I have downloaded JBed (Java emulator) for Android 2.3 SwiftDroid and when I install a .jar file for an old button control phone I cannot control it because it does not have arrow control. It worked on 2.2 and had grey arrows on top of it for control. Can anybody work out how to get them on?
I have attached the jbed zip and it contains the apk and the lib (without the lib it force closes)
You can also download it here
Just install the apk as usual and push the lib to /system/lib and change its permissions to rw-r--r--
Code:
Or ADB:
adb install Jbed.apk
adb push libjbedvm.so /system/lib/libjbedvm.so
adb shell
su
chmod 644 /system/lib/libjbedvm.so
exit
exit
adb reboot
Here is a screenshot to show you what I mean:

There's no arrows on the screen and so you cannot press "enter" to get past this screen or "down" to select no.
What's that theme for the blue notification bar?
Honeycomb 3D SB from Market. It turns EVERYTHING into honeycomb!
Anyone?

3 Options to install.
First step: Download "bootanimation.zip"
1. ADB
Navigate to the folder containing "bootanimation.zip" in terminal/command prompt.
Type the following
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /Data/Local
Then to test, set your device so display is in landscape (will not display properly if you have it on portrait and test it but will display fine either way on boot)
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
2. Root Explorer
Copy "bootanimation.zip" to your SD card
On your Streak open up Root Explorer (or any other app that allows you to copy paste to the internal memory)
Copy "bootanimation.zip" and paste it to /Data/Local
3. Terminal Emulator
thanks nickshertzer, his directions are for drop box but can easily be manipulated for simply copying the bootanimation.zip to your SDcard
nickshertzer said:
BTW, if you don't have / want to get out that sync cable for ADB, use dropbox & Terminal Emulator. Make sure you download the .zip using dropbox longpress first before running following command (requires Busybox / can't remember if it is installed default on Steve's ROM)
Code:
su
cp /sdcard/dropbox/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot

Having some trouble using the Email.apk. Any tips for pushing it to my system and getting it to actually work?
(I'm running SimpleStreak 1.2 with is an ODEX rom. Does this need a DEODEX rom?)
hello, you can push through self Email.apk app tools Link . I use version 2.0. just copy the email.apk in the imput folder ,then 27 in the menu (after connecting the streak of the PC) and then drag and drop the app in the window of the menĂ¹
The last link appears to be wrong, says phone, but downloads email...
Gonna try them now, thanks!

If you use App Manager to add applications to the default launcher's desktop, you can replace the icons with any png that you can find on the net.
Example: I download this icon to the root of my sdcard. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6e/Android_Market.png
Then I use app manager to add the Market to the b&n desktop. After that was finished, I ran these commands on the nook.
Code:
ls /data/data/com.hari.sideloadapps/files/
cp /sdcard/Android_Market.png /data/data/com.hari.sideloadapps/files/Market
Restart the b&n launcher or restart the Nook and you are good to go.
After you add an application, list the /data/data/com.hari.sideloadapps/files/ directory to see the name of the default icon, which is most like the name of the app as seen on the desktop. Once you know the name, just copy over the new png. Be sure to leave off the extension.
BTW: Home Manager is an app that will easily allow you to switch launchers and stop and start a launcher if need.

noob question
When you say you ran the commands on the nook tablet how did you do it. I would like to use the stock launcher but cant stand the way the icons look when added with the app manager.

I used adb shell from my mac, but you can use terminal emulator from the market. Once you open it up, type su to switch to root then run the above commands.
will be trying
thanks for the info. I will give it a go.
Nice. You can do this whole procedure on the tablet itself using root explorer as well! (Only works if rooted of course, and you pay for the app, but what self respecting rooter doesn't have root explorer?)
This is a port of the lenovo thinkpad app for mobile note taking, Which was origninaly ported tothe HTC flyer by Gumby63 over at XDA

To install place zip on sdcard
Reboot to recovery
Install zip from sdcard
To add Different Languages to NotesMobile
After you have flashed the app from this post and have booted and opened app,
then u can add the different languages
head over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1426975
and download the package, then simply choose your language and push via adb or simple copy and paste with any root explorer app to /system/app remember to fix permissions and then reboot
heres a video of it in action ( i know i misspelled writing...)

If u r rooted u can download the zip, move the apk to your system/app
And move the libs to the correct location. Just extract the zip and you will see the folders and corresponding files, just copy paste accordingly, and remember to fix the permissions ( match the permissions to like files)
