[Q] How do I bypass Activation screen permenently - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to permanently disable the activation screen?
I have a Facinate that I just want to use WiFi ... no phone, no 3g... no activation.
I know I can dial *#83786633... but I do not want to do this every time I reboot the phone.

I guess this is a dead question really for me ... if you install a custom ROM it fixes what I need.
It would be nice to know how to do this with a stock ROM if anyone has an answer that might help someone else.

it would involve removing/freezing SetupWizard.apk, which requires root.

Just create another gmail account and never check it.
good day.

Changing GMAIL account to android?

Is there a way to change my email?
I just created my new gmail, i thought my old one was a bit too... childish name... so anyways How would I remove the other one and add this new one
Obviously you can odin and then reflash to CM7 and add a new account, but Is there a way to just do it without odin?
Go to Settings/Account and sync; there is an option to add a new account.

but can i completely remove the other one after adding the new one?
edit: added my new accoyunt but cannot remove the original
tells me i have to reset phone to factory default.
ANY other way?
sorry dude, as far as i know you have to reflash.
why not just use both?
I have 3.
Set your old one to only sync gmail (assuming people are still emailing it).
I imagine all your paid apps are tied to it also.
Only way: reset phone to factory default.
Remember backup first.

I'm an organized guy, i really don't like having things i'll never use.
Thanks guys, I odin'd haven't used odin in over 3 months thanks to CM7 haha.
time to root, and then install clockwork recovery and flash cm7 *sigh*
^ if you use my guide, you probably don't need to since you've been here, I'd be curious how it flows for you.
also, having multiple gmail accounts does not hinder organization, at all. I know because I am crazy A-type.

Why would you Odin? In cwm, wipe data/factory reset will get you to where you need to be.

aFirewall weird new permission

Latest aFirewall (call blocking software) update has 2 new permissions, one of them I can understand since its related to app purpose:
INTERCEPT OUTGOING CALLS
Allows the app to process outgoing calls and change the number to be dialed. Malicious apps may monitor, redirect, or prevent outgoing calls.
But there's a second permission that I dont see its purpose:
RETRIEVE RUNNING APPS
Allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. Malicious apps may discover private information about other apps.
What's in this version:
3.6.0:
1. Update application icon;
2. Add running info display and shortcut;
3. Fix two FCs;

Anyone knows if this permission is really necessary?
Thank you
Look at number 2

-.-
I can see that, but what does this do? Why does a call blocking app needs this?
To identify malicious apps running in the background, I assume?
It used to identify if BackupToEmail is installed in your phone. Thanks.

Shouldn't need any special permission to determine if a specific package is installed.

Thats alot of work.... no offense dude but thats overkill for what @toonhead85 is asking for.
Heres the milk uninstaller and the Nike+ running uninstaller
This is assuming you used my root method and have sdb sitting at C:\sdb
First of all you have to root your device and then download an app called BloatFree from the Google Play Store. And then you can start deleting your bloatware. Hope this helps!

that isnt relevant to the what the OP asked for, he needs to remove the stock apps from the Tizen watch , not an android device.

cipherswitch, you wouldn't happen to have a handy script to remove the News Briefing app would you. Yes, I'm rooted via your method. Thanks.

Finding Package IDs
Hi,
Thanks for all the work on the Gear S, especially the rooting guide.
Is there an easy way to find out the package IDs of the stock apps? I would like to remove a couple by replacing the package IDs in the batch script you posted for the Nike Uninstaller but can't find the IDs I need.
Thanks
M

Question Is this app risky?

Hi all..just wanted to check if this app is shady or not? https://tmwhatsapp.net/
I wouldn't trust it but that's just me.

I can barely stomach giving access to all my personal info to Meta. But at least it's encrypted, audited and somewhat bound by law.
Giving the same access to some random dev would be something I personally wouldn't do. His intentions may be good, but the reverse could be true as well.
Would you be comfortable using a "modded" banking app (say TM HDFC or TM ICICI)? Treat this app the same way and go with whatever your answer to that question is.
My Frank opinion: Avoid using the app.
You are absolutely right and it was stupid of me asking about it here. There was some chat about the app online that piqued my interest hence the question. A YouTuber even talked about such a modded app online....Anyways... thanks for the opinion
I use WhatsApp plus since 7 years without any problem but I highly recommend using

naaah...i dropped the idea...it's risky enough for Meta to have my personal data...I can't even imagine what would happen if I start using a modded snooping app!
I use AeroWA for secondary number

The app may not necessarily have viruses in them but their code may be so borked that the app in itself will be malicious.
