I got fed up waiting for the latest update on my O2 S2 so thought i'd try the 2.3.4 update. I didn't at this time realise it was an XEU firmware.
Using Odin was straight forward and I completed the flash and started using the phone. I got some unexpected lag and thought i'd revert back to the original firmware but it is this that is causing me a problem.
I attempted the reflash with the O2 firmware (KE7),
I now get the O2 bubbles on start up (which was replaced but a fragmentated S on 2.3.4, official samsung I believe) and in phone settings its says 2.3.3 however when I connect to Kies it says the CSC is XEU and not 02.
I tried the '272' imei trick but only get 1 option XEU.
Can anybody please help me revert my phone back to original???
Here's hoping somebody can help..
Branded rom /provider rom post or how to debrand O2 phone posts from Dev section .
Essentially flash the O2 firmware through Odin

Thanks for the reply. I 'think' i have solved it now. I had flashed it with Odin but only once i had cleared the partition cache did Kies show the right firmware.
It does mean i have lost all of my apps so now am looking at a good backup app.
Any suggestions for a non rooted phone?

You can't backup apps unless your rooted as these live on the root of your phone.
You can root and keep the phone stock and not flash any custom roms.
Im on o2 uk. Had the xeukd1 csc before i switched.
If any of my friends asked me i would tell them to root and install a custom rom and kernel.
The themes and tweaks available are great. The biggest thing for me is the battery life. I now get only 1% battery drain overnight (7 hours) someone else on the same rom and kernel went over 6 days without charge.
Never would have got this before.

Many thanks for the reply.
It certainly sounds very interesting. I am new to rooting only having learnt about the basics of it over the past couple of days.
I presume therefore that should the need ever arise restoring the phone to its original firmware spec (as at time of purchase, and should warranty work be required) is possible?
I think I need to go and read some more on rooting.

Go to intratech's thread in original android development find out what firmware modem and csc you're using download and keep in a safe place. This is then your return to factory settings if you have a warranty issue.
If you need any help pm me as I won't always be popping in to this thread.

Hey guys, I hope this is the right place to post this. Sorry if it isn't!
I was just wondering if there was any way to download a stock from from Tesco? I'm asking this because I recently rooted my phone, only the whole thing buggered up, forcing me to re-flash a stock ROM. The only problem is that the ROM isn't from Tesco, meaning that I've lost Aldiko Premium, and a few other things.
I know this isn't a huge problem but it would still put my mind at rest if I knew everything was as it should be .
Thank you ever so much!

Do you mean its a Tesco branded phone with Tesco firmware/software .
That would be very unusual for Tesco .

Ok, based on your PM it's just a stock unbranded UK device so you can use the XEU firmwares from the firmware thread. Latest is the XWKI4.
I was on Samsung GT-I9100 / I9100XXK14 / 2.635.7-I9100XXK14 before rooting and flashing custom roms. On 2nd flash I lost all sms and call logs (nothing else) while using Titanium Backup Pro. I also had backed up in Kies. But found out I can't restore from Kies becuz it doesn't recognize custom rom. Purchased TB after I lost original XXK14 firmware due to a botched backup on my part. Can anyone help me get back to my XXK14 firmware temorarily so I cans restore sms and call logs?

Hey search the forums lots of helpful threads to use odin to flash back a stock rom.
Heres a link to a specific stock rom, KI4 is in the list.

Saw this link earlier but the XXK14 download link is broken and I'm not knowledgable as to what other stock roms I can use here in the U.S. on AT&T (not sure that carrier is an issue other than the fact ATT is GSM / HSPA+ 21 Mbps). I'd really appreciate directions to an alternate XXK14 link and/or another compatible GB 2.3.5 stock firmware.

I've checked and can't see anything there. Thanks.
Alternatively use Check Fus, Google it.

Here is what you need to do
1. Get Check FUS downloader: LINK
2. Run FUS Select you Carrier / Region / Model and Download the Stock firmware for your phone.
3. Backup anything you need. You will need to wipe the data and the cache from Recovery mode before you flash the downloaded Fware..
4. Use ODIN and Flash the Downloaded Stock Firmware to your phone. You will loose the root access and you should have your stock back. Yeah before Install Wipe data and cache.
Lemme know if that works. If any doubt... just ask. Dont do anything wrong i'll try to help if i know the answer.

