Lockscreen issue - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks,
I am new here and first i want to excuse my english. I hope someone can help me.
I activated my lockscreen. Now if I try to unlock my phone...no problem..the unlock Gui appears and i enter my passwort/Pin. But.....if I repeat it later no "unlock menue" appears and my phone still unlocked.
I use Launcher Pro.
Is that a bug ?
regards
Ralf

How much later are you trying to unlock your phone? Like thirty seconds, a minute, or longer?

As long as it doesn't last longer than your default time then no it's not a bug

[Q] Disable slide to answer/reject

Hi guys,
Sorry, I'm quite unfamiliar with SONY phone, but my dad own one of this badboy. He have a problem with missing the slide to answer/reject every time there is a call. Is it possible to change it to tap and hold to answer/reject?
Side note: my dad's phone come carrier locked and running GB 2.3.7, AFAIK there is no way to root the phone at this point right? So are there any solution that doesn't involve any root?
Thanks in advance
Use other luncher or make factory reset.

Changing launcher won't make any difference, as the slider is attached to the framework ( or something that can't be changed). I think a factory reset won't make do much difference.
@topic: Try installing HD Caller ID. It may not be the best solution, but it's the only I can think now.

Try to slide bellow the images. There is a bug that requires you to slide a bit bellow than what you would be expecting.

Thanks, that solves the problem! On a side note, is it possible to root XPS with locked bootloader now?

Not yet. I think DoomLord is working on a exploit and a some guys from here are using a Motorola Razr ICS exploit and working on it to work on our phones.

Oh, also it move by itself and if i type on contacts for exaple it execute my command and do one extra touch on some porson from my contacts. I'm convinced that it's a software problem but may i'm thinking wrong?

Must be the touch driver crashing....
*clean your screen, fluids tend to crash touch driver and like you mentioned locking, wiping the screen and unlocking will get it working.
If that doesn't work
*maybe it's because of some app you use crashing/colliding check and see you may might have to try un installing the apps which you installed or updated when the problem started to occur.
*if above two failed try performing a factory reset might help .
*finally flashing a new stock firmware will correct the problem if all above methods failed.

Well.....I think you have just found the answer to your question
Remove it and see if it's all good. If not, returning time it is, don't even bother go flashing firmwares. It's a brand new phone.
Good morning. Guys i was thinking that my screen protection isn't a problem because if i lock the screen and i open it again all works. And sometimes when i'm typeing a text message or i'm on browser it seems to type by itself and i'm looking scared .
p.s : i flashed a new stock rom(4.0.3) , i wiped it and i did all i could. the problem is still there.

It's been a while since I fixed mobiles but it sounds like a hardware issue. (I have heard this can be the LCD but it sounds more like the motherboard.)
Have you updated the phone recently or put on new apps?
Before trying to fix it - try uninstalling any new apps, a factory reset or if you recently updated the phone, try downgrading it.
Hope this helps until someone gives you a definite answer.

did u use any cpu controller or something..?
looks like your cpu got busy that moment. Just do the hardway with unplug the battery.
Unless it happened many times, you'd better do like what jordan0001's suggest, factory reset or upgrade or downgrade
Thanks...maybe I'll should try...to upgrade it...

then click emergency contact button
then press the home key then power
then press power again screen will be unlocked
is this fixed yet?
It won't unlock your phone. You can see home page for 0.01sec ....
No issue to me

I can't verify it atm but according ho published articles, one in many attempts will present you with an unlocked screen.
However no article I read elaborated on whether the issue is in the framework or lockscreen - so if it affecte the default lockscreen or any custom ones too.

It will unlock your phone and you have to reboot it for the ability to use the lock screen to come back.
I could reproduce this twice on my phone but not on a colleagues despite multiple attempts. Both UK unlocked, latest firmware.
Im running 4.2.1 leaked version and wasn't able to reproduce the bug.
It did crash my phone though
I've done this multiple times and I was unable to unlock my phone. I'm only able to see the home screen for a split second but then it goes back to the lock. I got different people to try and unlock the screen but to no avail.
Unrooted S3
same here , only shows home screen less than second , only thing you can do is click one applications but you won't even see it open. except you have quick dial widget on homescreen which will annoy your friend, that's all...
---------- Post added at 08:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:17 PM ----------
and it is not major bug , only something like SDS or Exynos security problem are called MAJOR ...

So a couple of things.
1.) you're describing the behavior when you've failed to activate the real bug. Yes it shows the home screen, but if you time things correctly, the lock doesn't come back up.
2.) Leave auto rotation on, and try landscape mode. I found it was easier to hit that way.
3.) Tapping home then power at the right time takes some practice. You may have to try multiple times.
I was trying to unlock with the settings I always have (no screen rotation,.5 animation, etc). Not going to enable them just to see IF someone can unlock my phone. Plus I took 20 mins to try and unlock it with an additional 15 mins from my Husband and that didn't do the trick. I'm not willing to try and spend hours testing to see if my luck finally kicks in

Yeah, you did it wrong... Try it a few times, it'll work.... On all SIII's it'll work! If your homescreen appears 1 sec, you did it too slow!!
Greetings....

How fast are you supposed to do it then as I'm so fast sometimes it doesn't react at all.

Possible fix
It appears that this bug does not exist if you enable S-Voice by going into it's settings and checking the 'open via home key'. I was able to unlock 4 times on my GS3 while the 'open via home key' option was disabled. Once enabled, I have not been able to bypass unlock.

Yeah you must deactivate SVoice and then you must type in the wrong code until its locked for ten seconds... Then It'll work!!

Hi,
Samsung is really slow to react and push a fix on this case... On my opinion its a serious security issue and Samsung should react faster
