Are you using a stereo bt headset
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
So, normal bluetooth headsets work, but stereo headsets do not. Are you referring to headsets for music or for talking into? Like Jawbone ICONs support A2DP whereas most headsets won't play music because they are monaural.

Is anybody using this headset with hermes? I am thinking of buying one, but just want to make sure they work good with 8525.
Thanks
I have one and I love it. The only issue I have (which wont effect you) is that when using it on two phones (which is the whole reason I bought it) my 8525, and a LG cu500v, it wont work on the cu500v, I had to un-pair it or I can not ever answer the phone.
But no issues with my hermes, I love the headset other than that one issue. Easy pairing, very loud earpice volume, and I have had no trouble with people hearing me.
any more info on
Plantronics Voyager 520
is it better or equal to jawbone headset ?
I saw an artical comparing it. Obviously it doesn't have the noise canceling ability of the jaw bone, but they say it comes close. I can not find it but this one is informative.

I have the Plantronics 520 bt headset which works really well with voice on my 8525, but won't play any music. I've tried all the various cabs from this forum but none has worked. The "wireless stereo" option in the bt settings when I pair it to my 8525 is grayed out ... does this mean that the headset cannot do music at all? Even though I really like this unit, if that's true, I'll need to return it and find one that does.

Yes, but it seems like in other threads that people are able to make some sound come thru, just not a2dp quality.
I use this program to get audio to stream to my Plantronics 520 using my HTC Elfin. It works well enough, but listening to music over Bluetooth 1.2 is not so great. It's comparable to AM radio quality. I found the program in a different thread. It's from TrianglePowers who no longer have a website. Once installed you just run the app from Programs and turn on Bluetooth audio. It opens an audio channel on the headset and all audio then goes to the headset.
On my and my son's phone; when are talking to someone, they are complaining they can't hear us properly when using wired headsets with microphone. I've used 4 different headsets, all with the same results. 2 of them were cheap ones, 1 of them was an expensive pair. All with the same results on both phones.
People complain that it sounds like we are far away.
I had my son call me on his SGS2 using the headsets and I listened on both a Blackberry I have, and an Iphone. What it sounds like is when you say a word, the entire word doesn't come through the other end. For example: If you say the word "Doghouse" it might come on the other end as "oghouse" or "ghouse."
Almost like the phone is not translating analogue voice to digital sounds quick enough or completely. This has been tried in several coverage areas so I know its not that.
The problem is with both phones. Each phone has a different case. The problem existed before and after rooting. (Happened right out of the package)
I've used both Entropy and Siyah kernels. Also tried the SGS_InCall_Volume_Fix.
Anyone else having this problem? Also, If not; then what wired headset with mic. are you using?
Thank You in Advance!

I had the same issue with CM 7.1 nightly 11 and my Scoche headset (made for iPhone, unfortunately). Great headphones, but horrible sound quality. I haven't tried the same headset on my phone that's now running UnNamedROM 2.2.1. Probably the same result.
Is noise cancellation disabled? You might want to try that out, but CM 7 doesn't have noise cancellation anyways... If only we had access to the service menu... there are settings in there to change it.

Huh.. that is odd... I know how to fix it then, its a setting in the Service menu that changes the dB required to "activate" the microphone... but again, AT&T locked the Audio part of that menu...
I haven't had an issue..Use the Samsung headphones typically, and also some Skullcandy ones.
Yes. Same problem, with Hello Direct Ultralight headset. Audio output (mono, through the single ear speaker) is fine. Audio input via the microphone is not working. I'm using a 2.5 -> 3.5mm adapter but it has 3 conductors and probably is not the problem.
Phone has not been rooted... yet.
Any other suggestions appreciated...

This has probably been addressed before. Has anyone found an apk file for the HTC FM radio that will work with the rezound . Thanks.
Yes it has been addressed before and nobody has this working yet. Just search this forum for it.
Found it and it works
If anyone is still looking, I found a thread on PCgeeks, followed it and it works great on my Evo 4g! Tried to post it but due to my utter noobness xda won't let me. Just google htcfmradio.apk and look for the thread on the PC Geeks forum. OBTW, other threads addressed an issue where people said the app wasn't working, but you have to have a three ring headset jack vs. the two ring on most. I can verify that this is correct. My earbuds have two black rings on the jack, no worky. My bose qc15 has three black rings, works 4.0! Sweet! Great sound, all of the stations come in very clear.

this is true. we need to have if so they can use the lower ring as an antenna. with out the hardware, i dont see this app ever working for the rez. there are alternatives like apps that you can listen to your favorite stations from there online broadcast and not over an FM tuner.
I tried the FM radio on my phone and I cannot get it to work. i do not believe that htis phoen has the FM radio chip. BTW, I was using the 3 ring headphone.
Googled it but couldn't find any that Worked. Link us or pm me the link and I'll post it.

Typically on a regular stereo headphone plug you have a 1/8" TRS plug. TRS stands for Tip-Ring-Sleeve. Generally Tip would be Left ear (+), Ring is Right ear (+) and Sleeve is common ground.
The "3 ring" plug you are talking about is 1/8" TRRS, or Tip-Ring1-Ring2-Sleeve. Generally speaking, the configuration of these are:
Tip=Left
Ring1=Right
Ring2=analog input (mic)
Sleeve=Ground
This is the case for the Rezound's plug. Ring2 is for input (headset-mic, or for analog signals sent from devices such as Square dongle or the music control buttons on the iBeats headphones)
Plugging in a regular set of stereo headphones without the 2nd ring (TRS) simply disables the input by grounding it out (Ring2 and Sleeve contacts are both touching the "sleeve" of the TRS plug). To the best of my knowledge, the Rezound isn't capable of using this 2nd ring contact as an antenna lead, as plugging in a set of headphones with a mic (iBeats) would totally nullify any ability for that lead to act as an antenna. The coil in the microphone would absorb any signal that might be received on that wire.
I PM'ed Abu7 the link. When I google htcfmradio.apk the first link is the ppcgeeks one. Post #8 has instructions for how to install. Also, I believe the headphones need to be 3.5mm. The headphones with the microphone jack I believe will have the third ring. I just ordered some earbuds from Amazon that I think will work. I'll let you know in a day or two and try to link that as well.
Here they are:
ok try it with terminal app
1) Place the .apk on the root of your SD card
2) Type "su"
3) cd into the destination of your .apk
4) Use "install "name of .apk" /"destination"/"name of .apk"
like this
su
cd /sdcard
install htc.appname.appname.apk /system/app/htc.appname.appname.apk

