How reliable is Plants vs Zombies on your Vibrant? Its a hit/miss on mine. Sometimes it works great, smooth even with lots of stuff going on, other times its slow and locks up my phone where I have to do a hard reboot. Then today my saved games were gone...
What file system are you using? I have no troubles in it, i even managed to finish it without hiccups.
Runs like a dream. Except a warning to all - it freezes if the low battery warning pops up at 15%. At least it did for me

Yeah, very smooth, no issues. I've backed it up with ti backup 3x and restored going from rom to rom already, no issues there either.
Where do i find plants vs zombies?
well, when i first downloaded it, i was running Asgard, the 2.3.3 rom from EDT. It wouldnt load up. It froze at the sand time thingy before the PopCap logo. Now I'm on Heathen's Galaxy S 2 clone rom, and it runs fine. Only played 3 levels so far though, so haven't put much gameplay time into it.

If you press hone or press the phone power button, it puts the game into "hibernation" instead of on pause, but it's because of how much the game has to preload into memory. It's no quitting, it's just not instant resume.

I've now lost all progress twice following a hard-reset, both times on Bi-Winning V3 and OC'ed to 1480 mHz... I was also streaming Pandora both times and recieved a notification during gameplay which seems to have casued the freeze-up (I've been OC'ing without issue for months).
Perhaps it's pertaining to EDT's coding? My girlfriend hasn't had any freezing or progress-loss on her stock fascinate.
I hate that you have to signed into Amazon to play it. Sketchy.

even though you've been OCing for months, it most probably is related to your OC. even if you think you are stable, there isn't an app out there that can test the stability of our phone OCs to be sure.
It's running pretty well for me except that I have to redo the level when someone calls me.

I doubt you need to sign in to Amazon to play the game. I have DroidWall blocking internet access to all my games and it still runs pretty well.
If you mean sign in to Amazon to download the game, this has been explained and discussed in other threads.

Well for me whenever I get a text or a call, (I have a SMS popup) the game pauses and whenever I get back to it, it picks up where I left off.
As for signing into Amazon, I think it checks to see if you are signed in on the Amazon App Store app to make sure that it's tied with the right account.

You only need to be signed in the first time you run it. Same with all Amazon apps. I do not have a data plan, use WiFi only, and that is all I ever have to do and have no problems. If you change roms, after you load your backup you need to be signed in the first timer you run it and that's it.

Could be the reason but I wouldn't say probably. If you look at the reviews of this game in the Amazon appstore people are reporting a lot of bugs including lost progress. While it is true that some of the people that report this bug may be overclocking I highly doubt it's all of them. The bottom line is the game has issues (hence the 3 1/2 star rating) and things like this will happen until these issues are addressed in an update.

I have been running it on Heathen's SGSII clone v2 rom with no problem for a few days now. I haven't enabled voodoo or OC'd because when i've had voodoo enabled before, TW4 FC'd a lot and it seemed to run hot. But so far, i've had no problems what so ever with voodoo disabled and no OC.
I dunno if anyone has mentioned this in particular. I did see someone said that if they get a text or a call it goes right back to where they left off. Not for me. I got a call when I was on level 2-1 and when I came back it had to load from the hour glass and then my saved game was gone. LAME!

I'm curious... Do you apply/wanna apply a lag fix because your device is actually lagging or is it just the thing to do nowadays? I ask because I have never found a need for one. The only lag I had on the Vibrant was when I first took it out of the box and even that was kinda tolerable. But as things are right now, I really don't see how my device could get any faster and if it could...why? Quadrant scores? What is the real advantage (if any) to having it? .02¢
Lag fix? Never have, never will!
High quadrant scores. Do you see the first thing most people mention when they install the lag fix?
"My quadrant score went from 200 to 2000!!!!!!!!" as if it was an indicator of actual performance.
No good, controlled tests have been conducted.
I don't use it. The one time I did, when it was included in the kernel with BLN, I had horrible battery life. Most people use it to get higher scores. The N1 would run circles around the Vibrant in terms of scores but when in real world testing, both devices are just as fast.
It's not just scores...
It makes your system a bit faster people nowadays do it without needing to and there's nothing wrong with that.
I run a lagfix and it has improved my speed and response.
Without making me lose any battery

