From my understanding wifisharing is for using usb tethering. Litepro is currently creating a zip with this application so it can be put back for people that tend to use it.
Ok thanks
But now, I have some noob questions...
What is exactly "usb tethering" ?
Another noob question I guess : I already have 1.4 on my phone,
Do I need to wipe all data before flashing ? Or juste flash will work and I won't loose my data ?
Thanks for your answer

USB Tethering is so you can use the data connection on your phone for say your laptop. No need to wipe the data, just flash 1.5 straight over the top. I have just installed 1.5 and i can't go to settings/manage applications without getting a Force close error.

May I wait before flashing ? Because if you get some force close...
Do you think you have this force close because of not wiping before flashing ?

It appears that this is a common problem on the 1.5 firmware at the moment.Alot of people are getting force close errors. I would hold off upgrading for now if i was you. I have gone back to KE7 for now.

Ok thanks for the advise
I'll wait for an upgrade
LitePro is aware of the FC-Problem and will Fix it...so wait for a new Version befor flashing ... I will wait too
from what i understand the "wifi sharing" that has been removed is the one that only the samsung apps use. NOT the actual wifi sharing through android... eg. hotspot. As i am able to freeze wifisharing and wifi sharing manager through titanium backup and can still usb tether and wifi hotspot.

Not on my phone because that's a samsung app.
EDIT: But I don't know how litepro has disabled it. If he has just frozen/deleted it outright then all keis probably won't work. Unless he's found some way of disabling it except for kies.

Which Rom ? Alien or starwars ?
No problem with English but will be great a Multilingual Rom for all international users...

For the skipping sprint activation you also can freeze all apps with "sprint" (or sprint zone and sprintOmaDm as minimum) in the title via titanium backup.
They have a "stockish" rom that is in the development section that everyone is ranting about. By I personally am running the Alien ROM. which is okay. But I'd go with either Star Wars or the Stockish ROM myself. I'm gonna be flashing over the Stockish one tomorrow.
Thanks to all...
now i'm flashing Alien.....
after, if i'm not happy try others...
Good luck.
Flashing Alien rom will not skip the long network check on boot. Do not and i repeat do not freeze the Sprint zone as this causes a force close when it finishes the check upon reboot and causes it to check over and over again. (first hand experience of this)
Simple solution, put pbone into airplane mode before powering off, add the widget to your home screen. When you re boot knock it out of airplane mode and will connect to your network provider and no need to change any settings.
This was posted in another thread but cannot remember which one.

PLEASE HELP ME..
Same thingh with other Roms (star wars and stockish)
^^ i am facing the same issue here.. any solution?
If your phone is unlocked then flash the full puddin SBF file using RSD. Make sure it's the big file and not the one that's around 1 - 2 mb. Once finished it will say fail, pop the battery and re boot. Should now work again and do the long network check but without force close. Then just use airplane mode before shutting down each time.
Again do not freeze or remove sprint zone, that is the cause of the force close, not the roms.
Maybe an easier way but that's what I had to do.

Freezing SprintOmaDm disables the Sprint check. However, for some reason, the slide locks are disabled.
If there's a fix, I'd love to hear it...

Looks like the pudding_stock_unlock.sbf link is no longer available. I still have it on my machine but it weighs in at just under 2.5GB (silly me, its 404MB when zipped, uploading to FileFactory now)
Think your best option at present is to go back to basics. Firstly flash the stock recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216143
Then download and flash the latest ota for rsd from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202666
Then go through the process of rooting/unlocking.