I have tried many apks from all over the internet and they all fail to even install.
Just got these (3.5MM LG OEM Stereo Earbud Headphones /w Microphone Extension for HTC Droid Incredible (Black) ) in the mail from Amazon and they work with the FM radio. The two ring earbuds I have do not work (just static). The reviews on these were good and the price was right.
Not sure why the apk doesn't work for some. Could be an EVO only thing? I know the EVO came with FM radio. After I rooted I had to go find it again, though. Maybe some phones aren't set up for it.
I'm using an EVO 4G with a Nitrous rom.

Yeah, and that forum doesn't have the apk.
So the Rezound has the BCM4330 chip...
After a quick bit of research, it seems that ALL variants of that chip that I have found do contain an FM transceiver, which is really interesting actually. This means that technically, the Rezound should also be able to transmit audio sources over FM Radio to your car stereo as well as receive FM Radio.
Other specs I've found show that the Rezound should also support 5Ghz 802.11 A/N wifi too, but I haven't been able to get any 5Ghz networks to be visible to my phone...
My guess is these functions must be implemented at the kernel level before they will function correctly.
So, now I challenge any developer to get this working.

Seconded!
Actually, its really a shame how gimped this phone comes, now that I'm aware of more of its capabilities. For the first "Beats Audio" phone to the USA, where you would assume its audio features would have been the most important area of focus, most of the stock capabilities of the hardware aren't even implemented.
-So we have an FM Transceiver that can currently neither transmit, nor receive. The transmitter especially is an awesome features for people who spend a lot of time in a car listening to their own music.
-We have a relatively hifi audio DAC, the WM8903, with an awesome built-in headphone amp capable of driving big studio cans. Not implemented. The audio on this phone is processed entirely in software, essentially limiting the capabilities of the WM8903 chip to a simple headphone-jack interface and nothing more.
-Beats Audio mode itself was supremely disappointing in its extremely limited implementation.
-5Ghz Wifi capable but it appears to not be implemented either.
All of this stuff could probably be fixed. I know Anthrax kernel supports processing audio in the DAC, I know Voodoo Sound is compatible with this chip and supports the DAC and headphone amp but its currently not available on the Rezound...
The wifi and FM radio are both handled by the same chip, so likely we just need a proper driver or kernel support to add in the missing features supported by the chip.
**edited for false information**
gsmarena.com posted that the Rezound utilizes the Wolfson 8903 DAC. This appears to be false. The Rezound actually appears to utilize the TI AIC3254

Hi...Fine in the Astra, definitely a Mercedes problem, as I picked up a Note today from Amazon, exactly the same problem. I can connect, and hear them, they can't hear me.....so back it goes!
This is very strange, tried a Galaxy Note with Gingerbread, same problem, updated via Kies to ICS ,ver 4.0.3 and it fixed it, worked perfectly....borrow a Galaxy S3 to try again, running ICS 4.0.4, same problem.

I have the exact same problem. I have a 2 year old Toyota Camry with a Toyota factory built-in car kit and since switching to the galaxy s3 nobody can hear my end of phone calls.
I can use the car kit to listen to music from the s3 and can even control the music with pause/stop/previous/next buttons from the carkit, but the problem is the microphone is dead.
The bluetooth connection actually takes the microphone function away from the phone over to the car kit, but then doesn't work... Previously I was using a HTC Desire and had no problems at all with the same setup...
I've tried unpairing the devices several times, but to no avail.
I'm not sure what to do next, but I can't change the car kit as it is a factory one and actually works really well with every other phone except for the galaxy S3.
Any help would be much appreciated. Taking the car back to the factory is quite annoying, I'm hoping there's an easier fix that can be done on the phone...
Works fine in my UK Honda Civic 2007. Does clash though with my HTC Car A100 bluetooth bridge - works fine on its own but the Media Audio pairing seems to stamp all over the Call Audio pairing so I am wondering if the S3 has a bug with splitting the 2 audio connections between 2 devices.
Could it be that you're hearing your caller through "Media Audio" & thus they are unable to hear you cos the pick-up mic on the phone is too far away/being noise cancelled instead of routing through the car's hands-free mic & being treated as "Call Audio" as it should?
Hello everybody.
I have a big problem with my Motorola Atrix MB860 bluetooth headset.
When I talk on the phone with BT headset , my voice does not come clear to the other person on the phone; the words get broken (ex.: Hello, I'm fine how are you? = ..llo, I'm ..ne ...e you??)
Obviously I tried three different bluetooth headsets (two Nokia and one Jabra) that work well with other phones. I checked on the internet and are compatible with the Motorola ATRIX MB860.
I always hear very well with BT. The problem occurs only for those who listen to me and only when I talk to the Bluetooth headset.
According to you there is a way to reinstall the Bluetooth radio module of the Motorola ATRIX MB860. Could this solve the problem?
Thank you!
P.S I have the original Android Version 2.3.4
No one helps me?
