hey folks,
Anybody knows if there is any relation between baseband and the batterylife?, because i've read in some threads that there are people with a full charge has a few days of use. My performance is only 15 hours in a medium-heavy use.

well i do think its about baseband that you can get a good battery life but there is also one other thing what rom are you running and what is toggled on for example : wifi, sync, background data, 2/3g/,mobile data. i can get about 6hours of music and about 4 more hours of medium use like checking notifications on facebook and going on zedge plus checking xda and i end up whit 15% which isnt so bad my settings are : 2/3g off ,mobile data off, sync off, background data off and wifi on im on baseband .67 and on wolfbreaks rom i calibrated my battery

thanks for your aswer, if the stuffs are how you say, my batterylife isnt too bad, because, in that order of ideas, I running all sync program constantly, web, call, whatsup and more programs always on and everthing with 3G.

Your usage sounds a lot like mine, so I can safely tell that
15 hours is pretty good. If you switch off the mobile data and sync
during the night, perhaps you'll get 24 hours.
But all in all, smartphones are meant to be over-used!

Hi, today I woke up and noticed that overnight (7 hours) my battery dropped from 99% to 47%. I looked in better battery stats and I noticed that my phone was running at 900CPU all the time. I really have no idea how can that be happening, until today everything was fine and I haven't installed any new app. I am running Omega 29 with Phenomenal normal kernel. Would full wipe and reinstalling ROM help?
Thanks

Check your battery stats and see what it was doing, could be anything from Apps running in background (Sync, GPS...)
If there is an app there that drained it, you don't need to get rid of it, put your phone into Power Saving or download a 3rd Party app called Juice Defender. That will stop it. Also if you don't want to do that, you can just Force Close the App that used your battery at night and leave it at that.
Oddly tested mine overnight wifi and gps off 150 apps .
12 hours 2 % drain and that's the usual .

I checked all of that, but like I said, only thing I noticed was that phone was running at 900CPU all the time, and I don't know why.

Since it's Omega go into S Tweaks Scroll down the bottom to CPU Scaling and select one of the others on the Drop Down Menu, (pegasusq) try the others. Hopefully that will do the trick. Do not underclock the device under 800 as it will c*ck up the phone.

Isn't that for Siyah Kernel only?
I'm having similar issues of battery drain on Omega V29 and Siyah Kernel but its mainly when the screen is on, my current cpu scaling profile is set to 'lulzactive'. Could this be the cause of my drain?

If in doubt Recovery Mode. Wipe data/cache then Calvin and fix permissions. Then flash Rom again. Check each app you download their permissions and comments
Check one of the multiple threads about battery drain
Hi all ,
I have a brand new mini pro, brought a week ago, and i'm experiencing a battery issue.
I really like it, but the battery runs out in the afternoon.
I've tried to change every kind of rom and kernel, and i changed the battery too.
No improvements.
Please tell me if this stats are good.
I am afraid my phone may be broken.
Thanks

Looking at awake and screen on stats I'd say it's normal. U gave it a heavy beating by the looks of it, or probably some rogue apps making it awake most of the time. But i doubt it's a rogue app because the awake and screen on graph matches each other so it prove u use the phone.
Unstable data traffic may draining battery. Also wifi, sync stuff, gps, n brightness. Check it out.
And u can use some tweak too.

Stay in 2G , u have the same problem like me poor signal 3G/H i don`t now why but the phone realy has poor signal problem compared with other . Better battery u can get if u disable the data (in service they say to disabel but it is a smartphone why to buy smartphone without data?) and disable facebook autosync .
Thanks for reply.
I need data, so i can't disable, but when i am at home, i use wifi instead of data to save battery.
Auto sync is off, facebook is neither installed, brightness less than 50%.
And i don't have background apps running.
Should i use 2g instead of 3g as someone said?

