Hello,
Firs of all I apologize if there is a similar post on the forums. It sure looks like one of those common ones. I couldn't find it, so I am asking here.
I have a problem with importing photos for contacts. To be more preceise, I can't import any. In Contacts, when I go to Contact>Edit>Phone contact Icon I get a menu with 3 choices; Camera roll, Camera, and Pictures. Pressing Camera Roll and Pictures does nothing. Nothing happens. Pressing Camera gets me to Camera.
On my X10i I'm using stock 2.1 ROM:
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: 2.1.54
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected]#1
Build Number: 2.1.A.0.435
I rooted my phone, and I removed Timescape, and some other bloatware from thet list of "few steps to speed up x10".
Everything else except for importing contact photos works fine on my phone.
I imported my Contacts via Android Sync applications from Outlook. Unfortunately Android Sync doesn't import photos automatically. I do not use Google Account sync, or whatever it is called.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Any ideas?
I keep on searching but seems like nobody had this issue...

Hi all,
I just updated to 2.1 generic following some advice from this place (thank you very much).
However, now I have a problem with my contacts - not all of them are showing in the phone book.
If I go to my dialer or to my messages, there are names listed there as being the ones that I communicated with, but they are missing from the phonebook itself somehow. I have added new names and they show, but the old ones are hidden.
Any ideas as to how I can fix this?
EDIT - I have realised that the hidden contacts are classed as Google Contacts while the ones I can see, have added now are phone contacts. Any idea how to move the Google contacts into the Phone contacts list? (I also dislike the idea of Google managing all my contacts - too late to do anything about that, but any little thing away from giving it total information is a good thing IMO)
Hello,
i'm facing a problem with my wildfire by syncing the contacts from my phone to the google contacts. i already found different threads regarding that case, but there was no solution yet.
Found out following thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=557075 but unfortunately it doesn't help me.
I'm using the mobile phone since about two month and really guess that it never worked properly. The syncronisation from google to the phone is working fine, but in the reverse way it didn't.
what i've done untill now:
-deleted already all contacts from googlemail and phone simultaneously, after that i imported all conatcts (which i backed up previously) to google again. Afterwards i synced them back to the phone without any problems
-each contact i created new, only on my phone will not be synced to google
-if i'm deleting any contact from google they would be automatically deleted on the phone
-i guess this seems to be a problem with the software, because other cellphone models of htc are having the same problem
i'm still using:
android 2.1 update 1
build number: 1.25.110.1 CL229476
kernel version: 2.6.29-6fb59e13
thank you in advance.
Is there nobody who can help me with that? Am I the only one who's facing that problem???
ive got like between one and 25questions to ask first.... there is one other option... just wipe the thing and let the google do its job. if your on froyo great. just ON COMPUTER fix up your contacts and whatever and save the account ON COMPUTER then wipe that phone. yes youll have to invest a wee bit of time restoring but that comes with the territory. google will restore what it restores.
any sync data u have now....is known to googles pushy servers. they push data rather than pull. which is awesome.
if u really need more help just PM
Hello everyone.
My issue is that ever since I upgraded to 2.3.3 GB my contact pictures are blured on the caller ID and even in the contacts. I sync my contacts with facebook. Even if I assign a picture from contacts and then pick it from gallery it comes out to be blured.
I am currently on WB v4.0.3 with custom kernel from DoomLord. In 2.1 Eclair the problem was solved through Mediascape. We don't have it anymore in 2.3.3 so I was wondering if anyone has found a fix for this yet?
When I assign contacts to the buddy widget after a while they just disappear, when this happens if I look at my texts it's just the number that shows not the contact name.
This happening to anyone else and is there a fix?
What firmware are you on?
Litening 6.1
Mee too, and with 2.1vs and others same problem.
This didn't happen to me until I "upgraded" to 2.3.5.
Before that, on 2.3.2, everything was fine with the +Buddy widgets.
Did you use 2.3.4 and if so what rom did you use, i had same problem on 2.3.5
and 2.3.4

Same to me since 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 upgrade.
I guess by the fact no one has replied its a known issue that can not be resolved.
I had the same issue on 2.3.5 it gone when I start using phone contacts only and I removed google synchronized contacts.
When I had phone and google synchronized contacts and when I checked gmail email by gmail application contacts disappeared. So far one day without issue, gmail checked few times.
Hi everyone
So yesterday I spent quite some time on transferring my contacts from hotmail to gmail.
In gmail every contact is good now (all have a name, no duplicates, linked to the right google+ profile, ...).
But in android there are lots of contacts without name: Depending on the info I have of them they are displayed:
- By email
- By phone number
- As unknown (If I have them in my contact list but don't have email / phone)
When I go to the old contacts page: https://www.google.com/contacts_v1
I see my contacts there the same way that I see them on android: The ones that are screwed up on android are also on this page.
Is there some way to let android take the info from the new google contacts version instead of the old one?
I'm using android 2.3.4 stock rom for xperia neo.
I did complete reinstall of the rom, only google is linked now, not any other account and still have the same problem.