Point taken, but looking at most of the threads in the Q&A section...it seems that the LF's do more harm than good, especially if you aren't too sure about what you're doing.
Lag fix? Never have, never will!
The lag fix circumvents RFS in many areas.
Galaxy S phones have terrible I/O performance. Notably Database Read/Writes and apps that work generally hit the storage often.
Run Touchdown on a Galaxy S phone without a lag fix and you'll see how sluggish that application runs due to RFS. The workaround is to move the database to the external SD Card (which results in frequent corruptions) or install a lag fix.
It also causes the phone to take an inordinate amount of time to boot up (Media Scanning... etc.) and lag randomly when applications sync and access the storage to write data. It lags when Installing and Uninstalling applications from the Android market as well.
If you think a Lag Fix is only to boost Quadrant Scores (those scores are bunk, anyways), then perhaps you're using a different phone in a Vibrant casing.
There are several applications littered with "laggy on my Galaxy S" in the market.
Also, there is a bug in the Samsung Android 2.1 kernel that breaks some applications. That's why there are apps popping up saying you need 2.2 on your Galaxy S phone to run them (Skype, Yahoo Messenger, etc.).
My Vibrant, both before and after JI6, was laggy to the point of not being usable - until I applied RyanZA's OCLF (I removed OCLF and tried voodoo but soft-bricked the phone in the process). I've never run the Quadrant score analysis - all I care about is usability of the phone, and after the OCLF was applied my phone became usable.
I tried Axura 2.0.x with no lag fixes and, while my phone was generally faster than JI6 pre-lag fix, it still suffered from lag in many user interactions (opening apps, launching email, reading individual emails, using gallery, etc.) I went back to stock + JI6 via ODIN, reapplied OCLF, and was happy again.
Are there different hardware revisions of the Vibrant that might account for the differences in user experience? I've seen many posts from users who claim they never had any lag or GPS problems, and many more (like me) who have been plagued with them.
Most of those users are fanboys and wouldn't admit it even if they fot one of those 5+ second lockups while making their post.

It's cause the phone is laggy. I don't usr lag fixes because I don't lile tampering with phones at the system level, regardless, but I have freezes several times a day and have even had my phone completely lock up on me a couple of times - requiring a battery pull.
The less services you have running, and the less apps that sync data runnimg, the less the lag is. The lag happens mostly when the storagr is used (background syncing can cause it, for example).
Yes, people with no twit/fb/reader apps/accounts setup, among other things may be totally fine depending on their usage.

It has made some apps actually usable.
Before the lag fix, the facebook app was basically unusable for me. Any action would have a 5-10 second pause before seeing a result.
Swipe to scroll, wait, click a picture, wait.
I think the facebook app was the worse for me because I did manual updates so every time I launched the app, it would be d/ling and writing while I was trying to scroll around and read stuff.
But in general, it has made my phone usable. Before I did the lag fix, I basically stopped using my phone because it got so annoying having to wait.
I've never run quadrant on my phone actually. I don't even really use root for anything. I did it primarily for the lag fix and the I changed my battery bar so that it's accurate. Everything else I'm happy with.
So, could this just be an issue that only certain phones have? Or, could some of it be mental? Like, if you hear enough ppl say that this is broken or that isn't working...you start to think that yours is broken also? I've never had an issue with gps...and I use foursquare and navigation on a regular basis. But everybody else seems to have broken gps.

I have 2 email account, syncmypix, weather apps & news updating every hour and i have never had any lag problems, even running on JI2 stock, much less ever had phone freezes. The ONLY time I had phone freezing was messing with those OC kernels, which I promptly uninstalled.
Let me ask people that run lag fixes this, when playing with the Vibrant at the t-mobile store, why did you choose buy it if you were experiencing this "lag", especially when it was running stock firmware?
edit: I also ran JFS lag fix for a day, but that drained my battery faster than a fat kid ate cake. It was not even noticeably faster either.

Its not mental its on every phone. Unless lagfixed/hacked u have the same fileaystem as us.
The home switchers and unofficial roms are morw mental due to placebo effect - some lag fixes aren't even that good, but people claim tenfold improvements due to placebo effect...

The phone T the store wasn't syncing a google and corp accoumt, plus facebook, plus twitter, and other apps. It simply wadn't prone to lagging, brcausr no user in their righy mind sets their **** up on a display unit just to test it.
Btw, "why didn't you test it for 10 min before you bought it" is getting old.
Their were no other good phones in t-mo when many of us broughy yhis. Couldn't just swap for a g2, mt4g, or hd7.
Many people thought an update would fix it, like the gps.

I've done it on pretty much every phone I've owned, but like I said its not really nessicary, if anything its a slight stutter, but either way its not different than other android phones I've used (even my vibrant using a lag fix). its really just my preference to sync manually.
I wanna know if anyone else has this issue or not when click an app like a game it takes up to 10 seconds for it to run and after exiting sometimes the main screen is very delayed and sometimes unresponsive when scrolling left and right. I also have an issue of the phone not wanting to switch back to 4g if in 3g or 1x just stuck until I reboot or restart it. Wanna know if I should get this one replaced or not. Also GPS is horrible never accurate. It say in running little kids on the sidewalk over constantly or running threw people house. I have factory data restored it but same problem. Need to know if I need new one?

