Just reflash the rom that has that kernel in it, it will write over the kernel you flashed.

Haha don't worry about it, I stayed posted in the Off-topic, that's why I have such a high post count.

kernel flash
Kernels can be flashed over your existing kernel. Its procedure is same as rom flashing but make sure your new kernel is compatible with your rom. But who cares, just flash it after wiping cache and dalvik. Its betters if you have fallback point,so you must nandroid backup your current rom/kernel combination. Clockworkmod recovery 3.1.0.0 is your best starting point if you don't like typing in terminal.
Yeah flash the rom once again. Dats it.

So I'm really new to custom ROMs and recoveries, and I have a few questions. I already flashed ClockworkMod, but if I want to get rid of it, is deleting the update.zip all I have to do? And if I were to make a backup and then flash a custom ROM, but decided to go back to my recovery, it would be exactly like it was before flashing the custom ROM, correct? I think that's about it, thanks for taking the time to read and answer.
First flash the correct kernel (2.1 or 2.2 ) of the one used for your backup. Then restore. Then delete update.zip
After that it will be how you had it

I think in this case doing you would also need to reset the phone and do a cache wipe as well then reboot and it would see as stock
So how would I get my hands on the stock kernel and flash it?

Can anyone do the Amon RA for Vibrant??? My bro have the evo 4g and he told me is better than Tom manager...
its a great recovery, but rom manager does everything we need, and does it well.
hit up amon on twitter, but I doubt he will do it.....
What's wrong with Clockwork?
It's because I don't know how to delete a kernel with the clockworkmod and mybro told me he can do it with amonra... you know how to do it without use Odin to revert to stock the phone???

+1,
just flash a new kernel on top using SGS kernel flasher, its super easy.
Also, SGS Kernel Flasher can do a backup of current kernel, in case you want to go back after flashing a new one!
Amon_Ra is great (my N1) but CWMR is an awesome recovery...no need to go trying to fix what isn't broken.
I know that, I just want to delete it without flash another one...

That's what you're supposed to do...or use sgs kernel flasher and backup the current before you flash...
you're confused man...what rom are you on?
Recovery is part of the kernel from what I remember. There isn't a seperate partition for it. Delete kernel u delete recovery. CWMR boots off SD if I'm not mistaken. I forget these things after 2days of parties XP

well, i want to install the unity v9 kernel on my rooted phone running virtuous unity. in case something goes wrong with this kernel, i want to be able to remove it. but since you say you can only change it, how can i revert back (or change) to the kernel i had previously on my rom?
Make a nandroid backup so if you want to revert to your previous setup just restore the backup. You could also download the original kernel that came with your rom so you can flash back.

What are you wanting to adjust? The only way to adjust a kernel is ti do it when its compiled from source code.
You cant remove a Kernel. You can ONLY change it.
Make a nandroid backup of your current kernel and flash a new kernel. If anything goes wrong just revert it.

If i remove my kernel how work my arc s ?
Flashing the rom over itself (without wiping data) will keep your user apps intact and restore the kernel that came with the rom.
In the future it's a good idea to do a backup any time you flash a new rom or kernel. You can always delete old backups to save space.

Take the ROM you originally downloaded and use 7zip to extract the contents. Inside here you should find the kernel (boot.img) but not always in .img format so if you don't see it let me know.
Then use fastboot to flash this kernel to your phone, more info on that here

Sure if there is a recovery flashable .zip out there, you'll have to search for one or create your own. If you search my other threads i have one on creating flashable .zips but it will be more work than just flashing in fastboot.

6.before flashing a recovery zip or cwm from rom manger what precautions should i take?
7.In rom manager if i say install recovery.. it shows p500 and p500(oldbb) so if i flash old bb now and then upgrade.. will it work?
8. if flash the one without (oldbb) will my phone get bricked..?

There is definitely a risk, and you have to follow the instructions clearly to avoid any risks. To be honest here, I bricked my phone thrice (yes! 3 times) using kdz updater. That's why I'd suggest that you don't upgrade to new bb using kdz updater

EDIT: Just clarify me what rom n recovery are u using...!?? What android version and baseband shows on ur phone....

No problem. I chose flux because it is more of a lighter kernel that gets me better battery life. However, siyah kernal allows dual booting, which is nice to do with a touchwiz based Sammy rom to have a bit of variety.
If you want to flash the fluxx kernel, just flash it in cwm and reboot. Xx tweakers is already installed.

I dont think i'll be flashing the fluxi kernel, I am getting fantastic battery life on the siyah kernel which came with this Rom. Its only been 24 hrs, will know more in a couple of days.
I had a question about the modem. Are you using the stock modem with this or did you flash the LD4 or LE5? I think LD4 was giving me better data speeds on the previous Rom. I havent tried LE5 yet. I'm based in India but we use the same 1900 Mhz frequency as AT&T.
Anybody having any wi-fi issues? My wi-fi never turns on. It just says "turning wi-fi on" thats it.
