I'm need in the UK and I haven't seen anyone offering spare charge cables for the transformer.
Had anyone seen any?

I'm in the same boat. No one sells them. Not even Asus.

Aren't they just USB 3.0 chargers?
No. It's a proprietary connector AFAIK.

I meant that the cable draws power from USB 3. So any USB 3 plug would do? Not sure where you'd get the cable from
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Oh, right. Yes, they will draw power from any powered USB port.

It is supposed to be available from WWW.asusparts.eu
But they told me they have not received any tf parts yet.

Does anyone know if the 40 pin connector on the TF201 is the same as the original Eee Pad Transformer TF101?
I want to buy an extra power supply and 5 ft USB cable. I have been to one web site that indicated they were the same connectors.

I hope so I already ordered the SD and usb adapter because I read it was compatible

it really should be, to change that kind of defeats the purpose of a proprietary connector.
Can I ask where you got it from??? Is it a OTG cable?

Not sure what an otg is but what I got is a adapter to hook usb devices to it.

Has it been confirmed that the cables are the same. Also what about the docks? Will the TF101 dock work the the new prime?

the docks arent compatible as the prime is thinner.
it could be possible to finagle something but I'm not one for a solution like that.

They are the same. Used my wifes t101 cable to charge the prime last night.

Thanks for confirming that
I took a gamble and purchased another charger, the USB and SD card adapters plus a couple 5ft USB cables hoping that the pin outs had not changed
Now if Amazon would only deliver my 64GB PRIME I could test everything out myself. It looks like I might have it by Super Bowl time
Thanks guys! This is much appreciated!
I ordered a 2amp usb car charger but I don't want to use the factory cable I use at home. I just want another one. Does anybody know a cheap cable to buy from somewhere? Does the usb cable have to be sorted?
Also I wanted to purchase a dock for my note. I don't know which one to get? Should I get the oem one or the one with an extended battery (even though I don't have an extended battery..)
Any opinions?

These are about a buck each and they're Samsung branded. I have purchased a good amount of these to have in the car, work, home, and give to friends.

Great Find!!! Thank You
I recently tried to charge my Flyer at a friend's place using their microusb charger, which as many of you know works on the Flyer. Those of you in the know also probably realize that getting a microUSB cable into HTC's modified EXTmicroUSB port can be a little finicky at times.
WELL BE CAREFUL... in fact I'd say avoid it using microUSB completely if possible! Only use the HTC supplied cable and charger.
I broke my Flyer as the microUSB cable bent and snapped the charging pin inside the port So barring an expensive repair my Flyer will never charge again.
There's a thread here on repairing a View using a Flyer USB port board. Cost about $50 with shipping. Look for it for more info.

Thanks! Ordered the part, can't wait to start using my Flyer once again.
Can anyone recommend a decent aftermarket replacement micro usb lead as I borrowed some cheap one off a friend and the device gets really hot and sometimes hardly charges, I know the blackberry and Motorola ones are usually pretty thick as all the cheap ones are soooo thin.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m
Probably Not the Cable
If the cable thickness wasn't enough to transport power from the charger/port to the phone the wire would get hot, not the phone. The problem lies more in the charger and what is running on the phone, not the cable.
In regards to your concern over your phone getting warm while charging with a small cable that could be due to whats running on the phone while you are charging (could be a runaway app). I have seen similar problems when charging in the car while running GPS with the screen on and streaming music. The problem is that all chargers output the same voltage but not the same amperage. USB Ports on a PC and many chargers only provide 500 mAh and with multiple apps, wireless modems and the screen may be pulling about that much power or more and end up using up all the power coming from the charger. It sounds like you need a charger with a higher amp output.
I have a 2amp charger in my van, but the phone generally get hot in the van anyway....
But when using the standard HTC charger and cable at home, they all get hot, I.e. charger, cable and phone

Why not buy the original cable for your phone on Ebay then?
They are like $3.00 ...
I don't like buying stuff like that from eBay because I had genuine cables off there before and they were rubbish, doubt they were actually genuine.

Any after market cable should work for you.
I never have problems charging my phone with any cable..
I agree with the post above about you running extra apps and that's why it's heating up.
I like OEM BlackBerry cables. They are longer and seem like a thicker guage. Have always worked well for our devices.

I did buy a so called factory htc evo charger for $3 or so. It was either bad or a fake. It was def not a 1 amp charger. The battery wouldn't charge.

You need to be careful with what you buy.
I know there's many knock-offs on ebay.
Check the descriptions closely.
Go to monoprice.com they have a variety of micro usb cables for cheap that are great quality.

A lot of the amazon ones are really not designed for the prime and dont work. Which one did you get? I can verify that this one works.