Sure. If u use 3g and you're in a country with poor signal quality your battery will drain faster.
In Italy we have this kind of situations with many operator so we use 2g and when we need faster data (youtube or browser) switch to 3g network
R it may be a hardware problem if none of the above r working take it to sony...it maybe a hardware prob
It not hardware my minipro was compared with Samsung S plus , Gio, Moto Defy , Iphone 3g all with the same stok rom and with same aplications (whatsapp , yahoo , facebook) on 3g (H) and minipro it was very unstable most of time he stay in 2g and other phones stay 3g all the time , the grafic in battery stats say that ...well on other phone don`t have this problem for exemple my Defy and Iphone in elevator have 3g but mini pro have 2 line on 2g an if it was in call it disconecting , the phone was in service 3 times more than a month for test but nothing ....this is the phone .... after 4 months of using i sellit to buy HTC status and my battery last 1 day with facebook yahoo whatsapp a little browsing and sync so this is a smartphone not sony who tell my to stop data ...hello it is a smartphone it depending by internet connection i need that mail sync ...i need browsing ...i need chat why to trow with 190e for a smartphone if u can using ...?

Hi everyone ! I'm on Omega v35 (Samsung) Rom and 3.0.36-Perseus-alpha29 Kernel. And I have these connected accounts: Dropbox, Facebook, Google, Microsoft Exchange and WhatsApp.
When WiFi is on I loose about 2.2% per hour. (Google Now is disabled, GPS off, Data off, CPU almost all time in Deep Sleep)
When I turned off WiFi I've been loosing 0.8% per hour (other settings remained same).
So my question is, is this normal battery drain ?
In BBS I've noticed that my most active Wakelock is: AlarmManager (Android System) and Kernel WakeLock: Battery-monitor
I've also attached BBS Dump file.
Thanks for your answers
2.2% is not that bad yet. Wifi uses lots of power, especially on some routers that (it seems) do not allow throttling of transmission speed during sleep or that are far away.
Especially considering that you have 2 out of the "bad 3" installed (which are: Facebook, Skype, Whatsapp) when it comes to battery drain it's not very surprising that the AlarmManager (responsible for waking up your phone when there's stuff to do) has a high count.
Battery-monitor is the stats itself. As long as it runs it obviously needs to periodically collect data.
I guess it won't be possible to root the phone and give another BBS stats? Those are far better and if using Siyah more detailed.
Also, please include a screenshot of Android's own battery graph (in full-screen,not the one with the apps beneath) since that shows the wakelock distribution
Thanks for your answer, the phone is rooted, but I forgot to enable rooted options in BBS. So I'll leave it for the night and then post BBS stats and screenshot.
Maybe this question is little off topic but you've mentioned Siyah, I've flashed Siyah but when I entered Recovery there still was CWM recovery (which was odd because I had Galaxy S2 and after flashing Siyah I had Siyah recovery) so I've wiped everything flashed again but nothing changed, I've checked in System info under kernel and it showed that Siyah was installed and I could run STweaks normally.
Is this normal ?

Maybe try other modems?
I'm running Omega v35 and Perseus 27a and I've noticed worse signal/higher drain compared to v34. I flashed BUELK1 modem (AFAIK it's the one from XXELKC, Omega v34) and I'm loosing about 0,5% per hour again (wifi, data etc).
Although I'm not using any auto sync, my GPU/CPU is UV'd and I have some apps frozen in Titanium

Does anyone have tried perseus 29.2 with omega v35. I wonder how battery performs with them.
So I've left it overnight again (same settings as in OP).

First thing I noticed that your wifi is on all the time.
Let it turn off once your screen is off.
Settings > Wifi > Advanced and select wifi on while sleep, never.
If I do that will WiFi be reconected from time to time to receive notifications from gmail, whatsapp etc. ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Use DS Battery. It turns off wifi when screen is off but will let it connect every designated period to let your phone sync. I get about 20% drain overnight over 8hours. I UVed all my clocks so I'd say yours is pretty good.

