Bluetooth info needed - HTC EVO 3D

On my Evo 4g, I can occasionally properly connect to my kenwood kiv-bt900 for a2dp audio streaming... Usually tho, I see the eq bouncing from the music but no audio coming from the speakers. Kenwood says it should work but no official support from htc...
After all that... Does anyone know if the 4g and 3d use different bt chips?
EDIT: found the 3d supports V3.0 With A2DP, EDR... The 4g only supports V2.1 With A2DP. Any good links for bluetooth info?

Bueller... Bueller... Bueller...

Ive had a motorola BT for about 10 years now, I can walk 30ft from the phone and still sounds crystal clear.

Bluetooth 3.0 should take care of your issue

So did you figure out that a2dp works over 3g?

I work in the car stereo business and have the Evo 3d as well. I pair it (and my OG EVO) to my Kenwood KDC-BT948U. So what im saying is its not the phone unless your particular device is defective. The stereo has to not only have bluetooth but also the A2DP Bluetooth protocol. Looking up the support page on kenwoods site it actually says it doesnt have A2DP under the technical specs.
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/2010_Car_Entertainment/KIV-BT900
I would reccomend getting last years BT Streaming model the KDC-BT948U or waiting around for the KIV-701 to come out, and then adding the KCA-BT300 Which allows bluetooth streaming. Pretty much all of the bluetooth decks this year took out streaming except for the higher end Double Dins and those only allow streaming to the front two speakers. Let me know if you have any questions man
you can also see if you can get your hands on a KIV-700 and add the KCA-BT300 to it. The 701 is just this years model and has an input for a backup cam that can be used (if changed a little) for an video in

KCA-BT300 and HTC EVO 4G
I'm having the same problem as Bukem75 at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1110634.html
My HTC EVO connects to my KCA-BT300, but I get no audio when I play an MP3 or video on my EVO. I can see the audio levels dancing on my head unit, but no sound. My head unit is a KIV-701. It plays all other audio sources fine. I can make a call and my caller can hear me perfectly, but I cannot hear my caller. I have two HTC EVO 4Gs and they behave exactly the same.

Jabra BT320s or similar

Just to resurrect this thread from back in the day, has anyone seen THIS??
Im wanting a wireless bluetooth A2DSP thing with the AVRCP buttons on it. Also I want to be able to use my own earphones and this looks the ticket!
Has anyone used this or something similar on the Hermes yet?? And if so does the A2DP fix work?!?!
I've tried a number of headsets on the Hermes, including the 320s.
In terms of connection and stability the HTC is by a far distance the most stable. The 320s did not have a good connection when I tried it.
Unfortunatly all headsets had lots of hissing when used with WM6. I did not try all of them with WM5, but the results seems to be much better.
Some people have good results using reg. hacks or the Widcomm stack. For me that doesn't work.
The AVRCP buttons worked fine on all headsets I've tried (with the media player. Not all players support AVRCP).
All in all the quality of all headsets is much worse than the supplied wired headset. Still the headset makes sense to me, but not for high quality listening.

Gutted!!
Im thinking is there a way i can test A2DP using my PC as the headset?! Il get back to you if i find a solution.
mrvanx: I am currently using my Jabra BT620s (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/9783.htm) with all AVRCP functions working properly on my Orange SPV M3100 loaded with Black's latest WM6 ROM.
Jabra BT8010 has a great sound and is very flexible...
I would recommend it
BT 320 has software upgrade from Jabra website. Also, it has a very good function - to collect other music player using a wire at the same time collect to your phone using BT. This can perfect solve the music sound quality problem about your PDA.

You mean the BT230 can be connected to a different MP3 player using a cable too? (rather than Bluetooth)
Yes, the model number is BT 325s, check this out. But I cannot find any in HK
Mrvanx
I got a BT320s for my super.fi 5 Pro. The sound is excellent.
Volume adjustment is good
I got the latest FW from the Jabra Singapore site (no way to know what version is on the device and what version is on the upgrade)...
The US site shows it as coming soon???
When getting a call while listening thru A2DP you can take the call but then the phone hangs and need to be reset.
The BT8010 works better from this stand point (not much but at least no need to reset the XDA)
One of the main issue with BT320s is that it switch on by itself easily through a slight push on the central button... and the call management...
This may be due to my WM6 ROM (4/23 from LVSW)...

