just tried setCPU on my phone and Im wondering if all the settings/scaling changes will be gone after a reboot if I dont tick the "Set on Boot" option..
basically I want to undo all the changes that setCPU made before uninstalling it because some apps leave the changes even if uninstalled.
thanks guys.
Reinstalling the app is a quick way to do it. Or you can press menu and select "help." I think...I would just reinstall, it would be very quick

guys where can i find the setting for the menu botton? i accidentally checked the "apply always" option. i want to revert it back where when you click it once it will pick options for what desktop application you will choose.
thanks guys.
Try settings, applications, manage applications, find the app you chose to always apply, click on it and then click clear defaults.

thanks for the reply
the "always apply" app the i accidentally click was "home".
there is no home in the "application" settings.
then you can try to install another launcher like launcherpro or adw(vice versa) change it then you can uninstall the third launcher afterwards
Running Evil Fascinate 3.6.
The idea of screen capture is kinda cool, but for me it's a nuisance I don't use intentionally. The times I accidently do it, it messes me up in the middle of something. How can I disable it? I want to make sure it won't screw up the camera or anything.

use titanium backup, go to backup/restore, scroll down to screencaptureservice (in red text), press and choose freeze. This disables it without uninstalling it.

I thought about that, but just wanted to make sure that's how to do it. Thanks!

Is there any way to remove the persistent Google search bar?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
you can either go to system settings>applications and disable google search, or go to the themes and applications section of the forum and pick up Trebuchet Launcher which has the option to remove the bar and even more good stuff

thanks for ur reply.... i tried to install trebuchet but it doesnt give me launcher settings when i hit the menu key on the home screen. any further assitance would be appreciated. thanks
in trebuchet settings you can uncheck "enable persistent searchbar"
first you have to make trebuchet your default launcher

I downloaded it and flashed it via CWM but dont have any launcher settings
How do i make it my default launcher?
go to settings>applications and under all applications you should see both launchers. Disable the stock launcher defaults. Then when you go to use your phone the system will prompt you to pick which launcher to use/ make default

Thanks for all ur help and all. But when I go to all applications I don't see both launchers. I installed trebuchet thru CWM. It says it installed successfully. Any more help would be appreciated

Usually after i install launcher, when I press home button it ask for default launcher.
But try going to all applications again and clearing defaults for your current Launcher.
I'm sorry to be asking such a basic question but I can't figure it out.
I've reflashed to 4.1.2 today, and was messing about with settings. Now when I press to change default ringtone/notification it takes me too es file explorer. How can I change this so it takes me back to standard list?
Thanks in advance

Go to menu, settings, applications, all applications. And find ES file explorer and clear defaults.
If this doesn't work then you need to find the app that you set to default. I think its android system.
Again clear defaults.
This problem arises when you set an app as the default program to be run when you want to run a certain protocol or set something.
So for instance, if you have two web browsers installed and then you open a link, the system asks you do you want to set one as default always and you choose one and set it, then every time you open another link, that browser would be used from then onwards.
All you have to do is fine the app within applications and remove the defaults .
Hope this helps

Running mk2. Constantly getting the same pop up window asking what app I should use to open links, email, etc... even though I keep selecting "always" for a given app. Tried resetting app defaults,
cache, and even factory reset. The default app selection is never remembered.
I had an app I installed that caused that to happen. Do you remember what you installed right before it started? If so, remove that app and try again and see what happens.
