i found this interesting thread about landscape home screen in touchwiz for galaxy S...only problem is i don't know how to install it...1.it needs a deodexed rom..2.will this work for Ace? am confused

I am more of a touchwiz fan
it doesn't work on Ace very laggy and crashes when i try to open apps...

I tried it some time ago when i flashed my phone with Villian ROM, and i hated the GB launcher.. didn't work then and now it works perfectly fine
I am running villian. Which one to download there are so many? I randomly downloaded one but it failes to install.
Try go launcher ex, its working fine in my GB KPE

SOME LAUNCHERS support LANDSCAPE mode HOME screen and some dont.
it is not in the ROM or something.

hey guys, im using dexter's froyo 1.3(and sometimes testing xavwanted's other mod) and they both have a great job
but-u can call me old-fashion - i kind of like the old 2.1 home style phone.apk, with blur style 2 buttons(phone, sms) around the menu button... so if any of u can upload it for me, i'll be very glad...
btw, do u think it would cause any problem? or work just perfectly...
If I remember corectly, HeLauncher has a Blur themed option. I'll have to look when I get home for the 2.1 stock launcher but I don't know if it would work or not. It might also be possible to pull the launcher out of Dexter's blur mods .
When I try to install this MotoHome.apk (on Dexter 1.3) it says "Application not installed".

I just installed official ICS on my SGS2 and must say i was a bit disapointed about the look.
I really dont like Touchwiz...
I have tried CM9 and Resurrection lately and like the look.
I can use Nova launcher on the official Rom,so i can create maps..
BUT i cant get the nice icons in the dock,like stock ics themed icons as Phone,contacts,SMS etc...
So i wonder how i can get those icons in the dock,like in Resurrection?
Hope somebody can tell me,cause now im stuck with Touchwiz icons in the dock and they are not nice.

Sammy just blew it. I feel the same, touchwiz made ICS look as last year stuff. I'm very disappointed with the upgrade and looking for a more ICSistic experience

Can someone make and CWM .zip Update that places the Stock Samsung ROM ICS Framework-res.apk file where must be?
I copy/paste another .apk over the stock one and now dont have UI, it just Boot Logo, and it freezes there ¬¬
And no, i dont wanna have to Format and erase everything and install the rom again

EDIT: I was thinking, CWM makes backup OF current Freeze after boot logo. So then i install the same rom again CLEAN, and then backup it > i select on CWM Restore the current Freeze after Boot logo rom with all data and apps and THEN i choose Advanced Backup and restore the Stock ICS backup but only the system? That will work?
I'm running omega rom based on xxlph. I have the accuweather widget. But it doesn't update automatically.. I have set the auto update on and everything.I tried using another weather widget and that also doesn't update.
But if I open the widget and press the refresh button and go back to the home screen it'll update. Any idea?
Have you a link for your ROM ? because I think it's a problem with your launcher.
I'm using go launcher. When I was on a 2.3.6 rom with go launcher it was working just fine.

i tried installing the stock ICS launcher apk onto 2.3.7 firmware but i got an error on installation.
i don't know why such a thing hapened.
is it because i'm on gingerbread ???

i have already used this.
i want the ics stock launcher cause it shows the widgets preview in the app drawer itself.
Afraid it's beyond 2.3GB for that

Hi, To allow that happen, i'm afraid it's beyond GB 2.3 version. Requires higher platform support like 3.0 and 4.0.X, so far that kinda launcher which have that ability are Nova Launcher & Trebuchet, which is only compatible to 4.0 ICS. AOKP and CM9 ROMs have that support
But there's holo Launcher for 2.2+ from Mobint original developer, not sure got your mentioned function or not. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636393 Hope this info helps.

This is probably what you're looking for. I found it a while back and it works fine on my O1. I think it force closes on stock Gingerbread, though, but it seems to be OK for CM7 based ROMs. Link below:

Well, it looks like what I heard about it force closing on stock GB is true, then. I'm running neko's Ginger Snap 2.1 rom, which is CM7.2 based, and I have no problems adding widgets. Oxygen is an AOSP rom, iirc. Someone may need to port this properly to run on AOSP roms, which I'm afraid I'm not skilled enough to do.

Try to install as Systemapp. Download a Root Explorer and give root access. Browse to /system/app and copy the file to that path, set permissions to rwx-rwx-rwx and reboot.

now i flashed cm7 stable version .,.,.,.,this launcher works OK......thanx.,.,.,.