[Q] streaming music to bluetooth headset?

Hey, I've seen this question asked here and there but I can't get a straight answer, especially one that specifically applies to my 3VO.
SO--I've a bluetooth headset (Samsung HM1000) and a 3VO. Can I stream music, audio from movie tracks, etc. to my headset? I've heard a lot about A2DP, and since the headset packaging doesn't mention that I'm guessing that's not a feature. Am I SoL? Any apps or root tricks to fix this?
I would definitely have paid more for a legit headset if I'd even considered that this would be a problem (my fault for assuming!).
Thanks in advance!
I stream just fine to my Motorola S9 HD and Motorola S10 HD headsets.
Sent using XDA premium app.
...those are both A2DP so it's unclear to me whether your situation sheds light on mine, as my HM1000 is (I don't believe) A2DP.

They didn't sound good when I had them on, but I chalked that up to the fact that they fit SO horribly and uncomfortably that they just werent sitting in my ears properly. never had that issue with the S9-HD's
Motorola really dropped the ball on those, here is hoping there next upgrade is worth it. as of right now if my s9's die I can still find them without too much trouble at a good price.
not sure how much longer that is going to be an option though.
is there a combo type BT headset that can stream music but also be used to talk when a call comes in???????
oops. I think I didnt research this first.....i guess this one does both....SORRY.

The plantronics backbeat 903 are great for music. The quality is awesome. The call quality is only good when you have a very quiet background because the mic stinks.

I have a rooted Viper 3D and I just bought the motorola S10-hd........how do i sync bluetooth. I press the BT button but nothing happens. Do I have to download anything else from the market????
Quick question about this rom or the 3D. I'm running MeanRom 2.7 and trying to stream pandora or slacker to this bluetooth headset while working around the house. Have full wifi and the bluetooth is studdering while streaming....
I can listen to anything I have on my 3d sd card and no studder but it studders while streaming pandora and slacker.
Anyone know why and if theres any fix?
I'm pretty sure it's not the rom, just something with bluetooth and streaming audio.
I disconnect my bluetooth lg and pandroa and slacker stream perfect. I then can turn bleutooth back on and listen to music and audio on my bluetooth without a problem. It's just when I stream....any clues?
I had the Blue Ant Q2 headset and I was able to able to stream music to it. It also read off my text messages to me.
Can someone please test for me? Get your Bluetooth headset and attempt to stream Pandora or slacker radio to your 3d? On 3g and WiFi please....
There are apps for that.. just search bluetooth in play store if you have a mono bluetooth it will make your music play through it. I've done it before.

Bluetooth Stack

Currently I have an E4GT, and my BT works great. I can connect my S9-HDs, PS3 controller, wii-mote without a hitch.
This wasn't the case with my OGEvo, the audio would cut in and out, and I couldn't connect any controllers without being on CM.
Is there any info about the BT stack on the 4G LTE? I'm asking here because I assume that it's different that in the OneX, if I'm incorrect let me know and I'll ask over there.
It looks like it has many more profiles then og 4G. I saw some has a wiimote paired with one x (although it is laggy)

I think they'll probably have the same stack. WiiMotes work fine with my One X, I didn't have trouble with latency. My Phonejoy also works fine. PS3 controllers work with Root via Sixaxis app, although I'm presently locked to stock while reviewing the handset for Telecom NZ, so haven't personally confirmed that.
Bluetooth audio should be much better, since BT 4.0 has much higher bandwidth for audio streaming (although the receiving device may end up being the bottle neck). If you have a receiving device that is also Apt-X capable then the audio will be excellent, basically the same as wired up to around 370kbps (the Samsung HS3000 is cheap, versatile, and has Apt-X).

This is what the build.prop from the latest Jewel leak says:
Code:
# system property for Bluetooth Hardware information
ro.product.bluetooth=4.0
That suggests BT 4.0 to me.
Hope my icontrolpad works with it. From these comments it looks like it should. I like stock but a huge reason I want this phone is to run emulators on that awesome screen and have it propped up nice on that kickstand during my lunch hour.
I've already bought the Sixaxis app from the Play Store as I use that with my PS3 controller on my Prime. Would be great if it really does work on the Evo LTE as I wouldn't even have to spend any more cash.

