this can be caused by wrongfully unlocking/rooting/custom roms etc)
Great Work!
What all the other apps miss out is Facebook notifications.
I've seen requests for Whatsapp as well..
I'm sure the other users will have other needs
Damn, this looks awesome! Since fb and whatsapp are already requested I'm just adding MailDroid
btw, my Xperia U is already rooted, but I would have rooted it for this app
And I think of selling my Xperia S for an Xperia U to get this illumination bar control! :good:
My goodness, this is sooo kool. How I wish xps has the hardware support
nixx-X1 said:
At the moment I'm working on a App that will give you full control to use the full-color ledbar on the Xperia U.
There are already a few apps for this, but I felt they didn't five enough control as I wanted to have individual lights to be set per application in different colors and/or speed.
Thus I'm in the process of building it myself and am nearly there.
As I read about it here with the other apps people tend to have their own preferences on what kind of notifications they want to use it for.
So please, tell me what programs you'd like to include and I'll see to add them to the list.
Before getting too happy; you need a rooted rom to be able to use this app (unfortunately the only option to get full control)
so my other question is, will this be worth to root you Xperia U for? (check poll!)
To get an idea of what it will do/look like:
This part is working already, now busy with assigning apps for notification monitoring..
If you check the colored line + parameters you'll get an idea about the amount of control.
speed = multiplier (1 is slow - 200 is epileptic)
still = seconds (in between fade in - fade out of 1 blink)
pause = seconds (in between the different blinks)
loops = times (looping the set of blinks multiple times)
break = seconds (pause between set of blinks between cycles)
cycles = max cycles (max about of cycles = time out)

NO it doesnt ..it has an LED indicator on the right side near the power button ..u can check the phone model on google
i suggest u keep 2 versions of the app.
one with basic features which dont require root.
and one for advanced users who are rooted.
or u could just mention that some features wouldnt work without root.

Well, the thing is... without root you'll have an app like the one from rundgong (illumination bar notification) as there it's impossible to get extra control of the LED lights without rooting.
thus I'm hoping a chef will help me out to provide an easy root/un-root for the Xperia U suited for everyone that wants to keep his stock rom (and warranty)
WoW i am just looking for this

Yay, go for it =) I'm checking this thread daily for updates, I can't wait to let the lightshow happen
Nice the third illumination app :good:
Now we need an app called LED on Rhythm for the XPS or XPU (from external sound/voice from the MIC) just to show off
(I think it is possible, because flashing the screen to sound from microphone is already possible with an app. And maybe when more about the code is known even this can work with the bar, since it's possible to change the brightness)
First i want to tell you this app looks awesome!
How goes your progress on app?
Thank you Nixx for developement!

Note: MoDaCo Toolkit is no longer available via the Play Store. MoDaCo Toolkit is now a free, ad-supported application with a Pro version. Previous Play Store purchasers will receive the Pro key free of charge (details to follow)
As you may know, I often create modifications for Android and rather than them ending up all over the place, I'm now adding them to the 'MoDaCo Toolkit', which is built to use the Xposed Framework - http://mdc.gd/xposedfw. I plan on updating this every time I come up with a new tweak, be it a generic Android modification or specific to a particular device.
The pre-requisites are as follows:
You MUST be rooted
You MUST have the Xposed Framework installed and active
You MUST accept that modifications are used at your own risk
You may NOT distribute the toolkit (including in custom ROMs) - link back to this topic
Hit the 'Follow' button at the top right of the main MoDaCo Tookit topic to be notified of updates
Got that? OK.
The Toolkit can be downloaded in the main Xposed Toolkit thread here.
To use, simply download and install, enable the module in 'Xposed settings' and then enable the mods you want in the 'MoDaCo Toolkit' application. Note that most modifications will require a reboot to take effect and not all modifications will work on all devices!
HTC One specific modifications currently included are:
Action Launcher Pro + HTC One: Transparent status bar.
HTC One: Disable high volume warning - disable the volume warning that shows when cranking up the sound with headphones in.
HTC One: Enable ADB with secure lockscreen - ADB WILL NOT be disabled on boot if the device has a secure lockscreen configuration. DANGER: This is a potential security risk - handle with care!
HTC One: Enable advanced reboot options - aka EPM, show reboot / recovery / bootloader reboot options on power menu.
HTC One: Enable button options (only required on Android 4.1 ROMs) - the button options item will appear in settings, allowing you to configure the back button long press as menu.
HTC One: Volume wake - wake your device with the volume keys!
HTC One: Hide Kid Mode on power menu - this removes the Kid Mode option on the menu displayed when you long press the power button.
HTC One: Match battery image to % - the standard battery images don't correspond to the % remaining, this fixes that.
HTC One: Rename Flashlight to Torch - for us UK types.
HTC One: Show Blinkfeed icon in launcher - if you are using a third party launcher, this provides a simple way to access Blinkfeed. Just remove all the homescreens.
Other modifications currently included are:
Amazon MP3: Force US locale - use this if cloud player is not yet available in your country. Clear data on Amazon MP3 after enabling.
Facebook: Force Home Compatibility: Facebook will detect your device as Facebook Home compatible.
Google: Disable Wallet checks - remove region and root checks from Google Wallet.
Google: Force Play Store to 720P - your device will appear as a 720P device to the store, useful if apps are missing on your 1080P device.
Google: Prevent app disabling - apps from outside your region (e.g. Wallet, Sound Search) will not be disabled on startup.
Google Nexus 7: Show Camera in launcher - restore the missing Camera icon to the launcher.
Google Nexus (all): Disable safe volume warning.
Google Nexus (all): Enable multi-user support if unsupported on stock (e.g. Nexus 4).
Google Nexus (all): Enable advanced reboot options - aka EPM, show reboot / recovery / bootloader reboot options on power menu.
Google Nexus (all): Show user on power menu - this allows you to switch users using the long-press power menu.
HTC First: Hide carrier in status bar - stop the carrier name showing in the top left.
Pebble: Low priority notification (removes persistent icon).
SlingPlayer: Disable legacy hardware warning - remove the warning when connecting to older Slingboxes.
System: Allow all rotations - rotation will be allowed in all directions, even upside down.
System: Device properties - a number of device properties (normally read from build.prop) can be changed on the fly. BOARD, BRAND, DEVICE, MODEL and PRODUCT are included initially. Want others? Let me know!
System: Disable forward lock - apps will not be able to install to /mnt/asec, instead installing to /data/app. NOTE: May cause issues on some Samsung devices.
System: Enable action bar menu button - the software menu button will be displayed even if you have a hardware menu button.
System: Enable app buttons - the disable and notification options will be enabled for system apps.
System: Enable dreams service - enable the dreams screensaver service.
System: Enable lock screen rotation - if your device supports it, this will allow lock screen use in landscape.
System UI: Custom operator name.
System UI: Hide AM/PM on clock - hide the AM/PM indicator on the clock when not in 24H mode.
System UI: Hide battery meter - hide the battery meter, useful if you're using a third party app in the notification bar like Battery Widget Reborn (now also supports the HTC One!) or battery percentage.
System UI: Hide ongoing IME switcher - hide on the input method switch prompt.
System UI: Show battery percentage - show the remaining battery percentage next to the clock.
System UI: Show navigation bar - this allows you to show the navigation bar on supported devices.
Trackball Alert: Easy download link - easily download the TBA app and Xposed module.
Wireless: Enable NFC when screen is off - NFC works when the screen is off, useful for NFC launch tasks.
Wireless: Enable Face Lock with VPN - VPN (Credential Storage) will be available with Face Lock security.
If you have specific tweak requests or general questions, please visit http://mdc.gd/modacotoolkit
Note that special steps are required to activate the Xposed framework on the HTC One - see http://mdc.gd/xposedfwone for further details.
Big thanks go out to rovo89 for the framework and also to Bharath Prabhuswamy for the application icon.

Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for the toolkit. I don't know what I'm missing, but I can't get wallet to work. I always get insufficient privileges message. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? BTW I'm using toolkit 18
Version 19 is now online for manual download and via auto-update (launch the MoDaCo Toolkit app to initiate a background update check).
Changes:
HTC One: Match battery image to %
On the HTC One the battery indicator can be rather misleading, this mod makes the image correspond exactly to how much battery is really left.
HTC One: Rename Flashlight to Torch
In the UK we don't call it a Flashlight, it's a torch. This fixes it!
Play Store: Lower case wishlist menu (for @le3ky!)
Rachid didn't like seeing 'My apps' and 'My Wishlist' together... so this makes it 'My wishlist'. Heh.
Note that Xposed Framework 2.1.4 now REQUIRED for HTC One (and Galaxy S4!) due to added support for resource replacement - see this post to download.
Don't forget that for a limited time you can get MoDaCo Toolkit Pro free - see this post for more details.

Ouch, attitude much? It doesn't work on your device... Only the Sprint One seems to support it currently, it's down to the base ROM. It's in the Toolkit as in many devices, it does get it working.

I use WiFi Calling most of the time, and whenever I use it, notification comes on. This notification comes on only when WiFi Calling is used. Sometimes I don't want to use WiFi calling, and I have click on the notification, go into settings and turn off WiFi Calling. Is it possible to add this toggle in the notification? (Make it expandable). Also, when I'm connected to WiFi network, but WiFi calling is turned off, I have to go deep into the settings to turn WiFi Calling on, It would be outstanding if same WiFi calling notification would come on every time phone is connected to WiFi Network, so I can quickly turn WiFi calling back on if I need it.
I hope this is not confusing. I understand that you are probably not even familiar what WiFi calling is, so please let me know if you want me to do any testing (assuming it is possible).
Once again thanks for everything you do, I've been your fan from HTC Hero days

If you mess up with crazy settings, use recovery to delete this file
/data/data/com.hamzah.onehandmode/shared_prefs/pref.xml
Or use the ADB script attached, DONT FLASH IT, its a bat file to run on PC, requires ADB

Reboot your device and spam the power button. This will disable the xposed framework and all the modules. You can then go and change the settings in the module or disable it and reboot.
Hi,
Great idea!
Few things though:
It would be very nice that the things you mention in OP would be realized. I tried this on a GT-I9505 (galaxy mega 6.3) and such phone needs it for the keyboaard only IMHO. Other apps are no problem to have them fullscreen. So maybe:
- on per app basis (where keyboard is an app too)
- masterswitch in notification area or as widget (or any place that can be reached easily to switch keyboard to one side)
Kind regards,
Treare

This is cool.
Did you consider to have function like T2 Ultra's single-handed mode?
(double tap home button to drop everything to the bottom.

Ok, had to update to newest framework but the mod isn't working correctly
Nothing appears, just the title bar as seen on screenshot.
I'm currently running CM-based ROM (kitkat) on my N7100.
Not working on Sprint Note 3 running Sprint S5 ROM