No, it turn off your wifi if your screen is off for some time. I am not quite sure, what's the default value is.
After wifi is off, device use mobile data to receive notifications. Also, you should disable auto sync because that's also major battery drainer.
I get 5-6% battery overnnight.
I know this might sound odd to some of you, but i was doing some heavy use on my phone, and i noticed somethings that happen most of the time but not always, and here they are:
_when playing music via LG's music player, the music stops (sometimes) when hitting power button in order to lock the screen.
_Tapping on youtube and playstore links on the stock browser (modified by LG) takes you always to the mobile site for youtube and not to the youtube app. the same thing with playstore links, it doesn't ask yo if you want to open it in playstore app, but it takes you to the website. i know all about the default actions but believe me, i know what i'm saying. because this doesn't happen using Chrome.
I noticed, that when i'm using google now's voice actions, it doesn't give voice feedback. (even when i set it to us english)

Did not noticed both. Both work perfect. See if there are any default program settings and correct it.
The only problem I noticed is , it takes media scan after each file operation I do. Sometimes it does after boot.

It s not the problem. In ics wifi in standby drain 0-1% battery for many hours, with jb wifi drain too much battery in standby, completely bad.

Agreed if you say "bad" but disagree if you say "completely bad". Actually companies dont release roms if they are bad.
Try to do some investigation and find the reason for drain when wifi is on.
I must have 4 Gmail accounts setup with Auto sync. Every 10/20 minutes I get notification sound saying "I've got mail" on "WiFi" which is "ON" all the time in office and home (total 8+ hours)). But I did not notice the drastic drop in battery level. I still get 24 hours in around 60-70% juice.
Like zanakorus33 said you must check which "unknown" and "unwanted" apps are squeezing too much juice from battery while WiFi is on and disable them.
In fact "WIFI" does not drain your battery. Its various app, which get activated when WiFi gets on and try to connect internet for syncing.
PS: Just flashed P765 CIS JB rom and experimenting, else I would post some screenshot too, which I always do.
R: BUGS in Jelly Bean (P760-V20B)
You can think what you want, it's not my problem. Please dont say things about app, drain app, app that draining etc. etc.. i know this stuff very well.
I say this:
with SAME APPS, SAME APPS, FEW APPS with ICS i can do 1 day and half, with JB not.
JB drain battery more than ics, in particualr when wifi is on.
In standby with wifi on in ics.. ... i have already explain in previous post...

The battery drain when using wifi on standy also happens to me.
I kept my phone turned on during the night, at the beginning it had 55% left, the next morning it only had 15%

At night, I prefer to automatically shut off all radio (wifi, datasync, bt, gps, etc and silent mode), with smart profiles free, except Phone network. Calls and incoming sms still working. Before I wake up in morning all gets started automatically.
I think I dont need wifi, datasync, etc, while I need to sleep. And also have habit to manually start and stop wifi when I need it or not. Maybe this saves some battery for me. In office, wifi mostly on. Everyone have their own ways and preferences, hence different results.
Picture quality has reduced after upgrading to Jelly Bean. I've checked all the camera settings but still pictures a little washed out. Pictures looked better on ICS rom.
Is it me or anyone else also have this problem?

As others have said battery life is slightly worse on JB. For me with 3G and syncing on I could make three before going down to 5% battery (about 33% percent per day), now I have 50% per day. Of course it's highly dependent on usage, talk time, etc.
I have anoying thing on JB P760 V20C.
When I switch off airplane mode and Wi-Fi tries to connect to my home network, some window popups for a fraction of second, like my home net is not available and JB asking me to choose other net (of course the window disappears so fast that I can't really tell if it is really what I suspect).
The same scenario worked flawless on ICS (no popup window).
Dear Members :
This My first topic here i used just to read and download roms mods .... but really i was wondering if one day i post anything and that day come now i wanted to know what is the best Kernel For Cm10.1 Because I Use the Official Kernel That Percy Post In His rom and i really had issue with battery drains i need to charge my phone every night even i dont use wifi or data a lot just the Radio ... screen is only 32% i Desactivate the Auto Brightness I set my phone in airplane mode more then 10 hours and it still nothing made my battery better i also use battery calibration ....
I have never tried CM mods but I've tried several kernel and can't tell I've seen any difference regarding battery drain that resulted just from using custom kernel.
I'm currently on stock JB kernel and ROM with a fiew tweaks, greenify, bloatware removal, and stamina mode on.
The stats for today: time on battery 14:37, screen on an hour, battery level 78%, wifi on, viber yahoo messenger and facebook in background.
CM10.1 which version? Try to use latest nightly version.