[Q] BT Audio Streaming

Hey guys,
Few days ago I upgraded to the Optimus G. Had a Samsung Infuse for almost two years prior. Couldn't be happier. This thing is absurdly fast. Battery life is solid. Display is great. Awesome phone. Just hope LG continues to support it.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone is having any audio streaming issues via bluetooth?
I have an Alpine deck in my car that is bluetooth enabled. And with my Infuse, I had no issues streaming audio from either songs stored on the phone and/or youtube.
With the Optimus G, the streaming is very sensitive. Either i'll have to re pair the phone to the deck, remove the deck and plug it back in, change sources from BT to iPod to BT. Basically, I feel like I have to keep fiddling with it in order for it to play.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I use a Bluetooth speaker system inside and a headset out. I do sometimes have to repair but I haven't had any issues other then that although I would t really call it an issue either.

It works better with my Kenwood KDC-X996 than my Inspire did, but no AVRCP 1.3 support means no track data displayed on the cd player. At least until we get some AOSP on here, because Sense on Inspire 4G didn't do it but AOSP/CM did.

The O. G works great with the Sony Blue tooth deck with Pandora. I and it only cost 80 bux with free shipping

I'm having a similar problem with my OG, running SnowJB 1.1
For the 45 minutes or so that I was using the stock ICS image from the store to home, track information was displayed on my car's head unit. However, after flashing, all I get listed is 'unknown' or the last file played as an alarm or gallery video. Completely at a loss as to what could be up with that, since literally every other aspect of the bluetooth works perfectly.
I'm also pretty sure that it's not a version issue with the AVRCP profile, since my old Inspire didn't even display 'unknown' indicating that it does have the ability to sync the metadata, but it's just not reading it correctly from either Pandora or Poweramp.

[Q] Bluetooth Streaming Issue

Hi, I am having issues with bluetooth music streaming with this phone. I have a Tunelink dongle in my car which works perfectly fine with my GS2. However with OG I get very noticeable background noise and music skips every 15-20 seconds which is the worst part. I have not tested this with another BT device yet, but was wondering if anyone had a similar issue?
I'm getting this same issue with my tunelink. I have the Sprint variant..
Could it be that tunelink isn't working properly? Have you tried any other bluetooth devices?
Mine works perfectly streaming into my car's factory audio system with bluetooth.....

Since the OP's problem is the same, since he has tunelink.. It might because of the receiver. Has anyone else tested this phone's bluetooth with another receiver? belkin's?

Same here. Works better than my old GS2 with my Clarion deck. It also works great with my wife's Bose Soundlink speaker.
I am pretty sure its a compatibility issue with tunelink. I got myself a gogroove smartmini and it works great. Tunelink works fine with my gs2 and wife's HTC, though.

What version of Bluetooth does Tunelink use? Maybe it's an older version (like 1.0) that the OG doesn't support.
I just got a email back from TuneLink
Hi Josh
Unfortunately we don't have an Optimus G to test with. I looked up the specs and it says that it runs Android version 4.0.4 with a planned upgrade to 4.1.2. What I know is that we did experience difficulties with Bluetooth on early versions of the Android 4.0 series but for the most part, they appeared to be fixed with 4.0.4 but I can't say that that's true for all Android devices as the Bluetooth hardware differs from device to device. The one thing they all have in common is that all Android Bluetooth drivers need to be able to integrate with the BlueZ Bluetooth protocol stack of the kernel. That said, if the audio is skipping, maybe try closing all unused apps to free up resources and see if that makes a difference. If you're streaming over the internet, try playing music locally. If possible try it with another A2DP Bluetooth device. I will put the word out around here and see if we can get an Optimus G to test as well. I would also send an email to LG's support and ask them if they have any known issues with A2DP. Note that if your TuneLink has firmware version 1.2.0 or greater then it supports Bluetooth version 4.0 minus the low power option. Prior versions support Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. Also we only support the SBC codec.
Thanks
Mark

I just installed a Pioneer Car Stereo with Parrot bluetooth and I noticed noise, pops, hisses and complete music skips with an AT&T LG OG but streaming from a Nokia Lumia 920 to the same radio was fine and dandy. I think the issue is the phone.