Yes go through the process of erase recovery then flash the stock recovery, take note that it is .smg just in case you think its .img
Then get RSD fired up and select the official update, phone into rsd mode and wait for it to complete. If all goes well it will say you need to manually re boot your device.
Any probs let us know and will try our best

Just to keep it safe yes

Glad you are back up and running
So you did not freeze the sprint zone at all?
When i flashed the HomeBase Photon Stock rom it went through the network check, hit ok at the end and got a force close. Must admit that never happened with the Alien rom though.
This is why now i am only rooted. Installed the latest update and just rooted. Had too many issues with custom roms, to be honnest stock is very fast and i also use ADWLauncher EX. You can also freeze/unistall the bloatware if need be, there is another thread with a list of safe apps to remove, but not sprint zone lol
Heres the link for the full Pudding_Unlock.SBF file
I haven't downloaded anything recently, I literally just picked up my phone after I woke up and I got a message saying "the application tasks provider has stopped working unexpectedly" and it gives me the option to force close. When I close it, a similar message pops up for email, messaging, social hub, tw launcher, facebook and it keeps going on and on without giving me a chance to use the phone. Do you guys know what I can do? I would be extremely grateful if you could help me out.
Bwahahahaa ;-) Gold.
Yes i've tried that. I've take the battery pack, memory card and sim card out, then replaced them but the loop keeps occuring. It's gotta be more of a software issue and that's why I need your help.
You haven't told us anything whatsoever about your setup/rom/kernel/etc. We're not mind readers
Try a factory reset in the first instance.
If you're running anything other than stock firmware, go back to stock firmware.
i recomendeed to change your rom..
i think that is a crush from your system, mate..
About 4 months ago I had exactly the same problem.
Is there Debugging-Mode enabled in you're phone?
Is you're phone rooted?
Try to take out only the SIM Card and then connect it to you're PC. Then turn the S2 on and try to backup all you're data.
If you're phone is rooted, try to boot up in CWM Recovery Mode and go to "advanced" and then "Fix Permissions". It shuold solve you're problem.
If you're phone isn't rooted, then you have to flash a stock or custom ROM.

I know about technology but not like this. I have no idea what debugging mode/rooted or cwm recovery is. Any chance of explaining it to me in really, REALLY easy terms?
Sorry about my lack of knowledge guys, but I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking the time out to give me a hand.
1. Try wiping all data (fixed when i had the problem)
1. U need a kernel with CWM recovery (recommend siyah kernel)
2. Install with odin look on these forums for odin dont remember link
3. go to recovery (vol up+home button+power) and wipe data/cache (wipes everything apps, passwords, etc)
4. Try now if works click the thanks button

No problem man
Okay...when you have root permissions on youre phone you can write in system files and do other administrative work.
You can root youre phone by flashing a rooted kernel. The kernel is something like the heart of youre Android OS. You have to know some facts about youre S2, to root it successfully.
You have to know which Kernel version is installed at the moment. This information you can find in Settings -> About Phone -> Kernel Version (or something like that...my S2 is in German ). But when youre phone is bricked or youre system is damaged, its really hard or impossible to find out the kernel version. I think you won't be able to root it successfully :-(
So the only one possibillity to rescue youre S2 is, to flash a new firmware.
I will say right now, I'm a total noob, and could have possibly picked the WORST device to try flashing from Verizon to Cricket, but I have SCOURED the internet, and the more I read, the more I do with this phone, the more confused I become.
I tried (and failed):
* Loading a custom PRL onto the phone with CDMA Workshop 2.7 (Phone will not load with QRST)
* Changing ANY data in the NAM/CDMA Configuration and have the phone remember
* Seeing if there might be a custom ROM available.
So my question is: WHERE DO I START!?

Since I've had so much free time with my phone, I actually got the thing flashed.
Between QPST and the right PRL, my Incredible 4G LTE is now capable of utilizing my talk and text. The last thing I have to do is program an APN for the phone, so my question has changed now.
After going under Settings -> Mobile Network -> Access Point Names -> Create New APN
I tried creating a new one but the default APN (VZWINTERNET) remains default and I can't seem to add any new APNs on the phone. I already have the settings for making the APN work, but does anyone know a fix for the phone not remembering new APNs?

No, and I figured I would have to. So now I'm working on rooting the phone unless you already know how.
So once I have it rooted, it's as simple as rewriting over the default APN?

