[Q] Does anyone know a similar application for "LED Notification" - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My friend just got an LG G2X and he had the same issue of NO LED notifications
He found an App called "Optimus 2x touch LED"
what it does is when you have an email or sms it flashes your "soft-keys" Back lights on your phone.
Unfortunately it does not work on our phone
i would love to see this maybe built into a rom if possible or a similar app from the market.

BLN control, Blinky, or No Led from the market

You just need a kernel that supports BLN. All the custom ones do

Blinky works great once it enabled the BLN!
SO THANK YOU!

[Q] P500 ringtone fade-in problem

Hello everyone.
Is there a way to turn off the fade-in feature when receiving calls? It's really annoying and not even too smooth. I would prefer having my full volume instead. After mik_os's kernel this is the only thing that is bugging me with the phone.
I believe this is software related and can be fixed with messing in certain config files, right?
+1 if someone do some magic to get back the full volume in lg p500

No.. i have used prime rom but its the same with others..
because there is not a solution yet, you can use the application called "Volume Locker" instead. its on the market.
Just set the notification timeout to zero and select the same ringtone. it works but its not the best solution.

I will give it a try, usually i receive miss calls from my friends on group network as my calls are free, due to the fade-in I miss those calls most of the time

Blinky vs BLN

Since we just got BLN back with the mesmerize source kernels, I was wondering how people's experiences were with the BLN app vs Blinky. I've seen a couple posts here and there about them but not really a lot of feedback.
I think you need blinky with free version of BLN to have the blinking function.
The paid version of BLN has that function so no need to install blinky with it.
I just use the free BLN control app. All I use it for is text messages, and I don't really need it to blink. If it is on, then I have a text.
BLN app worked fine. I didnt need blinky. I got the free version of BLN and it does what I need (It lights up when text comes in)
Any side effects using this app?

None. It has been proven that the battery drain is not noticeable. Like < 1%.
I use Blinky cause Pac-Man is pimp! Actually, it was the first one I tried and it works so I kept it!

Meh I was using it for a while but I noticed my backlight would stay on instead of blink like I wanted, so I disabled it.
thanks guys. i tried both separately and i couldn't get the blinking to work with blinky so i deleted both. BLN is still activated even when the apps are gone, just fyi or my phone is a little funky

BLN working with GOSms EX Beta!

For those of you using BLN pro and using the GoSms beta I dropped in IRC recently if you want BLN to work, go into settings and then notifications and general notifications (might be called default notifications, its early and im tired) make sure Blink LED is checked off.. once thats done BLN works properly.. in the case it still does not work after that go into your stock MMS and enable auto retrieve but make sure notifications is unchecked unless you want two whenever you get an SMS or MMS
For those wondering im using Nemesis2all "enderst special" with BLN pro (support the dev)
Hope this works for you all and enjoy

Yup...I'm using it and it's working great for me. I have imnuts' UV kernel though. However, I actually have "Blink LED" turned on. I don't think it made a difference at all...
BLN has been always working with Blinky and GOsms
not for me =/

Can you explain in a little more detail your setup, or post something in the Q & A section?
Haha, sorry I'm not sure why I left such a one-liner comment.. I was using GO SMS and Blinky, on AOSP voodoo but couldn't get BLN to work.. so I read somewhere that BLN control was the way to go.. well now using GO SMS Pro from the market and BLN control on SC 2.9.2 with the comavolt kernel I still can't get it to work D:

LED Notification not working with NoLED?

It looks like the LED notification doesn't work with the NoLED app.
When NoLED is turned on and you get a new notification, it seems like the phone screen is on to flash that notification. Thus, the phone LED indicator doesn't work because it only works when the screen is off.
That's too bad because I'd love to have both notifications instead of having to choose one or the other.
Can anyone else confirm this is the case with their phone too?
FYI, not that it matters but I'm on the TMo SGS3.
Thanks.
Isn't noled used on phones WITHOUT led notifications?

my exact thoughts... I remember it being developed for the G2 if my memory serves me right... which is questionable right now.

Yes of course, but I'm thinking OP just thinks it'd be more convenient if both worked so you didn't miss any important texts/emails. On another note, if this did work it would dramatically decrease your battery life because the NOLED already holds a wakelock and stops the phone from deep sleeping.

Thank you very much for your reply. I didn't have it pre-loaded so I downloaded from the Play Store.

I downloaded the app and tried but it didn't work. LED does not blink for missed calls and text messages. I setup the same way as you describe in your screenshot. I even rebooted. Please help.

Did you scroll down and try the test? Should work if it is installed and the enabled status shows green.