It does happen. Try a different kernel or over clocking.
this happens to me occasionally, usually only when the battery is hot/doing a LOT of things at once. (meaning when i'm charging and using pandora over bluetooth, wireless tether, and waze at once) the phone lags up so much that when i press the home button, the haptic vibrate stays on for about 3 seconds.... this is when i know that its happening - and i'll just pull the battery...
If you're running stock & it's been like that since day one, you might consider exchanging it. If you're running a custom rom/kernel, reflash & leave it at default settings for a few days & see if the problems resolve

I've never had the lag issue you speak of, however, the gps issue I have seen, but has been fixed in recent custom roms and will be addressed in the update. If you are on stock, you might want to just wait it out for 9 more days till the OTA rolls out. If you are using a custom rom/kernel combo, what are you using?

I also forgot to mention that i'm on BAMF 1.8 with the kernel that it comes with.
If your rooted, i'd recommend unchecking your "set at boot" and profiles in SetCPU, reboot, and see if it continues. As said above, if unrooted... a call to verizon may be in order.
My phone is not rooted every phone I have rooted besides like 2 I have bricked. But yeah I don't get why they didn't run this stupid phone a dule core. I got to play with a phone that had a dule core and response is so amazing.
Then you should take it back to verizon & exchange it for another. Your Tbolt shouldn't be like that out of the box. I've never had GPS issues, even on stock it would lock within a few seconds. And dual core is overrated unless you have apps that actually take advantage of it (not many). No wonder you were impressed with dual core phones lol. My mildly overclocked Tbolt runs Sense just as fluidly as any Atrix runs MotoBlur

Has anyone tried calling Verizon about these issues? If so, what did they do about it?
They shouldn't be giving out the same phone, when the problem isn't hardware, it's software, and all the phones they send out will have the same software which won't make any difference.

..........what issues
The slowness, the crashing, etc.
I'm on #6 from Verizon's "certified like new" replacement program. I've told them every time it is defective hardware that the device is shipped with and there's no way they can physically "repair" it. They say that they cannot do anything about it but ship me another "certified like new" replacement phone of the same model.

i have never had my phone crash on me or random reboot.
slowness is relative, for the most part the supercharger script fixed the issues I had, but yes we need 2.3 to fully take advantage of both cores
Device1: Issues with 3g and wifi
Device2: Hardware screen problems
Device3: Would no activate, randomly shut off while trying to activate. Activated via website, couldn't make calls.
Device4: Receives multiple SMS messages and a pixel is out on the screen (after 1 week use)
Device5: Same problem as device 3.
Awaiting device 6. I haven't had the best of luck with the DroidX2. I'm really wanting to take advantage of the dual core greatness when GB finally hits, but I'm very very tempted to switch over to an Inc2.
Opinions?

Am I the only one who hasn't had any real problems yet? I did only get it 2 weeks ago, but so far the worse that has happened was 1 random reboot which seemed to resend an old text to my friend. Since then though no issues. Especially since rooting it.
I tried calling them and they said if I have the problem again, they will do their best to get me into a different device, although this phone was a replacement for my Fascinate so I'm highly doubtful they will do much about it.

This is a pretty crappy phone out of the box. It took the v6 script to make it bearable. Would be nice if Motorola did it out of the box. I felt like I was using my old G1 for a while instead of a dual core phone.
Out of the box I had so many problems it wasn't even funny. I had reboots, crashes, force quits like mad... all of it related to motoblur (I'm almost certain of that). Before the full hour of ownership passed, I had finalized my research, rooted, scripted, froze, and replaced every component I could safely. Since then I haven't seen any problems. My battery lasts for about three days and barely even gets down to 60%. Three weeks into ownership, not one hiccup since the zero hour.
So, before I did anything with the phone... it sucked out of the box... and it always will until Motorola pulls their head out of their asses.

Cuz they already have our money... so its technically our own fault because we keep giving Motorola another chance and keep buying these phones.... and why bash the dinc2 ? It already has s-off so they are running custom roms as we speak. I will never buy another motorola product espicially after what they just pulled with the Droid 3.
I'm running 1.4.2 stock rooted.
When I'm playing Dead trigger, I notice that it it runs great on high, until I get to a part in the level where water is dripping from the ceiling.
I tested it on my phone, and noticed that water droplets are supposed to show up on the screen, but for some reason the Nook freezes whenever this is supposed to happen.
Anyone else notice or having this problem?

