I have very weird problem. I'm on a call. I receive an incoming call waiting notification which automatically puts my current call on hold (before I answer or do any action) which is something I do not want.
I would like the following behavior:
I'm on a call
I receive a notification
My current call continues unless I decide to answer the incoming call waiting.
Does somebody have a solution for that?
Maybe I have changed some setting.
This never happened on my previous rom.
I'm curently running CM7.0.3. My previous rom was Stock froyo WWE.
I would like to share that CM so far is more superior rom!
Cheers,
Asen
Nobody shared my problem so let me answer myself.
I was looking at the options of cyanogenmod and find the one which I messed up.
It is Cyanogenmod Settings --> Sound --> Notification focus.
When this option is checked, after I receive an incoming waiting call notification it mutes (or holds, I'm not sure which one) my current call.
Now everything is just fine
Cheers,
Asen

I currently use a HTC HD Mini aka Photon running CyanogenMod 7.2.0, Photonic-KANG. For some reason, I do not receive any alerts or notifications for incoming calls: no ringing, no vibration, no records in the call log but my callers actually hear the phone ringing and so it seems like I'm just not picking up.
At first, I thought it was a ROM issue, and switched to Photonic from SCREAM by Ling Gan and all seemed to work fine for a while (I even received some calls this morning) and then it started again! I seem to be the only one having this issue since I posted it on the SCREAM thread but got no response.
Short of some weird issue with my network, what reasons are there (bad flash, radio issues, hardware problems) within the android OS and the phone that could result in this?
Thanks in advance.
I've got gs3 and i love it to every bit. although, there is just one problem that i'm not able to solve.
Call waiting is activate don my phone and i receive all my calls while I'm on another active call. But when i get a new call, I swipe the green button and I get a new dialog box named "accept call after" which shows the option to 'end' the previous call or to to keep it on 'hold'. Now, at times I forget about it and it takes time that every now and then I miss that call.
I have tried numerous third-party dialer but they do not override the default dialer screen, so i was wondering if there is a trick/workaround so that I would be able to simply take the new call and my previous call goes to 'hold' by default?
i have had this feature on almost every phone that I have owned till now. using an aosp/aokp rom seems to be another solution, but it would be the last thing i would want to do..
thanks
Some of you may remember this from Android 4.3, some might not even know it exists, on some devices is included in stock ROM (as I know Samsung devices and Sony devices have it...lucky them)
On short, there was an option in dialer settings labeled "Network event notification" that showed when you were receiving a diverted call (shown as "INCOMING CALL (FORWARDED)" instead of just "INCOMING CALL") or it showed when you call somebody and that person is already engaged in a call (shown as "DIALING (WAITING...)" instead of just "DIALING")
This information was nicely integrated within the AOSP in-call UI and was shown on that blue bar that is showing up until call is answered.
There are some hypothetical scenarios to use that, one being the case in which you have two phones/numbers and one is "personal/private" and the second is a "business" one. Say after working hours you will divert the "business" number to your "private" one just not to miss an eventually important call from office or a client. If you receive a call but this function is not in, you cannot tell if the call you're receiving is from a person that dialed your personal number or is someone calling on your work one. If we have back this option we can easily see that while phone is ringing and decide if we take the call or not.
Also when we call someone it's useful to see that the other party is engaged in a call already so we wont keep ringing and eventually get frustrated when the one we're calling is not answering (being in a call, most people do not reject an incoming second call, they just let it ring). We could easily see from first seconds that our call is "waiting" and we could hang up and try again later.
So if it is possible I would like to kindly ask for adding back this feature that we miss since KitKat is out. In the early KitKat builds there was even the option present in the dialer settings (ported from the previous Android version) but it never worked. Eventually in some ROMs it was event taken out, probably the devs considered it either useless or they didn't want to bother with it. Currently there is no KitKat ROM having this function working as far as I know (except if it was included in a stock ROM by the device manufacturer)
Thank you, hoping for a positive feedback...
Hi does anyone know if there was ever something done for this?
Bump, I also would really like to have this functionality back and it should not be too difficult to implement
Please use the QUOTE feature when replying to me to get my attention. Thanks!
Hello, I have a question here,
Got marshmallow running on my HTC One m8.
There is no silent mode anymore as in no sound and no vibration. What's there now is the do not disturb feature which basically does the same. But Accidentally I had it set to accept calls only from contacts.
What I can not find out now is, does this actually and actively block and deny any calls of unknown numbers without logging them or showing in any way that this person tried to call me, or does it just not show full screen call notification when I receive a call of unknown numbers?
Hope someone can shed a light on this.

Hi! Google replaced Do Not Disturb feature with Silent in Lollipop 5.0 and it was reported that they will bring Silent back at a later stage. Anyways, the Do Not Disturb feature in Android phones does not decline calls automatically like iPhone's Do Not Disturb, it only silents your phone and if you have selected 'Contacts Only' then it will only ring if someone from your contacts call you otherwise it will remain silent and notify you of the call or text (or whatever) and your screen will turn on while a call is being received.
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU!
Okay thanks! Was worried I'll miss calls or something.
I tried it out in the meantime, asked a friend whose number I don't have to call me. I didn't ring loud regardless whether I set accept all calls, or contacts only. It rung silently but the call came through in both cases.