So far, just completed this walkthrough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986346
Fingers crossed it all works and I can load my custom ROM.
EDIT/UPDATE: So I completed the full bootloader unlock! YAY! Now to try and load the Venom ROM. Ideally, everything will work after loading the new ROM.
So it turns out, I still can't root this phone.... I have unlocked the boot loader, but USB Fastboot doesn't appear.
I'd rather edit the post than make new posts. Fixed the damn thing. I can load TWRP recovery, but now I can't seem to get Viper LTE to load right, it keeps the damn stock ROM. I've tried ROM Manager, and now trying GooManager.
Okay, so I was able to not get the Venom LTE like I thought I wanted, so instead I have Cyanogen 10.1, but the problem is, now I either need to...
A: Get the phone into DIAG mode (AKA ##3424)
B: Program settings for the Cricket network
C: Find a Cricket-specific distro of Cyanogenmod.
So random question time: Does the ROM have to be 100% the device I'm trying to alter? I.e. I cannot use an Incredible 2 ROM on an Incredible 4G LTE?

I don't see an option for DM Command Service, which is what I really need. I need to program my phone with the QPST software like I can with the stock ROM.
Of course, I've already flashed the stock ROM, but when it's obliterated for the NEW ROM, my phone dumps the CDMA settings. Also, where might those be stored? If I do a "dirty flash" to CM10.1, maybe I can keep where I programmed my Mobile Directory Number and all that info?
Also, I've already tried *#*#3424#*#*, *#*#PROGRAM#*#*, *#*#DATA#*#* and nothing seems to go through to get the DM Command Service.

This seems unnecessary. Have you tried the following in cm-10.1? In build.prop change these lines:
Code:
# Carrier definitions
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Verizon
gsm.sim.operator.alpha=Verizon
gsm.operator.alpha=Verizon
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310012
gsm.sim.operator.numeric=310012
gsm.operator.numeric=310012
# Access to Verizon/HTC apps in Play store
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-htc
ro.com.google.clientidbase.yt=android-verizon
ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=android-verizon
ro.com.google.clientidbase.gmm=android-htc
ro.com.google.clientidbase.ms=android-verizon
to this:
Code:
# Carrier definitions
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Cricket
gsm.sim.operator.alpha=Cricket
gsm.operator.alpha=Cricket
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310016
gsm.sim.operator.numeric=310016
gsm.operator.numeric=310016

So where's my MDN stored? Or is it all inferred from the APN? I don't need to load a PRL?
Keeps coming back with SIM Card Added, reboot to access network. Cricket doesn't use GSM...
Doesn't work. Need to load a PRL onto the phone. When I dial *611, it gives me Verizon Wireless.

If you had read the first post of CM, you'd realize that you're just supposed to hit back when "SIM Card Added" comes up. I have successfully used QPST on this phone. See post 5 of this thread.
I take it Cricket is a sim-less CDMA carrier? If this is the case, then build.prop probably isn't sufficient. This is then outside of my realm of knowledge.
Greetings all..my phone got stolen today . My device is rooted and it has twrp installed . My phone is locked using fingerprint method. I want to know if he's still able to get my private contents ?

Im guessing u didnt have remote wipe setup? If he know anything about modding phones he maybe able to get past scanner with twrp. Other wise no hell only be able to wipe the phone. Make a police report asap and report it stolen to ur carrier they can sometimes block the imei and blacklist it.

I have ,but theres no internet ..plus he turned off the phone. He just needs to boot to twrp recovery then wipe data ,reboot then everything is back up but my contents will remain. If that's the case then fingerprint security or any other kind of security is useless...

Well thats the problem with custom recovery its a security flaw only way to be 100 percent is if the phone was encrypted then hed need a password for twrp.
Cuz if there was stock recovery his only option would be to wipe the whole phone not just data
Sorry to hear that buddy. Since a bad experience i always use Cerberus///
Go to android device manager web page and login with your current gmail id that actual login on your stolen phone you can wipe your phone remotely and see on map best of luck