Did you try the "firmwares" link??
I have concerns about you flashing your phone if you can't navigate a website... No offense. I'm not trying to be insulting, but it's really easy to find.
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie so please bare with me. I have a Virgin Mobile UK Samsung Galaxy S2 which was on Gingerbread 2.3.4 or 5. I foolishly flashed it yesterday to yes you guessed it, ICS 4.0.3. Now as far as the phone itself is concerned, everything is working pefectly fine. No issues whatsoever except now I've noticed that my carrier has changed to T-Mobile UK even though the phone has full functionality on the Virgin network still? Also I get the "This device cannot download firmware" message now when connected to Kies.
Have I totally ruined my phones chances of downloading any official firmware in the furture now? And how can I correct the display of my carrier? I'm guessing I will have to find a stock ROM from somewhere and re-install. But doesn't that do something to a ROM install counter someware on the phone?
Thank you in advance.

You are fine. Nothing has gone wrong. Use the FUS and get the stock firmware for you phone. Flash it via ODIN... Read the above few posts.
For your Flash counter and Bin counter, You can reset it back to zero. Look for Triangle.apk . TO use that you need to have a rooted device. Super user permissions... so run Triangle while you have rooted device? If not then root it to reset the bin or flash counter ( If you want) or just flash back the stock Fware..
No you havent ruined you phone. You can download all official firmwares. Just wait for the offical ICS for your region.
Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. So just to clarify... If I re-install the stock firmware there will be no need to root the device and install the program that resets the counters?
Also, I've noticed that Virgin Mobile UK isn't listed under my territory?
Thanks again.

From memory the only CSC that has Virgin UK is the CPW one Carphone Warehouse . Flash that or enter network settings manually .

This file contains everything you need to restore your Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830D from Kooodo Mobile to Stock Rom Version
Messed up my phone had a hard time finding the right files so now back up think these will make easier for everyone who needs them.
You can download it from mediafire.com/?768k23chd1nfs25
(The file is not password protected)
I have also include the file use to root phone afterwards in attachements along with ClockWork Mod 5 you do not need these unless your planning install a custom rom.
Wow. Thanks, that's amazing! Been looking for those files for a while, I might be restoring it then trading it in for an upgrade
Probably not though. I like having an extra device for testing purposes
How would one flash this? Its a .rar file not a .zip

It's MULTI-CSC, the koodo rom is within it, when installed, do *#272*Device IMEI# (Do *#06# for your IMEI Before) and choose KDO..It will reboot and reset to factory.
i have tried this and my phone in now locked

I just went on SamMobile, found the download link. However, when trying to download the file, the server fails to download, stating "Bad Gateway".
If somebody do have the file, I'd like to know a way to get it.

Hi guys,
I own a Galaxy S3 and i rooted it a while back to get Open VPN working on it.
Its currently on andriod version 4.0.4 (baseband version : i900XXLE8)
I'm on the o2 network here in Ireland.
I'm trying to upgrade it to jellybeans (4.1.4 i believe) to make use of the allShare Cast with my Samsung Smart TV.
However im not to sure where to begin.
I see alot of post like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1910947
but stuff like this is confusing me "LI3 to LIF", LIF to LIG, etc..
I dont want to loose all my phone stuff like, messages, email, phone numbers, etc.
I've also seen the you recommended titanium backup, i've just download this and backed up "backup all user apps"
So what do i do next?
DarkSlice
You could just use Kies it download the latest version and use Odin.

Why not read the basics first if you dont know the difference between LI3 to LIF" .
Looking at the link you posted spells DANGER you are either in the wrong Forum as this is I9300 or you are looking to flash the firmware for another phone on your phone = big big trouble no phone working .In other words the link is to the Sprint firmware not the I9300 .

just tried this,
"Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies."
Current Firmware version : PDA:LE8 / PHONE:LE8 / CSC:LE8 (KOR)
and im downloading the Ireland : o2 : 4.1.2 version from SamMobile now.
Unless you are in Korea you have the wrong CSC, to update via Kies you will need to use the CSC select app from the play store. If you are in Ireland check the correct CSC (UK is BTU not sure if it would be the same for Ireland.)

Hey bro, update all your stuff with titaniumbackup or an app like sms backup, plus you can contact sync with gmail.
Then find a nice rom you like, flash the newest recovery on there from PhilZ then flash your rom and restore your backups. Done. Shouldnt take very long.
I can recommend this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005845