Yup same here. And I'm running CM7 with both cores running on performance . I even Googled it to no avail. It seems no other devices seem to have this problem.
Tried several things like even shutting down some system apps to increase ram but with no success.
Same with me
Also with me it seems i have this problem. I just make sure the level im going to dosent have any water lol. Also in the 1.1 update, it seems that dying dosent work also. it just crashes when i die.
You know i tested this game on a cm9 rom with hardware acceleration, and the water worked? im guessing once they release cm9 we wont have to worry about the water crashes. i also heard this was a glsl issue.
Just downloaded the game and mine is constantly turning to the right, it make the game almost unplayable
Does anyone else have this problem

Nope.... I but why don't you try force closing the app then clearing the cache and relaunching?
I shot an email to the developers about the issue...hopefully I'll hear something back. Its a shame tho, I did the mod to enable the ultra high tegra 3 graphics and it runs amazing....until I see water dripping lol

Got a response back from Madfingergames.....
"Unfortunately we do not have that device here so we are unable to test it."

On paper this is the best galaxy s ever, we all know that, but I have had this phone for 2 weeks now, and I have had the worst android experience on any phone, I had owned every phone on the galaxy s line since the beginning.
I haven't seen any phone with more lags or software flaws than this one.
To begin, the wakeup lag, sometimes more than 10 secs for the phone to wakeup.
The sd card read/write lag, I change my sd card to a Samsung top notch one, and the lag is still noticeable.
Memory issues, I recreates thisnissues in may ways, open up a game (plants vs zombies 2) play for a couple of mins, lock the phone, and see if you can weke it up.
I noticed a bit more smotthnes after the updatw but still the performance on this phone is just awful.
I hope this is an isolated issue, but I have seen a lot of people complaining about the lag as well.

Forgot to add the connection issues, I use the subway a lot, I have to put the phone in airplane mode and off to get reception back after getting off the subway, otherwise it will not refresh the connection by itself.

Me too. I can't tell you how many problems I've had with this phone. That's just one of the many.
I don't have any of these problems. Maybe its crapware your carrier loaded that's restricting it?

Yes, it might be a "T-Mobile" version problem, I am pretty sure this are software related problems, I would like to see it running on a vanilla version of android, it has to be TouchWiz messing it up, but anyway, this had to be thoroughly tested before releasing it to the public, shame on T-Mobile/Samsung, hope a fix is on the way.

Try using the international stock roms. On the S4, those were MUCH better that the US version roms. I know it requires rooting, but you'll probably be happier and it doesn't really matter if you're outside your return period anyway.
I don't have any of those problems either.

Great phone, no issues, where did you buy yur phones?
I've had the phone for a while now and it hasn't lagged once, the fingerprint scanner works over 90% of the time, and signal is good as well. Yeah, the HR monitor is a total gimmick, but to say this phone is "the worst galaxy" is a bit extreme.
So either I got extremely lucky and got 2 phones without any problems, or some people are getting unlucky with their purchase.

I have a feeling most of it is a T-mobile problem. However, I have a friend on another carrier (I think it's Verizon) and he hates his as well. Tons of problems.
i got no problem with mine S5, just love it.
I have the mysterious lag screen problem on wake!

Sometimes, no matter what I've tried, I'll be using the phone and let the screen turn off, When I push the home button, nothing, the phone is still running but I can't see anything, I try to use the power button and again nothing, I have to pull the battery and restart the phone to get it working. There is a group of people that are experiencing the problem and at first people thought it may be SD card related but it is not conclusive at this point. It will work fine sometimes for days, then all of a sudden pull the above mentioned crap.
Exactly, onlast Sunday every time I locked the screen it would never wakeup, I had to remove the battery like 3 times, it has been OK for the las 2 days though, but this is frustrating, I mean, I haven't even rooted the phone yet, I read that 4.4.3 is on its way, hope that addresses these performance issues.

Yes I agree this phone is very laggy specially the camera they send me a "new" phone and the problem still there, also i usually charge it at night
and this morning the screen was on the boot screen logo i had to remove the battery it sucks
So, I keep researching the reasons of why some of us have this issues, today I went to the "t-mobile my account" app, went to options and deselected all the options (ALL OF THEM), and I notice the fun is a lot smoother, probably the placebo effect, but I will keep trying for a couple of days, if you guys want give it a try.
No issues here, touch wood, using T-Mobile phone on AT&T network.

I've only had the phone for about a week but it's amazing so far, I upgraded from a S2. I play Ingress constantly and lately I've been able to play for 4+ hours at a time before needing to recharge and that's just on the stock battery. I removed all the bloatware I could and turned most everything off just to try and squeeze out every little bit of battery life. The only thing bugging me about the phone so far is that root would void my warranty and I'm a little upset about that but meh, it's not like I ever needed it I'm just a little worried because the phone is so new. I might just wait until the 12 months is up and root the phone then. So far I don't really have a reason to need root but I'm sure that desire will gain in traction as new tools for the device get released. I'm mostly thinking about mods like Cyagenmod, that will be one of the reasons I root and break Knox if I do before the warranty.
